Anyone had experience with Valuetrader.com or their wavetrader / low volume node stra
Was doing a little youtubing this weekend and came across valutrader. I had never used volume in my trading before and it looked to be a good system to spot where the low volume and high volume was without having to have the bigger market profile up.
I bought WaveTrader and Val's original HVN program. I think WaveTrader has a lot of potential. However Val was just starting up his new (at the time) HVN program and he became totally focused on that so I am sorry to say the support for WaveTrader was minimal at best. There was supposed to be a Skype chat room for it but there was no one there. And Val stopped trading it himself to totally focus on HVN. So big disappointment for me.
As far as the original HVN, the premise is good (trading high volume nodes) and Val himself does well with it. But he has tremendous knowledge of market structure which appears to be a requirement with HVN as he knows when to pass on trade setups and when to switch to alternative chart timeframes to find the proper entries. He would attempt to impart his knowledge of market structure once in a while. But of the HVN software purchasers in the HVN Skype room, I did not personally see any of them make money with HVN and the vocal ones complained about losing money with it. Val does not call trades but will show his results at the end of the day - again he knows what he is doing with it and does well with it.
Anyway, I now see Val is doing yet another program but based on my experience, I will pass.
Thanks for the feedback, I was watching more of his vids, just going way back to see how the thing had developed after you mentioned that. It's obvious that he could trade his chart naked actually, just from how he can draw structure from looking at some of these genesis vids (ie before he started tacking a lot of bells and whistles on the charts)
I take that from this
This is before any of his recent stuff and actually explains his paint bar studies and all that.
I wish I had the nack for picking out those support/resistance structures, I'd be much more successful. Worth a grand? dunno.
What I don't like is that he always seems to post a video on YouTube - of him trading of REPLAY acct -- NOT Live :O
I don't like that...
I would rather he record a few of his personal trading at least for one hour >>> even if it is without narration. I don't care about the narration. He can add that later if he wants to.
I rather see real trading than SIM / REPLAY Trading...
Hi all. I'm an independent trader from the oldest republic in world san marino, situated in italy. It's a long time I'm following futures market, before forex, before italian covered warrants. I trade since 2000, I was 19yrs old. I've passed through many systems and as many of you great traders say as fattails or thewizard and others, the best system u can follow is the system U Create urself.
Now regarding valutrader, he uses this system on nq and cl. u trades 1-2hrs mostly at the opening of cl (and sometimes before) and the first hr of nq.
In this system there are many types of signals, think 8-9, can't even think how many there are. the manual he gives does not explain all, 2 only. the rest u have to find out urself from videos.
So explanations are (vote 1-10 3)
the videos he makes everyday i think they are in replay. u can find them in youtube or on his website.
When i purchased the system, i said, hmm 1000 bucks for this seem worthed. well now I would say, hm 100 dollars for this is more the enough.
I was there in the chat room, he does not explain trades or anything else, he just keeps the room open, not doing anything. He says he trades the market with a capital of 300k and more and uses max stop each day of 1-1500 dollars.
he takes the trades mainly on these signals called aggressive trades and scalp trades. some are good, some bad. u need to filter them out, u need other things. the chart has so many things on top, lines, indicators, but then when u tell him why I'm getting losses and he's reporting only good trades, well then he replies to "EXPERIMENT"....
yes experiment, as if i m a scientist. If I wanted to experiment I would have done medicine at university.....
HE ONLY PUTS VIDEOS OF THE GOOD ONES, OR A SMALL LOSS MAXIMUM.
OTHER PEOPLE WITH WHOM I VE SPOKEN IN THE CHAT ROOM ARE VERY NEGATIVE ABOUT THIS SYSTEM AND ALSO NOT PROFITABLE.
this is just my 2 cents, much better on this forum.... if u want some screemshots i can send
THx big MIKe
I knew Thomas was a successful trader. I became familiar with him thru the MAX trading forum. He had posted lots of amazing trades over several months using the MAX trading system. Then it just stopped. He disappeared. It was like a river flowing steadily and all the sudden ... no water. Dry as a bone. I kept looking to see if he had posted any new charts for months. Finally my curiosity caused me to look at his profile. I wanted to learn from him, so I followed a link to his Valutrader.com site.
At that time he was peddling Wavetrader. Since he was so successful with the MAX system (at least it appeared that way) and had moved on to this self made system I thought I would follow and learn. So... I took the bait and I believed what he said on his sales pitch "We trade with Wavetrader every day" and "Lifetime support" and "Lifetime upgrades as NT new versions come out". I had not had WT very long until HVNTrader came out. I bought it. Within a few months he moved on to NodeTrader. There was no more real support for WaveTrader since it was old stuff and he had moved on. It was even gone from the website products as if it had never existed.
Since I had bought both WaveTrader and HVNTrader I asked about moving to NodeTrader and was told it was unnecessary. NodeTrader had kind of meshed together WaveTrader and HVNTrader so I could run both and get nearly the same trades. After a few months I inquired again about purchasing NodeTrader since he seemed to be sticking with it at that time. Having spent about $1400 at that point I kinda thought I would be offered a good upgrade to NodeTrader for both machines. He wanted $497 per machine. Disappointed. Glad I didn't do it.
Now he has ditched NodeTrader and is on another project... How To Day Trade. I find it interesting as I had asked him if NodeTrader was finally the "real product". He told me yes but after being put off by the cost to upgrade I passed. Glad I did. NodeTrader was only a passing fad also. It is no longer on his website and you would not even know it was a major seller for about 2 years except for the YouTube videos... which are not linked to the current sales pitch. They are simply down the right hand side under "archives" and "categories" How To Day Trade
I just inquired about when the NT8 Version of WaveTrader and NodeTrader were coming out. Here is the reply:
"I do not know. I am focusing on the current programs and working backwards."
Well I am not holding my breath.
If you want serious support look elsewhere. Think long and hard before you invest your $$$ in the "we use (whatever is the current program) everyday in our trading" line. True this week or month, but sure to change sooner than later and your product will not be a "current project" any longer. The new takes priority and the old gets shoved back in the closet further.
To be perfectly clear. I think Thomas is a very talented and knowledgeable trader. He is a nice guy. Thomas does reply promptly to emails. He has never ignored a single inquiry from me. But this is far from what was implied when I bought into the "current project" way back when.
I do not use WaveTrader or HVNTrader as a primary system. I use them as supporting because there are some nice features highlighting certain things in the market that make a difference. I found, like the above trader, there were many trades that lost if you didn't filter them well.
That's my two cents worth. Disappointing overall experience because I felt baited. Had he offered to bring old members along reasonably when things developed I would have a different perspective. But as it is I felt foolish for believing the pitch and paying to take the bait.
