Hiya,

I have heard a good news about Mathematica and thus I interested in Wolfram Finance platform. Per my inquiry the platform costs about 10K EUR for annual license and its needs about 2K+ data fee. Can someone confirm if there is possibility to use a cheaper license and on what grounds can we request hat license?(Mainly for FX market)

At the end, how much this program is useful for creating and developing strategies and analyzing the RoI of invested capital under that scheme? Will it calculate VaR etc? And how much its useful overall depending to lowest available fully featured license for application and data feeds costs?(Mainly for FX market)

Insightful professional advanced response very welcome here. Feel free to talk like top leading edge technology researcher and we will contribute.

Also please advise how this can be compared to MATLAB based analysis of financial markets? (Mainly FX)

Tnx and best of luck

I am currently using Mathematica for other reasons and I am paying 22USD per month, I use the online platform which is a lot cheaper than buying or renting the desktop version. Apparently their finance platform is a completely separate product. I have been looking around and there is not much material to understand what can actually be done through the platform.
That is in itself is a bad signal for me because if it's not much advertised, I guess there will be few choices to integrate the platform with brokers.

Sorry that I don't have any info on the finance platform.

@SBtrader82, not sure if you've heard of this. You can get a free copy of Mathematica by purchasing a RPi and installing raspbian. I have a Pi4 and have Mathematica v12 on it. With the case and all the fixins it was a little over $100.

Edit: install xrdp on the pi and you can remote desktop to it. That's what I do.

Hiya @SBtrader82

Thanks. The thing that concerns me is, if the platform of Wolfram Finance worth its fee, and will it give me a better analysis approach than previously developed applications. While my concerns are if a platform like Metastock can be the same as useful as this Wolfram Finance or not?
The bad aspect of Metastock is its paid plugins and indicators and systems, while everything costs hundreds to thousands to purchase(if you pay for a well-developed plug, indicator, system product) will it worth the money? Also, the cost of purchasing the platform and monthly data feeds ix an extra charge over it.
Comparing to MT4 that 99% of items written for it are publicly available.

Also, there will be a learning curve and time that spend on learning how to develop your ideas into code in Wolfram Finance, but I don't know will if it worth it? This is the second cost after the platform's cost and its data feeds cost.

I always look to find the best of the best technical analysis platform and I couldn't find it yet? Technical analysis platforms do you use?

Tnx and best of luck

Hiya @ brach

Thanks. What is special about R-Pi? There is slimline portable mini-PC and lightweight laptops that can do much better in mobile computing. If you don't mind, may I ask what do you exactly implement this R-Pi for?

That's a good idea!! Thanks a lot.

I can understand the frustration of not getting any interest, but it actually is not a good idea to create a new thread to generate more interest in the topic. It simply fragments the topic between different threads, which can make the topic harder to follow. We discourage, and generally close, duplicate threads, to prevent a split topic.

Since the new thread has gone on for long enough to accumulate a number of posts, I have copied all those posts over to this original thread on the Wolfram Finance Plarform. They have been inserted here in date order, so some may appear out of sequence with a few of the recent posts in this thread.

I am closing the new thread to prevent a split topic.

It's perfectly understandable to want to revive interest this way, but your new posts here will bring the topic to people's attention if they have an interest.

I'm also moving this thread from "Platforms and Indicators," its original location, to "Trading Reviews and Vendors," which better indicates its purpose.

Hopefully there will be more interest in this topic going forward.

Bob.

Hi @Blonde

Mostly it's mostly for hobby / learning. I have an electronics kit that I can try various projects with to learn more about that topic. I use the Mathematica sometimes. Other than that it's available in case I need another computer to run stuff on e.g. some long-running process or utility.

I don't know about the finance platform, but anything by Wolfram is excellent. Mathematica is an indispensable tool in all the sciences, particularly physics which is what I use it for. The big advantage is that the tutorials are great and there's a community for support. You'll find a lot of very interesting people in the community.
