BTW, Bloodhound spits out errors with trying to reference this indicator.
I wrote a short quick NinjaScript to quickly identify signals generated by the PIO indicator. Admittedly, there are good signals but work will be required to add filters or other indicators, possibly, to create a profitable strategy.
Here are a few screen shots from the NinjaScript strategy (thanks to ollie!):

Since I had already sprung for the trial subscription, I figure I should find out if there is any merit to continue developing a trading strategy using this PIO indicator. The indicator developer, Roger Medcalf, adds humor to his site which I kinda like. In any case, he listed 8 entry rules which all says the same thing, so there is really only one rule that he recommends traders follow which is to take the trade after a bounce off the +/- 3.14 level (phi value).
Pi-Osc has 8 simple rules that must be observed to achieve the best results.
Rule 1: Wait for the bounce away from PI
Rule 2: Wait for the bounce away from PI
Rule 3: Wait for the bounce away from PI
Rule 4: Wait for the bounce away from PI
Rule 5: Wait for the bounce away from PI
Rule 6: Wait for the bounce away from PI
Rule 7: Wait for the bounce away from PI
Rule 8: Remember the other 7 rules
So I created a real simple strategy with a fixed stop and target, taking all trades without any filters, using Roger's rules listed above and ran it through NT8 Strategy Analyzer 'Optimization' mode. Interestingly, the results showed using a 10-tick stop and a 41-tick target the yields a 1.24 profit factor. Not bad for the first crack at this I thought.
Just sharing what I discovered so far and it looks like I will do further development on this after I complete final touches on another strategy I am working on.
Blue skies!
