since I got many questions about my new dom, maybe better to start a new thread here.

my new dom is called 9G and was developed by our @1LotTrader. there is a free community edition for testing (only "sim", no "live" trades).

you can get it here: 9G Trading

it has many great features, performance is great (I didn't encounter any freezes) and very customizable. here're a few different looks:

edit 02/12/2014

there has been a change in the current market model and pricing:

Hi @Silvester17,

Will you please clarify your relationship with this vendor? Are you a regular paying customer? A business partner of some sort?

Thx.

sure. I'm not affiliated in any form. I was a beta tester and I'm a forum member. so basically I'm doing the same over there what I was doing over here.

Hey the DOM looks great definitely going to try this one out.
SO it only works with ninjatrader 7?
the 180$ is a lifetime license right

how exactly does it work , install ninjatrader, then install 9g dom?
definitely going to try this out. thanks!

Was interested in looking at this, but to get a demo version, you have to make 15 posts at their forum or purchase the dom. I was going to just buy it since it's very cheap - but then when I thought about all the contributions that have been made here at futures.io (formerly BMT), and the fact that I couldn't try it without making a bunch of posts at their forum, I just moved on. To be fair, I didn't request a demo directly from the site owner, and perhaps he would have complied. Upon reflection, I don't want to be bribed (by having to give information or money) in order to demo a product that I will have to buy in order to actually use.

hi @timefreedom,

moved my post over from here:

I understand what you're saying

please keep in mind, for other similar products, you have to spend hundreds of dollars just to get a sim version. and then you have to ask for a refund if you don't like it. so I think to make 15 posts (or $20) is not too much to ask.

I was a beta tester and I can tell you, there is an awful lot of work involved. and imo already the full price is an incredible bargain. I also understand about all the contributions here at bmt (did a little bit myself). but it also includes information and money.

@1LotTrader

I do like the suggestion that @Silvester17 made, if you would consider adding the vwap to your option list... my thought is then I could have a short/med/large time frame charts price action only and a 9G dom. Clean simple no thought needed. Vwap would give me a bias

thx in advance for looking

@Rad4633,

I would welcome that feature, however I don't think I would use it on the dom. I need to see the "history" of the vwap as well as the bands. so I prefer the vwap on a normal chart. but it certainly wouldn't hurt to have that option

also I think it would be better to post any suggestions here:

I started using 9 dom and found it more customisable than its competitors. I have another vendors product also. If you are looking for a dom better than ninjas dom , then this is a cost effective product.

I'm interested in taking a look at this new DoM and don't really care that it costs $180.00 but I have a few question first if someone doesn't mind answering. Is this comparable to Ninja's Dynamic or Static DoM? I prefer the static dom but to use it we get nailed with the TT tax of $0.20 / RT or something like that. Would this DoM negate the need for this extra fee? If so how do they get around the TT patent issues that Ninja couldn't get around. Thanks.

maybe I can answer your question.

that would be more like a static dom. you'll have different options to setup your dom. how and when to "center".

for the patent issue, it also depends what broker you use. like mirus or amp, that fee should be included in your commission. so no need to pay those "credits" twice

Cool, yeah after I wrote my question I went to youtube and watched some of the 9G videos, pretty impressive. It's basically static but includes an autocenter which totally bypasses the TT patent. Their patent is for static dom only.. any kind of autocentering works around that. Thanks for your quick response.

This DOM looks interesting

I use the Jigsaw DOM ... has anyone had the opportunity to compare the two ?

The Jigsaw bit uses the NT AT interface selection that makes scaling into an existing position impossible.
Has 9G found a way around this?

Maybe by not using AT interface?

Catch a man up on this product ...

not sure what you mean by scaling into an existing position. if you have a position and would like to add, then there's no problem with 9G

Yeah I just bought it too, very cool and fun. Ok here's a trick question for you. I'm trading GC and it's displaying the price with a comma seperator so the price is 1,237.4 for example. Any way to eliminate the comma and just see the whole number?

I know for treasuries you have a format option. don't think for other instruments.

if you don't mind, I'll post your question in the 9G forum.

Is the Community version just a locked out version of the live product? IOW if I down load the demo
version and get it set up with sim testing, can it just be activated or is another download required for
the live version ?

sorry about that. there're many things I don't know, especially about the forum. I was only a beta tester, but very happy he ( @1LotTrader ) implemented some of my suggestions.

the reason I moved your question over there is, as a vendor you're restricted here what you say about your product. don't want him to get in trouble.

btw my wife is a big fan of the anne of green gables novel

@Big Mike am I allowed to respond to the questions in this thread?

I can't remember the details of the rules. I know no self promotion is allowed, I can't remember if you are allowed to reply to questions in the vendor section. Happy to do that if it's not against the rules.

@Big Mike am I allowed to respond to the questions in this thread?

I can't remember the details of the rules. I know no self promotion is allowed, I can't remember if you are allowed to reply to questions in the vendor section. Happy to do that if it's not against the rules.

There's one way to find out .. let's hear it

Yes you can respond so long as your post is not self-promotion. If you need to go into more detail it is better to send a PM and then you can make a public post letting everyone else know you answered via PM to comply with futures.io (formerly BMT) vendor rules.

What are the comparison's between the 9G Dom and Jigsaw tools. Are they similar products or are they have distinguishable features that set them apart.

Well, I am certainly no expert and I probably use 5% of what either is capable of.

That being said the Jigsaw Stuff is a massive study in Order Flow and the 9G focuses more
on order entry. The "code" for 9G is open, however, and 9G gives you a platform to customize it to be
as complicated or as simple as you like.

I use the Jigsaw "Consolidated T&S" for judging market pace and keeping track of block orders. I keep both Dom's up but use the 9G for order execution because it does not use the NT "AT interface" , allowing for scaling into
positions . I have set up the 9G to be very simple. I have VP set up on both.

the 9G dom is "just" a dom. at least for now. I don't know what the plans are for the future. @1LotTrader might add a T&S (tape) later. that shouldn't be difficult for him to do. having said that, imho, having a dom like 9G, you don't need a tape. it just doesn't make sense to me to look at a dom and T&S.

with the build in volume ladder and the endless possibilities to customize your dom, there is really no need for a distraction like a tape. 9G provides enough information to enter a trade, manage a trade and exit a trade.

again, this is just my opinion and I realize different traders have different needs.

@optionzen,

certainly something you can add to his request list. for now you could manually highlight those levels.

btw, I prefer a different view of the value area. I much rather look at previous vwap and its first upper and lower sd bands

The 9G DoM has been a very welcome addition to my trading platform. As most of you know I am a Price Pattern trader but I also use Price Action to confirm entries and positions. I'm not using the Volume Profile capability of the DoM yet, I may do in time, however with some minor configuration I have been able to display exactly what transacted on the bid or the ask in real time along with the depth. A lot of people think the limit orders in the book represent supply/demand and don't realize that is only part of the story. What's hitting bids and lifting offers is what's really moving the market and I have a really clear view of this. Actually if anyone wants to see what I'm looking at I've uploaded a "Wolfie" spec on the 9G Resource section. It's freely available for anyone to download and use.

Thanks for the comments here guys. I really appreciate it.

@Big Mike , Matt reminded me via PM that I don't have a vendor tag. I completely forgot about it although have been so busy I haven't really been posting here much the last month or so.

If you want to change me to Vendor status please do so. I'm not sure if there is anything specific I have to do. My site is as mentioned on the title. I think last time I mentioned it to you a few months ago you said I should first have a site ready which is now up and running if you want to check it out.

Does the 9G DOM have the ability to keep a running total of limit orders being pulled at added at various levels?

Hi Annex,

It's not in the current version but is on the list of feature requests. I would estimate it making an appearance within the next 5 weeks or so, possibly sooner as it's on the short term list of things to do.

Hi Ross,

I know folks love to see competition, but is copying features from the Jigsaw tools really the best way forward for you, your business, and customers? Having others ask to add existing Jigsaw features seems a dumb way to run a new business. I would like to see unique differences giving us the option of using both tools if needed.

Even with thousands of traders already using Jigsaw, including me, there is still plenty of room for you to implement significant trading ideas to add value to our business. Plagiarism isn't good, and just tells me and others how good Jigsaw is.

Look forward to you looking outside the box and doing something new and useful for us order flow traders.

Hi Richard,

I'm not entirely sure what Jigsaw does or does not do as I've never tried it. I built my core product based on the way I trade and since releasing I have had requests for other features which I'm always happy to implement for customers if time permits and the request is reasonable.

Really my tool is not so much of a Dom as a base tool kit that traders can use to build any style of Dom they see fit, how guys then decide to chop and change the features is up to them. It is really quite unique and has allot of design flexibility. Have a look at this page if you are interested: Resources | 9G Trading

Many of those are user created designs which 9G provides the framework to create.

I'm trying to offer a quality product at reasonable prices. Try it out and see for yourself, I think you will find it offers many features and functionalities which are entirely unique across the industry. If you wish I can set you up with a Community Edition for free, just send me a PM.

Best

so, you're saying @1LotTrader asked @annex to ask for this feature? lol

you know it's kind of the same dilemma like with @devdas volume ladder metro edition. almost daily people ask him to add this feature and that feature. and as a really nice guy, he tries to implement as many as he can. even though most of those requests are totally useless and more of a burden than anything else.

I personally wouldn't use that feature about pulling and adding orders. for me it's just a distraction at best.

either way that was a rude remark. unless of course you have a specific agenda.

Hi Richard,

I think you are missing the bigger picture by only focussing on one potential feature.

Performance - comparable to XT, since moving over I have yet to see it struggle around news or high vol times
Cost - huge savings over XT and lesser competitors
Custom - I like to see data and execute exactly how I want

.....great execution pays for itself.

Your post had a bit of an edge and perhaps an inference that forced me to reply.

For someone complaining that another poster has an agenda, your post (and other posts you've made about this product) seem to indicate you have more of an agenda here than anyone. Please keep this in mind before making accusations.

To all,

I believe that in the world of trading there are very few truly new ideas. The differences are mainly firmly in the "execution" category, in other words how an idea is implemented. I don't believe it does anyone good to point fingers saying one vendor had the idea first or a second vendor is copying the first vendor.

Let's keep this thread strictly for customers of this product to share their experiences about it.

wow thanks a lot. I'll keep that in mind.

- my "post" was a reaction to that rude post (dumb, looking outside the box)

- show me a post where I said something negative about jigsaw

- yes, I recommend 9G, because it's a fantastic tool and you can even have it for free

- and finally your post shows who else has an agenda. so please keep that in mind as well before making accusations.

really disappointing

That's a terrible grasp of this situation. Don't often see you miss that bad, but if your comment about @Silvester17 having an agenda is based on the posts made in this forum, then it is both misplaced and unfortunate. If there is more to the situation that I am not aware of, then I apologize.

Hi Richard,
I'm not entirely sure what Jigsaw does or does not do as I've never tried it. I built my core product based on the way I trade and since releasing I have had requests for other features which I'm always happy to implement for customers if time permits and the request is reasonable. ... ...

Hi Ross,

My message got quite some reaction. Thanks all for that. Will just reply here once, just to show I am not a troll and certainly not coming here with an agenda of any kind. And more than keen to extract myself from any unnecessary conflicts!

I will follow up suggestions for a deeper comparison of tools and take it from there.

Good trading all.

I haven't used this DOM --- But it looks AWESOME. I think it is better than Jigsaw! :O Or at least has the potential to surpass Jigsaw!

I love the TABS on the bottom and the awesome SET UP Menu.

I have JigSaw - that is the one I have used -- but this one definitely looks awesome.

And the Pricing is great too!

Is there any possibility to get a free trial version? I would like to test the DOM before buying it.

@TradingSebi,

unfortunately the free edition is no longer available. there has been some changes recently:

9G Market Model and Moving Forward | 9G Trading

but even for a higher price it's well worth it, because you won't find a better dom

also not to forget, go borussia!!

I'm really liking this 9G Dom. I was only using the Ninja Dom before, which isn't bad..but I like this way more. I don't use a Dom for every type of trade..but when price is at certain levels of support and resistance, I think it becomes very helpful. This is much more customizable than the Ninja Dom. Visually I like it much better as well. You can really set up the buttons on it in numerous ways for your own preferences. Also I pulled up 3 Doms the other day including one for Gold and TF and when I checked ..it wasn't overusing my CPU resources to the degree that Ninja does..Not even close. So far, I'm very happy with it..especially when it comes to placing orders on the DOM. Even when I watched the NInja Dom, I would only place orders on their Chart trader. Now, I'm entering with the 9G and it's working great.

Failure is not an option

Ok for me mate, I think it was off for about 30 seconds at one point as I'm making some changes but should be good now.

Can you try it again and drop me an email if it's still giving you troubles?

with the 9g dom, the possibilities are almost endless. it can be a bit overwhelming at first.

optimus trading group ( @mattz ) made some great videos about the 9g dom. I believe those videos are very helpful.

-here are some videos about how to install, setup and launch the 9g dom:

-next is a quick overview and how you can customize your own spec:

-and also some videos about placing different orders and how to setup atm strategies, alerts and market order columns:

these videos will help to better understand how to use this fantastic tool

The 9G is quite daunting, at first, as the "code" is open. You will grow to love the programming as your bravery increases

The Lite and community should be the same now.
However, I believe that any new development to the old community edition would be updated only for those who will purchase lite.

I've been using this DOM for a few days now and I really like it. My favorite feature is that it's smart with stop orders VS Limit orders. I no longer have to use my middle mouse key when placing orders. I just use the standad left-click above and below the market. Much easier for me.

I also like the fact I can bracket a range with out entereing oco mode.

There a ton of cool features I haven't fully explored yet but so far I am really pleased. Nice job coding this!

It's great to be able to set up the functions just the way you want them. For example, I set up my breakout capture stop orders to be limit orders instead of market. Every single facet is adjustable ... Love it. So nice to just click above or below price and get exactly the order you need... Quickly

or you can add a button to your spec called order type lookup.

that way you can change from limit to stop market or stop limit order with a single click
