Just started using Rancho Dinero and Acme Trade Analytics for Ninja Trader.
Rancho Dinero and Acme Trade Analytics is a Market Profile 3rd party addon for Ninja Trader Platform. Various membership levels entitles one to various suites of Market Profile indicators and trade planning tools and strategies.
I participated in a webinar put on by Ninja Trader for its members, and was offerred a discount because of my participation. Customer service is very important to me, because my computer skills are terrible. Trading is difficult enough without having to spend time figuring out how to make charts and indicators work, and Market Profile adds another layer of challenges because of the intensity of the information that Market Profile demands. The webinar convinced me to subscribe.
It occurred to me, it is a little presumtuous to post information on a vendor without permission from futures.io (formerly BMT). I am not associated with rancho Dinero in any way, except as a client.
A big reason for me to go with Rancho is because I already am Ninja Trader user. For what my needs are, I wanted to keep things as simple as possible, for one. Two, as a Canadian I am restricted as to what order entry platform I can use. As many of you know, opening a brokerage account isnt quite like getting a magazine subscription. For me, as a Canuck and resident in Ontario, I have limited options. Not all brokers have all trading platforms liscenced for use by Canadians. Ninja Trader is a platform that seems to be one of the most widly available (which may or may not be true, as I can only speak from the fact that I have made inquiries at 6 brokerages and have accounts at 3 seperate ones. One firm put me on liquidation only mode before I had even funded my account! Needless to say, they aren't one of the accounts i have today)
Dont have any cristisims at the momnet. Customer service has been great. I had a configuration issue, and Troy from Rancho got back to me withing 30 minutes and helped me with my problem. They seem to have a good relationship with Ninja Trader, because it was Ninja trader that introduced me to them through their client webinar.
Setup videos are straightforward, and the templates and tools seem to be terrific. They even have downloadable chart templates which is a huge time saver for various compostite studies.
So, all in all, my first experiences have been very good.
Upcoming member only event gets into topicsof interest for users of their software. I am looking forward to these, as they are brand new. First one is May16, 2012.
Looks like I signed up at just the right time.
The following 5 users say Thank You to VinceVirgil for this post:
Sounds like you're quite thrilled with their webinar.
Speaking from experience, every vendor under the sun is going to post their best trades on a webinar.....for the exact reason that you signed up.....to convince the audience that their system is a money making system, its impossible to lose money.
Only after shelling out "X" amount of dollars do you realize that what you saw in the webinar is not what you purchased.....not even close.
Thats why whenever I watch a webinar, if the vendor doesn't show the audience some of their losing trades, or when they got stopped out......I simple close it out.
They are not selling a trading strategy. They are a 3rd party addon for Ninja Trader.
Just to clariify for other interested readers, Rancho Dinero does not sell a strategy on how to trade. They only provide the tools for Ninja Trader for those traders who want to focus on a Market Proflile approach to trading.
How is it possible for you to comment on a company that you are unfamiliar with? The purpose of this thread is to provide insight into Rancho Dineros suite of Market Profile Indicators based on my personal experience.
I have a link to their website.
On the Webinar, I asked a numnber of questions with reguard to their suite of Market Profile Indicators. Ninja Trader does not have any Market Profile Indicators that i found particularily useful, thats why I looked to Rancho Dinero as a possible option.
Their sole business is Market Profile tools, and the programmer is an active trader. He started the business after developing his own tools for trading as the existing software available at the time he found was lacking in a number of areas. He comes from an IT development background, and , he certailny knew what he was talking about. At least in my opinion he knew what he was talking about. He answered all of my questions.
If I didnt think that Rancho Dinero was worthwhile, I wouldnt have become a subscriber. I based my decision on the webinar and their point of sale material on their website, as well as on their training videos that are free to reveiw. The business model seems sound, the products are well thought out and easy to use, the trainng videos and webinar are top drawer, and the price was reasonable compared to other charting packages i have reveiwed. They are not the least expensive that I have looked at, but they certainly more elaborate than other program suites.
When i had trouble loading the template and configuring charts, customer service replied to me withing 15 minutes, and helped me within 30 to get me up and running. Personalized service was exceptional.
Screenshots are only market profile related to what I am configuring...the website has all more information.
The following 8 users say Thank You to VinceVirgil for this post:
Don't make me laugh, no one sells anything out of the kindness of their heart, they do it to make money.
Thats great that they "get back to you within 15 minutes" and stuff, but who cares?
Tell me how you've performed using their "tools."
As I said before, which I shall repeat just for you, I'll keep an eye on this thread to see how you've performed.
And as far as your earlier comment, on why do I think I'm qualified to comment on a company I'm "unfamiliar" with.......well once you've seen one webinar, you've seen 'em all.
I highly recommend you don't take things personally on any forums, if you do, you sure won't last long.
People are going to post their own opinions whether you like it or not.
Around 5% move the market. 10% try to follow the 5%. The rest provide liquidity.
The following user says Thank You to SpyderTrader for this post:
In all value propositions, a fair exchange has taken place when both buyer and seller are satisfied with the outcome of the transaction. I beleive the cost of the Rancho Dinero suite far outweighs the cost, for me, from a value proposition. I made my decision, I subscribe to the service, and if I see it fails to have value, I will cease to be a subscriber.
Maybe I will come to feel as you do about all venders. Simply, I do not.
There are 2 kinds of individuals that frequent forums.
There are the ones that take the subject matter seriously, and seek to understand the efforts put forth by people that take the time to write something that they hope will help their fellow readers. These ones exhibit a certain of decorum, insofar as they attempt to fully understand the subject matter before venturing an opinion.
Then there is the second type. They neither have the ability or the inclination to offer an original thought of their own, and thus they spend their time frequenting forums to expound their unoriginal ideas behind the anonymity of cyberspace. I dont personally see the point, but, whatever floats your boat.
Its not the first time I have heard "all venders are out to make a buck and therefore cannot be trusted" rhetoric.

I used Troy's stuff for about 3 months, Market Profile is just not my bag. I did not sign up for the three months based on ANY strategy offeres, rather I did it because I was interested in checking out MP and Rancho Dinero's stuff works w/ Ninja Trader. I found the support to be outstanding and the product performed flawlessly when I had it. If I was into MP (which I just don't get it) I would probobly still be using it.
Granted, some vendors are not the greatest, but Troy and Rancho Dinero are OK in my book. If you are an MP type of person I think they have a lot to offer; Market Delta is another great MP tool, but it does not work w/ Ninja and is considerably more expensive.

Enough of whatever you guys are arguing about back and forth. It is not your job to police threads.
If you have a problem with someone, use the ignore feature. If a post violates the rules of the forum, use the report post feature.
We do not allow bickering back and forth. We do not allow arguing. If you want to have a civil discussion and debate, then you are more than welcome to do so. But the tone of recent posts is argumentative, and is not welcome and will not be tolerated here.
Certainly, Market Profile isn't for everyone. Then again, everyone needs to find their own method. Whatever works is the rule, because in the final analysis, the goal is profitability over the long term.
The biggest reason for me using Rancho Dinero is because I attempted to use the various Market Profile tools from Elite Downloads on futures.io (formerly BMT), and while many are using them to great success, I am not a competent programmer. I found it too hard to get them working. I need a more plug and play arrangement. Online help is a requirement for anything I do from a technology standpoint.
And the Market Delta stuff, tho it looked good, wasnt available through my broker.
I trade off a 5 minute chart on the CL, and i found that some of the concepts of Market Profile useful in helping to plan my trading day and helps me to focus on areas in which I beleive good value exists.
Thanks for your imput. Troy seems like a standup guy when it comes to his business. And he has some great tunes on his video tutorials. It seems to me he is doing many things right.
Thanks for your imput.

I was beginning to think it was just me. I have looked at the concept, like the way the charts look ... but I haven't figured out how to make it work for me.
This is Not a criticism of the concept, any vendor or the traders who subscribe to the trading technique.

I agree with you, Rancho tools are great. I am a lifetime member and I love all the tools he has. I am not trying to pitch his tools to anyone, but I find them useful for anyone trading or thinking about trading using MP/VP. There are other vendors out there that you could use, eg fin-alg, but they do not have things like Composite profiles, micro composites, intraday profiles, volumerangeprofiles and many other volume studies for a MP/VP trader. Troy is a great guy. Like others have said, his customer service is great.
Again, if you are not trading MP/VP, then this is probably (definately) not for you.
just my 2 cents.

I'm a new member to Rancho Dinero's ACME tools and glad to see there is Thread here on Big Mike's. I new to Ninja Trader as well, so its been a big learning curve to trying to get everything set up.
So far "El Duque" has been very responsive to my questions and his videos are pretty helpful. However, I wish he just had a pdf with screen-shots instead. Or if he could narrate the videos instead of music. Just my preference.
Look forward to see other posts on their experience with the ACME tools and/or tips on taking full advantage of the available tools. Perhaps we can get Big Mike have Troy do a webinar.

Looks like some well programmed indicators.
Just as a head's up, a majority of the indicators sold in their package are available for free here on futures.io (formerly BMT) through Gomi's indicators and Fat Tails Pivots and Initial Balance indicators. The only thing that they offer that isn't on futures.io (formerly BMT) is a quality Market Profile TPO indicator. Fin-Alg offers one for a fraction of the cost however if that's what you're looking for.
Anyway, see for yourself if anyone is looking to emulate those indicators. The one thing I like about GOM's indies are they're bid/ask data vs. NT Tick File.

We do not allow webinars or site sponsorships from vendors whose primary product or service includes selling indicators, strategies or a trade room signal calling service.
Whats the policy on links to offsite webinars? Ninja Trader has a webinar posted on their site where they hosted Troy from Rancho hwhere he talks how he came to develop Rancho Dinero suite and why, and answers some trading queries.
Rancho is a software company only, and they only provide the the Market Profile tools for evaluating the market. They dont sell strategies, or run a trading room, or indictors that will point out where to enter or exit the markets.
Only wanted to point that out, as it was explained to me, and from using the tools over the last couple of weeks. You really use the tools to build your own market profile strategy.
Troy talks about how he trades using the tools, so his webinar involved answers of how he trades . The Rancho Suite is just the tools and templates one overlays on Ninja Trader to put into chart form Market profile concepts and have a semi computer illiterate like myself build market compostites to better contextualize the market one is trading.

I have not looked closely. Is he a master trader with a strong educational background and a history of teaching/educating traders? Or is he a programmer/developer? If developer, then a webinar on futures.io (formerly BMT) is not a good fit. If a master trader, then I will investigate further.
As I said, I have no problem with you guys discussing his product or services. The above was simply in response to a futures.io (formerly BMT) hosted webinar.
Strong educator/background? Dont know. But he was a good speaker...I got something out of it, but, thats me...
I would say more program developer. But, he wrote the software because he traded equities for his own account and wrote the Market Proflile tools to help him when he switched to trading futures a few years ago. He is a trader, and he fielded trading questions.
He wanted to use Market Profile, but he found the existing software wasnt quite to his liking and was too expensive. So he wrote his own. Thats what he said in the webinar.
Not sure if he would be a good fit for futures.io (formerly BMT). You have had some very good speakers.
For those of us that cant write their own code, or adapt existing code to their trading, particularily Market Profile, it seems like it would be a help.

I wanna follow FT71 method but still unsure whether I should just subscribe to IRT straight away while i m still learning and demo trade his method (my concern is the high cost of IRT n data while i m still learning and havent made any profit yet). Can anyone tell me whether I can use Ninjatrader with Gomi MP indicator or the pack from Ranko Dinero to replicate FT71 works in Ninjatrader to learn the method and save the cost first?
Hope to have your opinions. Thanks alot
The following user says Thank You to justtradeit84 for this post:
Ft71 uses the concepts of Market Profile in his trading, and therefore, if you learn the basics of market profile (like from Daltons book Mind over Markets) you can adapt the Rancho Dinero Suite to Ninja Trader, as it has everfything a Market Profiler needs. Gomi does as well, however, I found it a challenge to adapt it to Ninja Tradrr, as I am a poor programmer.
I want something that is consistent and therefore, I went with Rancho because of the integration of various studies and charts as well as the how to videos and accesss to tech support if I need a specific question answered. Yes, you have you be a member, but, the time it saves me is worth the cost of admission for me.

Using Gomi Volume ladder and would like to know how I can get Delta Divergence /Cum. delta/Total Volume under the ladder like Rancho does. I have it setup similar but the values are off. Volume looks correct but not seeing corrleated Delta Divergence as compared to what Rancho is showing. It's a 5 range chart for the ladder and I'm trying to get similar data on the number blocks below the chart. Anyone help? I'll include a screen shot.

That was a variable moving average or VIDYA. You just have to anchor the moving average to the CD vs. the underlying market and make sure the moving average is selected to be in the same lower pane as well. Its been a very long time since I've used that but I think that's how I did it.

Hi all, Any specific tools that shine out as good/bad in your view? From taking a look at their offering there are some free tools that do same or similar things. Granted it does look a polished product and that comes across in the existing posts.
Secondly, personally I'm after some order flow analysis tools, any feedback from your guys use of this suppliers offering in that area?
Plus is the vendor communicative for enhancements etc?
Have been using these tools since the beginning. They are quick to answer and they have begun to adapt their tools to Ninja 8. In my mind, they are an important Ninja partner. There are no free tools that compare to their suite.

Well, we've had literally tons of questions about what's happening on The Ranch now that NT8 is out. The short answer - all kinds of stuff. We have a bunch of brand spankin' goodness for y'all, simmering away, waiting for NT8 to get to just the next level of stability before we start unleashing new products.
I have a plan in mind for how to roll out the NT8-based products for those of you who want to be early adopters. I'll send out some email once we're ready to get that going.
But the short take is that this fall and winter we'll have a bunch of familiar and new products for you, and even a new web site, so stay patient and stay tuned. Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither was The Ranch.

I believe you have completely missed the point.
Your post was written so that it looks like the content was yours. In that case it looks as if you are a vendor at Rancho Dinero, have not identified yourself as a vendor on the site, are in violation of our self-promotion policy, and so forth.
-- I edited this post a couple hours later to add "it looks as if" just to make my post even more clear -- because Troy at RanchoDinero twitter-stormed me saying I made accusations and so forth.
I encourage everyone to read the thread, it takes about 60 seconds and it should be extremely clear that the entire issue here was @sharmas's post which read as if he actually wrote what he posted, which he did not. I knew he did not, which is why I made the post I did to clarify that he did not for everyone else. Unfortunately, the owner of RanchoDinero doesn't agree and we've wasted an hour on Twitter because someone can't read the thread.
It was an email that was sent and so happened to the question was asked and i updated.
Here is what i was sent like any other customers of Rancho...
To be accussed of things that you are not is against my values and the prove is here...

Just in case you would like to have a short look at a few of the new Rancho NT8 tools I made a short 7min video of it. The video is here in my trade journal.
It's not all the tools available in Troy's NT8 beta Rancho NT8 beta (beta on a beta) but a little over half I think. And so far so good but I have not had a ton of time with them. It's obvious to me these are considerably on purpose lacking features as compared to his NT7 tools but I feel those other similar features will come once NT8 works out it issues.

I wish I really really do.... When Troy's NT8 Beta Acme beta tools first came out I had some minor issues and sent him a video and a screen shot. In the video I made a new chart for him so he could see everything I was doing. In the video I clicked the box for "Tick replay" and Troy emailed back saying, as well as updated his site with the same info he was telling me in the email which was, for his stuff one should not and does not need to check that box it will only make the chart load slower. Basically he codes in a way that is more efficient in getting the tick data as I understand, being the ex Microsoft guy he is and co-owner of software patents as he is he seems to know C# like few others?
I'm going to mess around with it much more today.
Do you or anybody know where NT8 stores the indicator presets one can make per indicator please?
Thx

Hi
Mike from Critical Data Associates, great guy chat on Skype now and again, very open to new good ideas is taking a trading break currently and said would be working on his VolPro indicator for NT8 but gave no timeframe. Best dollar for dollar value for sure. And calling his vol pro tool an indicator borders on blasphemy ...lol... It does so much and it's cache files used to create the profiles are just great, but you don't have to use them you can have it make profiles off incoming tick or minute data too. Only things I would say is the leaning curve is steep and it's not nearly as polished as say Troy's Rancho tools.
Also use Price Squawk market sounds and Graham has a resettable profile on this tool and boy has he put a ton of work into Price Squawk and relatively recently added voices as a sound choice, sounds like the trading pits of old...lol, neoHarmonics tools but only occasional use them for some market geometry type stuff Daniel's volume profile tools IMHO are lacking and only make a profile directly off the charts current bars so for example if you have 30 min or say 60 min bars you are going to get a profile lacking a great deal of granularity. Peter's JigsawTrading tools too. His Auction Vista heatmap and Depth and Sales DOM along with his Reconstructed Tape and Summary Tape are just so Rock and Roll ....no words no words they should have sent a poet....lol
But the tool I love the most hands down is Microsoft Excel with either Troy's market study tools for dumping data into Excel, Rainbow-in.com for dumping the data into Excel or SteamWriter C# code to do the same which I have only done once... https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/8bh11f1k.aspx and then pull out market edges/high probability edges related to market generated info not really from lines save for perhaps VWAP which I am toying with to see if there is an edge for me.
How about you?

Honestly sounds smart to me. Being in a hurry to trade is a sure way to transferring your cash to other traders acct IMHO. Being flat is a position. Waiting for a sale or high prices is a better way to shop/sell in the grocery store as an analogy (albeit in a two way auction grocery store supplier/customer) and it is in trading too again IMHestO
Ok well I had to remove the UI.xml file because I had presets from the previous build of both NT8 beta 8 and Rancho beta 1 that was throwing an error. NT8 uses one huge massive xml file to store all indicator presets which I feel is a very bad idea, but what do I know. Very hard to go in and delete just the preset from just one indicator without running the risk of corrupting the file. Because if you can't place the indicator in the Configure section in the indicator window you can't remove the preset the regular way. But now all is fine with the Acme Session Vol Pro indicator. I will try to extract the preset from for the Acme indicator so I don't have to go all over the place in NT8 and redo the presets.

Looking to post some screen shots and a video this weekend of Rancho NT8 tools. Wanted to earlier but have been having a number of issues with NT8 and 2 sick kids at home for 2 days in a row. Tomorrow I'm going to do a clean install of NT8 and hope that clears up some issues I'm having. This beta on a beta can be tricky stuff sometimes.

What I like about the NT guys is they get back to you right away even if they can't solve your problem. I was having issues with L2 in NT8; changing tickers in L2 would crash NT. They got back to me right away and told me they added it to the list of issues they need to fix. Nice guys, I says!

I think they might of over looked my email. Most probably because I was going back and forth with them on different things and there were many replies this way and I bet it got lost in the shuffle for a few.

Here is a shot of Acme Volume Impression. Something is still wrong with my NT8. I have not had time yet to do what Ninja support asked me to do but will this weekend. For example, on this chart if I move left to right or vice versa the profile on the chart's right disappears. I have not yet reported it to Troy because need to see if it NT8 first.

I have not found a way to work these "footprint" type charts into what I do. It always makes me feel like I'm looking through a pin hole. I do love this stuff, the tech of it all and the info, but I just can't seem to make it work. After about a week having the chart up I have just gotten rid of it and use the screen real estate for things that mean more to me, unfortunately. There might a few sound alerts on this chart I could use to sure up risk like the selling and buying exhaustion. I am will to try out this chart because it has new features I like including delta profiles. It would be on big bars so I can obtain a big picture.
The Rancho stuff is the only chart of his type I have used.

No problem of course......
Troy also has a "Hybrid" setting as well as Bid/Ask and this one (UpTick/DownTick). I need to understand better what Hybrid does. In NT8 there is currently a problem, which has been reported, in which the description of the different settings does not stay on the screen all enough to read and it's not word wrapped so this particular one "Evaluation strategy" runs from one side of the screen clear to the other side and off the screen all together and disappears (can not be found on the other screen). So I can't read just what Hybrid does.

Rancho came out with NT8 beta 3 tools about two days ago. Bug fixes and tweaking and NT8 AcmeTimeSlice.
I really need to fix my issues with NT8 because I'm having a hard time using these Acme tools because of it. Tomorrow I will dive in. Post more then too.

gom can do most of what any market and volume profile software can do...order flow to.. why not use the free stuff. it has been my experence they all keep coming up with new stuff and expensive up dates. what happens when there sales to new people slow or ninja 8 is released ? and expensive update required
I noticed that. I would certainly feel duped if that was me.

it looks like they forgot the tpo indicator they only use volume profile, no volume delta time tools...foot prints look o.k. ninja 7 will be supported for 2 years...if i had to pay for that kind of charting with ninja 8 i would buy finals complete lay out, it is 1000 for life time key...there complete lay out is like having market delta for ninja trader
Yes I purchased the nt8 upgrade for fin-alg which closely resemble market delta plus You get 2 pc licenses for volume profile I started using CDAvolume profile

A quick couple of lines.
I've used Investor RT for a couple of years and moving to NT8 without those beautiful profiles was hard.
I'm now using various Rancho tools and I'm happy !
I get what I need and I find if you delve into a couple of the tools that you didn't think you'd use they are very practical yet simple.
As a specific example, I am now using the VP metrics on my main timeframe chart as well as on a homework chart to track how the auction is playing out this week vs last week and how we are tracking versus key yearly and quarterly metrics.
I've learned not to overanalyze in homework, especially when trading multiple instruments so simple works for me

Hey guys (first post here) in reference to Acme Market Analytics (AKA Rancho Dinero) I found their site by accident on google searching for a reasonable price good TPOvolume profile indicator for NT8, and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised to find what they offer. Their TPO volume profile indicator is exactly what I was looking for along with 10 or more indicators that I found valuable. Now what sold me was the pricing for their monthly lease program package, I spent thousands (I'm sure I am not the only one) on crap indicators/strategies/ect. when i first started trading, so I must say their cost is one of the most reasonable out there. They do offer a 10 day $19.99 trial, I am still in the testing phase with them and will post my thoughts when I give it enough time. To me the big test(when it comes to NT8 and tick replay) will be if the order flow indicators cause NT8 to crash(as it has done for many of time in the past year or so) Let's see how the indicators stand up to the stress test, what do l have to lose 20 bucks? I have no problem with that!

Hello everyone. It's my first thread and I'm sorry for my English because I'm not a native speaker and I use the google translator.
After the trial period, I paid $ 59 on the 24th of June for the ACME package. On June 26 I made a BIOS update on my DELL laptop. On June 27 I try to use ACME on NinjaTrader 8 and I can not because of an ACME error message, telling me that I have used it on several machines. That day I cancel the renewal in Paypal on July 24.
Today I sent a message to Rancho Dinero asking for a solution. I have been told that windows updates or Bios changes are interpreted by ACME as a change of computer and invalidates the license.
I have identified myself as an Elite member of futures.io and they have returned me $ 59.
I'm happy to be a member of futures.io. Rancho Dinero never again.
