John Carter - simpleroptions.com

I am certain that there are folks much more knowledgeable than me regarding this question. I would like to point out that in learning about options I read and kinda understood most of the introductory and intermediate options books out there ( I love to read). However, these books really just defined what options are defined the different strategies. I still lost money because I did not understand the PRACTICAL APPLICATION OF SAID STRATEGY. Folks can say what they want regarding John Carter's Simpleroptions.com service, but I am eternally grateful for what he has shown me in LIVE APPLICATION in his webinars on how to use options in different strategies. Yes, he is a prolific webinar maker (and would love for you to buy something from him), but so far it has been well worth the money. You can sign up for a free daily market note at his site also. His site for paid members gives you a morning and afternoon email update with a nightly email and video update. PLUS, they have recorded around 2 hours of live option trading info daily from their higher paid LIVE service. I do not daytrade, but I have learned immensely regarding manipulating option greeks to your advantage by watching John (as well as the other hosts) in how they trade options. As a plus you can also see some daily charts provided by Carolyn Boroden (from her website fibonacciqueen.com) and he especially gears his information toward the thinkorswim (ToS) platform which is what I use. ToS is very powerful and daunting, but he shows how to turn that power to your benefit and harness it's capacity.

I see that you also use TradeStation, which he many times pulls charts from also.

I would say stay away from anything John Carter. Not just me, but others have told me they've have lost time and money trying to follow his services.

Carter's site does have a few free things. If you use ThinkOrSwim. Carter's "squeeze" indicator is included for free. (And also Woodies' CCI for that matter). But like anything else, the indicator isn't 100% and as usual seems to require "context".

I tried Carter's trial of simpleroptions. And they don't follow up the losers. Sometimes ignores them completely. And the losers easily wipe out two or more win positions. They show a "live account" yes, but that's just the hook in the initial hook videos. After that they don't show live anymore as far as I saw. Thank goodness I got out with just a $75 trial. Everything else was just selling expensive recordings of "seminars" and what not. Selling more products on the "trading room" site to members who were already members, ad nauseum.

I would say for a free list of called trades, try tastytrade.com, but their record isn't that great either. rarely more winners than losers, they seem to justify carefully crafted option spreads in leu, or making up for poor TA directional strategies.

However, if you want to learn good option spread placement techniques, tastytrade is the best FREE way to go.
Particularly the Liz and Jenny show.

Maybe being rich and on a top 500 hedge fund is the only way to gain access to a really good list of monthly calls of trading stocks....i dunno other than doing your own analysis and picks.

or back to Cramer and "Fast Money" talking heads on CNBC.

EDIT: I just looked up investimonials.com ; they have a "top 100" of newsletters listing.

But advise to be careful. investimonials.com have obvious vendor sponsors such as Timothy Sykes and Jason Bond
as well as some brokers like TDAmeritrade. As seen on their "featured" listings. although there seem to be plenty of legit reviews by retailers allowed also.

@Cloudy, I looked at Investimonials and found a high rated Option "Newsletter" site called Steady Options. I signed up for their free 10 day trial. I like that they offer education and a active forum too.
