First, thanks Mike for providing a forum via which I can get this info out, as my twitter following of 9 wouldn't help much. Unfortunately, the easiest marks are likely not on here.

I just received an email from "The Oxford Club", touting an interview with "America's Top Trader", Eric Fry. I'll try to keep this brief. It's a glossy, well-produced video interview on the beach of CA, with Eric Fry, who just beat out the best of the best in a trading/investing competition. He actually did win one, a charity trading competition. But that's where the truth ends. And he's willing to sell you his system (the magnanimous guy that he is).

Eric Fry (middle name Joseph – not to be confused with a legitimate titan of investing and financial advisor who’s middle initial is T.), is supposedly a former hedge fund manager on Wall Street, with over 10 years of experience, AND a financial advisor. And yet for decades he's been registered as a broker (salesman), as recently as from 2009 – 2014. Fascinating guy, he is. Plus, he’s had his online blog/website Daily Reckoning during this time, too. Such passion.

He's also an “international finance expert” and “professional portfolio manager” (who – if so – failed to register with the NFA for many years) “specializing in international investment strategies and short-selling”.

The bottom line: run. For decades the only registration he had was as a broker. For a little less than 2 years he was registered with the NFA. But perhaps his hedge fund dealing with international finance didn't deal with futures, options on futures or forex. Also, The Oxford Club that is touting him has been around for decades, and one person online noted their unblemished BBB record. But look inside it, and you'll find that they do settle their disputes, but they have a lot of them.

Matrix Capital Group, Inc. – status terminated as of 9/23/16. It IS a brokerage (sales people), though. Oh, wait – it’s actually terminated as that, also.
