Just a suggestion. I’m a very loyal jigsaw DOM user but I do use other products for general charting. Most recently I’ve been giving edgeprox a try, and although I prefer the Jigsaw DOM in almost every conceivable way, they do have an awesome feature on the histogram bars that represent the bid/ask on the ladder, where the bigger orders are represented by darker blocks within the bars and they move towards the inside as they get closer to front of the queue.
Simply put when bigger orders remain in the book as they get closer to the front of the queue, there’s a higher chance they’re real (not spoofing) and are looking for a fill. Not sure if this is an MBO thing or not but it is a nice feature. Perhaps it’s something you guys might look into?

It is definitely an "MBO thing" and comes from the base software Motivewave that EdgeProX was developed from...

Apologies in advance if this is the wrong place for my questions. I've been watching several of the webinars and videos that FIO has done with Peter Davies, and am very interested in learning more about Order Flow trading and possibly using Jigsaw. I currently am on the Tradovate platform, which has a very limited DOM tool.

1) Does anyone have experience using Jigsaw/Daytradr integrated with Tradovate? If so, how has your experience been, etc.?
2) Does anyone know if Jigsaw/Daytradr is compatible with MacOS? I have searched and been able to find limited info.

Thank you very much!

Jigsaw doesn’t integrate per se with Tradovate (as it does with NT) but can use the data feed provided by Tradovate if you use them for your executions. You can trade directly from the Jigsaw DOM if you purchase the Jigsaw trading license, or you can use the DOM and execute directly from the Tradovate platform to save some money. Tradovate feed works fine with Jigsaw. Tradovate has both Windows and Mac apps (clunky IMO). Jigsaw is strictly a Windows app. I have an older Mac mini with a Bootcamp partition dedicated to just Jigsaw and it works fine. I tried using Parallels to run both Windows and OSX and it was too slow and Jigsaw wasn’t getting sufficient resources to function properly.

I don't have much to add to Cowpox reply, just 2nd'ing it. I use Jigsaw on a Macbook Air running Parallels, no issues. I also have a Tradovate account, and like he mentioned you can connect Jigsaw to your Tradovate feed and trade off the dom, but you need a live license which is $50/month or $500/year. No issues with lag or anything, had no issues on any front.

If you want to see more Jigsaw in action content, besides Peter's/Jigsaws content, check out John Grady on YouTube, he goes by No BS Daytrading. Treasury scalper who uses Jigsaw, watching his content was what sold me. Content is a bit old just FYI. Also converted me from trading CL to trading treasuries and haven't looked back.

I'll echo what the two post's above say. It is very easy to connect Jigsaw to the Tradovate feed in the daytradr connection manager.
Regarding the $50/month trading licence you need for Jigsaw, that is when you are placing "real money" orders. You can create sim accounts in daytradr and practice on the platform without that licence fee while learning the platform/order flow.

You do not win as a trader, you just get to play again the next day. If that game doesn’t appeal to you then you should not trade. Gary Norden

Thank you all very much for the responses! That's exactly the kind of insight I was hoping for. I will definitely look into John Grady's videos, as well as possibly running the Parallels Desktop as a workaround for Mac OS.

(edited for additional question) Have you used the Jigsaw "Basic Order Flow Training" videos and if so, did you find them helpful? I see that John Grady offers both a basic and intermediate training video course as well on his website.

Best,

-J

hello,

I Use the DOM to make the entries exits.
Is there a way to show these trades to any of the charts that i have opened in my workspace (minute or footprint or auction vista)
Cant find this setting. Maybe an idea for next update?

You can't do this currently, but I am told by Jigsaw support that the ability to show trades on charts is a high priority.

Is there documentation showing how to customize the dom columns? That is, documentation that can be reviewed prior to purchasing?

Jigsaw dom columns are pretty customizable but not sure if there is documentation available outside of the program. There are quite a few Jigsaw videos available on YouTube, some of them explaining how to use certain program features, so that would be worth checking out. DOM colors can be changed, and each available column can be turned off or on as desired. Columns can be moved around to the order you prefer. Depth of bid and offer can be set to your preference. Contract size execution on T&S can be filtered. Available options include: bid and ask size (but not how many distinct players are bidding or offering), bid/offer 'snapshot' (bids and offers added or pulled), comments, trade column with queue position and open P&L, volume profile as well as bid and offer histograms, executions at bid and at offer, and probably more that I'm forgetting. Changing things is very easy and intuitive; if you have specific questions about availability of certain options just ask or shoot an email to Jigsaw support.
