Here's another great piece of Excel-based software for Trading Journals:

Trading Journal Spreadsheet

Although they offer no free trial, the software has got a lot of features and fair pricing.

I've used this journal from TJS for the last few years and it has worked well. The vendor is also very quick to respond/support which is a plus.

Before you attempt to beat the odds, make sure you can survive the odds beating you.

makes me wonder whats wrong with me? I've got 25 years of Windows software development and professional Q/A testing under my belt, I'm experienced.

Hi Gary,

The Romans would say ipse dixit.

While it's not my place to say whether there's something wrong with you, I do wonder why a person with 25 years of SW development under his belt keeps posting about his inability to navigate a simple forum, like this one?

I DO NOT know how to communicate on this forum, as have been saying from the beginning.

Thanks for the comprehensive reply. Sorry if this isn't right format. I DO NOT know how to send / receive properly on this forum.

I guess my message got to you, but still have difficulty navigating here. Wish we could just read and send messages.

As usual here I don't know where or how to reply on this site, or really where to find messages. I find the whole forum very non-intuitive.

.... and so on.

This forum is pretty much like any other forums in terms of user-friendliness.

The scenarios I can think of to rationalize this are
  • Some sort of identity crisis
  • Being disgruntled with the site owner
  • Some genuine request for help (in which case I would expect specific questions to specific problems)
  • Trolling

...unless you can come up with another one?

hi @garyhi

I just saw that you have deleted your original post - it is absolutely your prerogative to do so, although to better understand what you need I'm not sure it's the best approach.

Personally I have found many many people on this forum are very helpful, if help is what you're after.

Is there a specific question you need help with, either with the forum or with this Excel sheet?

TJS - FAQ says there is no broker import.
Are you manually inputting price / date time etc.?
TradeVue and TradingDiaryPro have better way to bring in execution data in to the journal.
Any thoughts ?

I trade CL intraday.
I have bought both Trading Journal Spreadsheet and TradingDiaryPro.
TradingDiaryPro has direct connector to IB data and downloads activity at a click of button.
I think TDP is bit more powerful being SQL Server database driven than TJS which is just a spreadsheet.
