I wanted to add my recent experience with Remek and I hope to add a follow up down the road.

For now I am in SIM and trying to learn the Momentum Pro STR BT..

I read on pg1 that he uses readily available indicators that you can probably piecemeal. I dont know a thing about coding so I dont know how much of that is true. I am not trying to sell you his indicator(s), just give my initial/preliminary thoughts on what is in front of me. Why did I purchase this? Because it will take the trade on its own when the conditions are met. I liked that because I suck at entering trades.

I do not know Ferenc. And as you can read of my experiences with past Vendors (written here on Futures.io) many have NOT been good to me. But I have been watching some older/newer videos and I will have to say Ferenc is a gentleman and I get the sense he really wants to help. In fairness to the critic, ALL Vendors are nice guys. But nice guys dont always come with integrity. I think Ferenc has that integrity.

Thanks for reading.

Hey fellow traders, I've been learning/testing algorithmic trading for a while and found Remek. Is there any recent experience with Remek? I see there are older posts, but interested how this algo works now.

I'll try Remek's trial version, but curious about others' opinions.

Many thanks for any reply

I am still trying to understand it. I have only had it a few months. I did make 40 bucks 'paper' money this morning. I didnt purchase the room so I probably dont get the full experience/education. He offers a free limited membership, but I dont like having to sign up each month with all the things on my plate. It does take the trades automatically and I like that, but I am still in SIM with it. I think the key to understanding it is to be able to identify flag formations. Which I dont. But if you do, that may be an advantage.

I am a Remek customer and user for over 1 year now. I own all three versions of the 'Standalones' plus several indicators. It has taken me a while to learn to trade pullbacks, as they are difficult. The software has helped me in my learning curve with this type of trading but it is not necessary to own the software to trade pullbacks. I can say the software is 100% rock solid, no bugs or glitches, it's a high quality product.

Ferenc is very invested in his business, with excellent customer service, and many free training opportunities via his workshops, and through his forums, blogs and documentation. I do subscribe to his premium service which will show what he is thinking over various markets and will provide guidance and insight into potential trades. Please note, he does not define your entry point, that is up to you as a trader.

This method has changed my thinking and approach as a trader, working in ATR's instead of dollars, looking for bigger point moves, how and where to place stops, when to get into trades and what to avoid. I can say this has been a great learning experience for me and has improved my skills. Be warned though, this is not easy trading. it takes work, insight and a willingness to learn this method. He does offer a free trial of the full functionality of the software, which is where my involvement began. Remek! closely resembles the work of Adam Grimes, and he is cited frequently. I am in the process of reading Adams book the Art and Science of Technical Analysis, which has been a great help in learning with the Remek method. This type of trading is not for everyone, but it was a style that suited my trading personality, so the products have been a solid foundation for me. I still use the products today, and this is my main trading system (on NT8).

I wanted to make a clarification to my comment above regarding buying the software to learn the method. This is true you don't need the software to learn the method. However to trade, it is necessary, since, especially on shorter timeframes, it would be almost impossible to replicate manually the consistency and precision of what the software does so fast and automatically (especially when calculating trailing positions of targets, stops and trailing rules). It would be difficult calculate the ATR and risk parameters in your head while trading. This is where the true value of the software comes into play.

Thank you very much for sharing your experience with Remek. I'm still in the process of looking for algo software and interested in testing Remek.

Do you use fully automated trading (for both entry points and trade management)? Did you do backtesting for the software? If yes, can you share some experience there?

I really appreciate your help!

The short answer is no I do not utilize Remek with full automation (I am assuming you meant 100% of the time). Compare this to a man and machine example - does a pilot fly with autopilot 100% of the time? No they do not, only when certain conditions are right.

The beauty of the software, and your own intuition is that when a setup is identified either through the Market Scanner Pro or your own study, you can then elect to turn automation on at your discretion. You want to wait for the best setups, not any setups. As trends progress, setups deeper in the trend tend to not be as strong, do you want to be in that trade? Full automation might put you in, but it maybe better to search for a newer trend opportunity.

The software will help you identify these trends, and you will learn to see them developing on your own. As these trends emerge then you attack. I use limit orders many times or you can then let automation do the heavy lifting for you if you are ready to be in the trade. Develop your own plan as full automation does not equal an ATM withdrawal.

You can back test with the BTX version, but I run this live daily and see my results. My testing is in my trade results.

By the way, Adam Grimes book The Art and Science of Technical Analysis will give you a very deep understanding of pullback trading. Additionally, there is a wealth of information in the Remek! Forum that can assist in your software learning journey as well. I hope that helps, feel free to ask further questions as I do use the software daily.

Thank you dgresens for sharing your insights about how you combine the software and your intuition. I've been testing/using the software in the last couple of weeks. It's been a great experience so far.

What instruments do you trade mostly? Do you have any experience that this software/strategy works well on one asset while less so on another? So far, I'm looking at multiple assets (indexes, currencies, commodities) and trying to get a sense if this strategy is better or worse at different assets.

I mainly stick to the micro contracts. Take the signals from the minis, and trade the micro. Because the strategy is dependent upon crowd behaviors' i.e. the reemergence of momentum it lends itself well to the 'default' markets in your Market Scanner Pro. I think as you mentioned sticking to the indices, currencies and commodities (and the liquid ones, unlike lumber, etc.) and relying upon the MSP you have all you need right there. There are enough markets there to keep you busy, I personally would not search for 'better' asset classes. In time you will see the patterns repeating themselves on the various markets - that would be my focus.

I see that Remek works with any timeframe but I am curious about the TF others have been using. I am strictly intraday. Is this the type of system that could be used for a few quick trades a day?
