The Lite and community should be the same now.
However, I believe that any new development to the old community edition would be updated only for those who will purchase lite.

Thanks for the response; the initial announcement seemed to indicate a different approach:

As a good gesture to the guys that have supported me in the early part of launch and getting things off the ground, i.e. those that have taken it up already. You will all be moved on to 9G Lite which will be a paid for product and will be fully supported for a year. In terms of feature set it will contain the full set of features offered in CE (bar live trading as before). You will not be charged for it, but there will be no support for those who received it for free as before.

I paid the $20 and have been diligent in not requesting any support... I don't see what "moved on to 9G Lite means" if I just have the original CE download.

I apologize for the misunderstanding. Yes, the old community version will be supported for a whole year along with any updates.

I only wanted guys to see what they actually get and see it visually.
It is true that we have a JV with 9G and we fully support it, and being new to 3rd party add ons, I am a bit new to what is considered promotion or support.
My apologies to the community, and we will be very careful as far as the rules.
We have been a member for many years in good standings and we respect the community and rules.

Thanks for that pointer @Silvester17. I like that fact that you customize the interface extensively. I downloaded a few of their templates and like these 2 the best. Very simple / fast to read in the moment

They are titled Jet Black and Basic.

Hi FutureTrader,

If you had a CE licence before you will be able to download the 9G Lite version and your CE licence will work on 9G Lite. The old CE and Full Version pages have been removed and I'm putting up two new more accessible download links today as a widget on the main sidebar. One will be a link to download 9G Pro and one for 9G Lite.

In your case you will simply download the latest Lite version and your CE licence will continue to work as before with Lite.

Best
Ross

can you be a little more specific. I don't understand what you mean by splitting current trades at bid and ask. a trade either happens at the bid or the ask.

if you're talking about being able to see the volume traded at bid and ask over a certain period, then yes.

What I meant was the column ' Current at Bid" and " current at ask" on jigsaw Dom which show how many contracts hitting into the Bid or lifting the Offer right now and the number stays there until the price comes back then it clears.I dont see this feature on 9G Dome which only briefly flashes the number of contracts traded without showing it is struck at Bid or Ask. Thanks

sorry, I don't have jigsaw dom

I think this was asked and answered earlier in this thread. so if I understand you correctly, then 9G does not have this feature. as it would not be difficult to add this feature, I really question if this would be helpful or just being another distraction.

you say "stays there until the price comes back and then it clears". back from where? and how much later?

It's one of the main features of the Jigsaw DOM, and I think a lot of people of people find it very useful. Saves you from having to keep it all in your head.

You're right, it's not hard to add.

ok, but useful doing what? if someone pulls his bid at a lower level, 3 things can happen:

- place bid on another level (above or below)
- buy at market
- cancel the order (for good or wait a while)

that feature is not going to tell you what. so why would I waste my precious time figuring out something I anyway don't know.

on a more serious note. you're really confusing me
not too long ago, you were in taipei, then in rome and now in palma? you certainly come around a lot.

I think you misunderstood what me and futuretrader referred to. You seemed to talk about the Snapshort feature which shows how many contracts added to Bids or Offers. I am talking about the number of contracts hitting into Inside Bid or Offer Right NOW. You may not know about thay feature since you dont have JS DOM I think

As justtradeit says, you're thinking of something else, this is about contracts accumulated at a specific bid/ask level before it ticks up or down. As the level ticks up the amounts remain, so you can always see what traded to cause the level to move away. The amount is zeroed if or when it ticks back to the level.

I don't have jigsaw, but I built this into my chart DOM and found it quite useful, though I don't use it any more.

Re location, it's confusing for me too. It'd be easier if Mike would allow something like "Residence, No fixed place of."

Never lived in Taipei, though.....

indeed I misunderstood. sorry about that.

so this is kind of a volume ladder, but only for inside bid and ask. and that it will be zeroed again when going back to that level. but I'm still unable to see any advantage over a real volume ladder, which would be included in 9G

Well, perhaps if Ross includes it in a future edition you'll discover its use....

I've only just started seriously playing around with 9G, and find the built-in ladders frustrating because there is no history - so I'm working with some information on display, and then it suddenly disappears when a new bar starts.

It has also crashed NT at least once a day - I looked to see if there was a more recent version of the Lite edition on Optimus' website, but the only one I can find is the Pro edition.

Change the Period Lookback type to "Session" instead of min, range etc. This will give continuous session data and not disappear with new bar start.

I don't know if ross will include it in a future edition. but I know I'm not going to use it there's only little time, and I prefer to focus on important things. very briefly. before the trigger, I want to see how bid/ask reacts to volume at bid/ask. is there much interest or no interest at all. and if price goes the other way, then this is an opportunity with a small stop. and having the ladder right there with bid/ask is a tremendous help.

when you say frustrating because no history, isn't that the same with your feature? if price ticks back to the level, the amount gets zeroed?

anyway it takes some practice to get used to the ladder disappearing. in the beginning I did something similar to what @perryg suggested. normally I looked at a 4 range ladder. so in 9G, I started with a 10 range ladder. to have some kind of history. but this is no longer needed.

about the crashes, did you send a crash report / logs to ross? that should always help.

I suppose the difference is that it doesn't disappear at any arbitrary interval. Anyway, it's not "my feature", as I said earlier I stopped using it on my chart DOM; I was just trying to help clarify what it was and why people find it useful.

In general I don't think all these little tweaks make much difference to most traders' results, and certainly not to mine.

I sent reports - I should clarify for others that the crashes all occurred after I had been fiddling a lot with the design; otherwise it has been perfectly stable.

Nice dom particularly nice integration to the NT7 dom, easy entry of different order types, and the tab feature to save screen real estate.

If you're entering multiple Order types and doing so actively in a fast market it will certainly help with getting your orders out, however at this point the product doesn't have a mature feature list compared to say Jigsaw. I've read some enhancements are being planned though, and I'm looking forward to see what this product expands into. I then may consider purchasing it. Great work by the dev team, congrats.

Sands.

I was wrong about that; it crashed NT twice yesterday when I hadn't made any design changes.

The problem appears to have been caused by clicking on the bid/ask columns when the "Sell/Buy Action" was set to "Not Assigned". Removing the Action entirely seems to have solved it.

I have an order sitting on my 9G V 1.0.1.7 dom and all I want to do is move the target but I am unable to move the order without canceling it... its after hours, not sure if thats a factor.

I did a search for "Move order 9G Dom" and didn't find anything but a you tube video that was a little confusing. Followed the steps in the video and no joy, Anybody else able to move orders?

I don't know what kind of settings you have. there's an action "move order" that I use. and then I just have to left click in that column to move the order.

in the meantime you can always use the chart trader to move your order. also the last version is 1.0.1.8

edit: just in case, you'll lose your place in the queue either way. if you cancel or just move. so the outcome will be the same.

Thanks for the speedy response. I seem to have the same settings that you do except when I click in the price column it highlights the order but doesn't move it. I I click in the sell column it just adds another order. I don't think I was notified of a new version. Do you know where I can download it?
Thanks

sure. go here:

9G Trading

and then bottom right here:

so when you left click on the order it highlights. that's good. then you should be able to left click again at your new destination. that's kind of strange if it doesn't work

Yes - I agree odd, I see it working in the demo video. I'll load up the new version and give it a go. Thanks for the info!

Westsider

Hi westsider ,

Make sure you have the latest version, in Version 1.0.1.6 we had a bug with the order move functionality where the marker wasn't refreshing it's price level correctly.

This is sorted in the latest 1.0.1.8. Try it and let me know if you are still having probs.

Best

Howdy all

Back in Dec 2013
@Silvester17 introduced us/commented on to the 9gDOM

created by @1LotTrader
Then it was picked up/bought out whatever by @mattz of Optimus futures
Ok now we are all on same page

Before this change one had the opportunity to via post count or minimal monetary investment ck it out/test it out.
Since the transfer/acquisition it is now pay 500.00 you like great you don't your out 500 bucks.
I was just curious as to why @mattz went to this business plan.
From screenshots and posts by other well respected members looks like is an awesome tool.

responses with reasoning and common sense appreciated

edit: Believe original price was around 180 bucks

p.s. I mean no disrespect to any parties Was just asking

certainly a good question

I'm still confused what a vendor (in this special case a site sponsor with a different vendor product ) is allowed to post. self promotion is kind of a wide term...

maybe better to send a pm to either one

When we joined forces with 9G we offered the NinjaTrader platform since we thought it is a
really good tool for execution. After all, I always want to enhance the value of our user base.

Now that NinjaTrader has become a brokerage, it might be best to end it over back to Ross and determine its own pricing from there. Ross the developer is a super nice guy and brilliant in his approach.

There are 50 shades of vendor ranging from Brilliant White to Vantablack, diff shade get diff treatment. But by being designated as vendor they are all under watchful eye of Sauron.

If there is a specific question then ask it. Use the feedback forum not this thread. I have nothing to hide but at same time dealing with vendors is not black/white, just like trading.

As ninjatrader data feed is limited to certain brokerage firms ( for new NT licences), How is 9gtrading trying to position it self, will 9G develop doms for Multicharts or other platforms ?

Hi OptionZen,

There aren't any plans at the moment to head in that direction but I wouldn't rule anything out. At present I'm just waiting to see what Ninja 8 is going to bring to the table when it releases.

Hi dlatbm,

That link is no longer active as we've moved the Community Edition back to the main site. We're currently undergoing some changes due to the recent Ninja announcement regarding entry into the brokerage space.

As such I'll be once again distributing 9G Pro directly from my main site as well as offering CE from there as was the case before. I'm currently working in the background to put things in place, hence no official announcement. If you wish to download CE please visit my site. I will PM you the link.

The 1LDom that you have there was my very first incarnation of an order book that was based off of Gomi's Volume Foot Print. It was a completely free offering and at the time I was not in the "Vendor" space so was acceptable to have available on futures.io (formerly BMT), now that I offer a paid version of my newer product I cannot maintain it here for obvious reasons.

Best
Ross

Optionzen,

That's basically up to Matt, if they wish to continue to distribute and support 9G going forward then I'm perfectly happy with that. We have a very good relationship so will be continuing to work together. At this point in time I think they are still deciding on various product related strategies for the future so I can't say much more than that.

I'm continuing as I always have been, the main 9G site is open and I'll be supplying licences direct as well as offering availability of the Community Edition.

Support wise if you have any queries you can send them my way, this has always been an option though and I have always fielded the more complex issues in the background, so you shouldn't really see much difference. The product is still very much moving forward with development etc. So feel free to get in touch direct if you have any issues. When I have a clearer picture going forward of the final set up regards the relationship, I'll update.

Best
Ross

Yes, we will support 9G customers that have purchased via our site.
I think that we did a good job together with Ross in terms of supporting our customers.

This DOM is just amazing

I bought the Community Edition to give it a spin. Quickly got the hang of customizing it and I was hooked.

Had a couple of questions and Ross was very quick to respond. Decided to buy the full version so I can use it in my next combine.

Since switching to Ninja I've been struggling with the DOM and considered going back to T4 out of pure frustration. Now I can finally trade and not waste time and energy with the DOM

Greetings,

I do most of my own programming and creation of indicators and chart types etc.

I have an on the chart DOM I use and I have been reluctant to purchase the 9G.
I have had the Community Edition since the beginning but I have not used it much and I had it mostly to get ideas on how I should set my DOM up.

With the new pricing structure, I decided to bite the bullet and purchase a license.
I must say I am very satisfied with the product.
It is much cleaner than anything I have created.
It is also flexible and I don't have to 'tinker' with code to get it to do what I want.

Hi Silvester,

I tried asking on the forum a while back and got no reply hence asking here. From what I read they don't offer the Community Edition any more. I tried the download link on the page but it doesn't seem active... How does their DOM compare to Sierra?? Do they have last Bid & Ask Columns?

I see. but a lot changed since then

the management is under @1LotTrader again. the community edition is back. I don't have sierra charts, but I can't imagine anything the sierra dom offers that 9G doesn't. you can create as many bid / ask columns as you wish and lay them out as you please. no limitations.

I'm not sure if ross will be traveling the next few days. but you could send him a pm (conversation under inbox)

regardless of skin, custom session template, instrument or just default vanilla settings, total volume|bid and ask volume|volume profile are not updating once the DOM is opened

Any suggestions?

Well that session map says SPI RTH, i'm guessing that 5 hours ago was not RTH, can you swap to ETH?

yes I am, however I primarily want the DOM for ASX/SNFE where level 1 and level 2 are combined. I get the 10 deep bid and ask quotes and their corresponding quantities updating live, but the total volume, volume profile total bid and total ask are not updating

Hi @1LotTrader

I've uploaded a video to illustrate the problem I am having with non US contracts - no volume profile or bid offer volume
the total vol number - not sure where that comes from as the total of 2846 which is shown is the quantity displayed when I first open the DOM for the session, and then it remains stagnant, not updating, for the remainder of the session.
Although the SPI traded below 5738 to a low of 5725, there is no volume displayed as having traded between 25 and 38

hope this makes sense

thanks in advance

Thanks KickMic,

I'm having a look at it now. I think this thread is supposed to be for vendor reviews. So I'll respond to you on my support site or via PM with a potential solution. I just need to run a few tests to isolate problem in the mean time.

Hi Kickmic,

In relation to the support privileges, the reason for that is that the Community Edition is an unsupported version of the product as shown on the product page here. 9G Community Edition | 9G Trading.

You can however post in other sections of the site such as here: 9G Trading Dom | 9G Trading, where often times the community itself can help to resolve, I monitor all sections and field these queries when time permits, or communicate via PM when I can as we have done.

Best

Does the 9G DOM have the ability to keep a running total of limit orders being pulled at added at various levels?

Was this feature ever implemented? If so, is it available in the community edition?

If I currently have direct edition of NinjaTrader which is limited in functions, will this DOM allow me to use ATM strategies? It is unavailable in direct edition.
All I'm looking for is pre-defined target/stop at entry.

Thanks!

Hi PavelFD,

9G uses the internal routines of Ninja to accomplish various tasks like submit an ATM strategy. These routines will check the appropriate licencing restrictions and implement them as intended by Ninja. So in your case you will be unable to submit ATM's via the Dom as the direct edition of Ninja has limited ATM support.

In version 2 I may consider writing custom ATM's so that 9G can offer this functionality on the DOM regardless but I'm waiting to see what NT8 brings to the table first with the new SuperDom.

Hello there,
I'm considering buying full version of 9G and have some simple questions. I'd appreciate any help I can get.
Does 9G highlight current price, entry price, does it allow for 1 click break even regardless if the ATM strategy selected or not,
can you add subtract amount of targets, stop loss.
Thank you.

@mbz1232,

it's always a bit tricky for a vendor to answer questions here without violating forum rules (self promotion). it would be better to send a pm to @1LotTrader, or post any questions in the 9G forum:

9G Trading

in the meantime here's what I can tell you:

- current price can be highlighted
- entry price can be highlighted
- the other 2 questions, I'm not exactly sure what you mean

Jigsaw is a great product and I own it but to be honest I do not like the $50/mo required to trade with it, after purchasing the product outright. I can lease Sierra chart and pay CME fees for the same cost as Jigsaw just to trade with it, and I have to buy it too.

Hi, the 9G website was being spammed by various bots for over 6 months and I guess @1LotTrader decided to take it down in May 2016. He had mentioned that the website needed to be updated to stop the spammers.

Anyway, I hope that the site will be up soon and that development of the 9G DOM for NT8 is still progressing.

Would be great to get an update from Ross.

Err...not replying to the forum, taking down the website for 4 months because of DNS attack? Sorry but that doesn't add up at all. Optimus used to be a vendor for him and all that material relating to 9g has been removed from their site as well. SOmething more is going on than 'website maintenance'

9G is for ninja trader only and optimus is not on the NT list for brokerage options. meaning optimus can no longer offer the ninja trader platform to new costumers.

We partnered with Ross to help out with 9G distribution. However, we could not maintain this partnership because we were asked to remove any material that was related to ninja platform by NinjaTrader when they turned into a brokerage as well. 9G was a NinjaTrader addon only.

I also tried to reach out to Ross, and did not hear from him either.
He is a talented and decent guy and I also wish him well.

I suggest you examine the DOM from MarketDelta, Sierrachart and the new TT.
They offer lots of good functionalities.

Sorry that I could not offer any further help.

....yeah, I posted in June when the website had been down for just a month. It's now a few months on and I guess there is more going on. I had hoped that it would eventually be back up and all the suggestions for NT8 development, the 9G templates and some of the excellent order flow trade journals would be back online. At one stage it did seem that Ross was deep into NT8 development for 9G judging by the responses to our suggestions for new functionality, and this was going to be a free update for existing customers. It doesn't look like it's going to happen now.

I'm not sure where this leaves existing customers - I'm still using 9G DOM with NT7 but not sure what I'll do when I eventually make the jump to NT8....still not keen on the new NT SuperDom (unless someone is kind enough to build some volume at bid and volume at ask columns into it) so I may end up paying the subs for my Jigsaw D&S for live trading.

Sorry that you're going through this - it's a shame that Ross is not around to deal with his existing customers. I'm still using 9G, but aware that there is now no support if anything goes wrong :-/

Stick with products like jigsaw where the owner of business has been constantly developing , responsive, strong business model and the price is unbeatable for the support . Products like jigsaw don't diissaper within in 2 years, that speaks of strong ethics and customer orientation.

I have 2 install files. Send me a private message if you're still looking.

Versions are 1.0.1.12 and 1.0.1.14.1 dev.

I still have not heard from Ross about this so I assume 9G will not continue unless someone has the source code etc.

I see the domain name will expire this month and if it is not renewed then the rest is obvious if it was not already.

I was one of the early users even before Ross started the current version and I must say it was an awesome work.

I still have not heard from Ross about this so I assume 9G will not continue unless someone has the source code etc.

I see the domain name will expire this month and if it is not renewed then the rest is obvious if it was not already.

I was one of the early users even before Ross started the current version and I must say it was an awesome work.

Yes,it's a shame. Such a good product

Unfortunately it's also impossible to re-install using the install files as the installer tries to contact a server and download some files

A possible solution is to copy over a directory structure from an existing working install

This does pose another problem with the license. I have re-installed my Ninjatrader without having problems with 9G DOM,because I just keep the Ninjatrader directory intact. I also have several backups in several locations online and offline just in case

To succeed in trading you need to think like the minority ,so you won't end up like the majority

@cejstrup

You are lucky. I'm trying to find a way to reinstall it again. I don't know if i can use your installer or files for what you have, but really will be nice to have a solution for that
