I tried BonTrade out a couple of weeks ago. They did make money while I was on and they did call live trades. The problem I had was that it is text based so you have to watch their text messages and your trading screens at the same time. About half the trades were called early (not an easy task with CL). I would recommend their free trial to see if it's a fit for you.

They are a little hard to follow. The moderator can show you how to turn off the student comments to make it a little clearer.

Hello, I have been in this chat room for almost 3 months now. Yes they do text chat in short hand, and use a more specific language to professional traders, though it does take a bit of time to understand it all, but you will learn quickly though.

I have improved so much on trading with them, they are very professional, and highly knowledged. I was like most traders, struggling, up and down, but happy to say I am up 95% of the time. They will show you things that are so simple, but yet never talked about, meaning times, waves ect, it is worth the time in the chat room.

They do look for the larger trades, meaning they stay in the trade longer than most rooms do, I prefer this now, as early on I was use to the 3 -5 ticks, then go back in and do it again. It takes time to build that confidence, but once you do you will agree it is great. Less trades, less risk to get bitten by the market. They will give their calls as well as when to scale out, or add on, this gives you a cushion as well for the pullbacks in the market.

Anyways, just my thoughts on Bon Trade but this is the best room I have been with,

Dry,
Do you have a list with explanation of what is in their shorthand (besides what is in the pdf)?
Did you become a member or just did the trial?
Did you do their course?

I did become a advanced member and took their course, reason being I needed to have abetter understanding of the whole trading perspective,

I did the trial of few times, I asked them and it was no problem to take the trial twice

I will have to look if I have a explanation of the shorthand, the material they sent me was locked, so it can not be shared

I believe if you ask Bon, he will supply a glossary of terms. Just a FYI some of the terms are actual trading patterns and set ups, so even sometimes if you know the terms, you may not fully understand the set ups,

If you send me some way to contact you I may be able to help you out more, like a email or number, or PM me

I'll give my assessment from 2 '1 day trials'--openly {as I always do with my posting history}.

They utilize a 2 unit strategy and take off 1st contract @ either +5 or +10 cents and then run towards targets.

The main guy who calls trades has knack for good trading; highly specialized and I mean HIGHLY specialized language.

They do provide a PDF of much 'not all' of their verbiage.

He really likes the big numbers to target (.50 cent and 1.00 levels).

One won't hit all his trades (sometimes they are split second for entry).

I have to say though the guy that calls the trades and the guy that you can message for further help are both very cool and one can ask questions while IN a trade--but you have to follow the format--the guy that is making the calls is doing 100% analysis while in the room--so you have to respect his ability to sniff out good trades.
---------------
Here's a transcript I wrote to myself during my last trial. And also the official room transcript.

They should thank me; I probably will get them some business but I am NOT recommending nor am I not recommending their trading.

I did not sign up for their month nor purchase their method. This is my personal opinion of my unique experience on 4/20/11
--------------------------------------
Slow day and he took off just after 10:30am est and then came back @11:51am est.

Alot of specialized chat for people that are trading his method.

I saw a few calls.

1) @9:11am est he called for a 'fade' sell @108.10

Initial targets were 5 cents and 30 cent profit targets. He then adjusted the 2nd target down to take profit near 50cents. It went +.47cents max

So this trade made 5cents and probably around +40 cents total (split the difference); as he warned of support coming into the +50cents area.

2) @9:20am est he called for aggressive sellers can sell @107.90 for 5/15 (take profits at +5cents and +15cents). This trade made +5cents and then stopped at -5cents for b.e. total

3) @10:30am est he called for a sell of spike @108.25. 5/15

So this trade made +5cents and +15cents total.

He then took a long break from 10:35 to 11:51am est.

Here are some of my notes (below).
---------------------------------------
Aggressive sell @107.90

Narc: He was projecting down to 107.63 earlier--that was hit.

He said you could fade (short) @108.10. that was a nice trade.

Finally, partials for 5cents and 30cents could be moved to more
than 30cents--up to 50cents. He had an original short @107.90 that I am not sure of.

High risk sell @35:00 on camtasia. Sell 2 @.90 5/15 profit taking.
Then he writes for a 30 profittaking on 3rd contract @.30cents
O
ne would have gotten +5cents/-5 cents for breakeven on this aggressive trades.

Generally his calls have been good thus far. I don't see any official
trades for a room trader. Saw an aggressive short.

He was calling for an abcde ending pattern 108.20. The hook lows
@9:33 were never breached--thus he said we would go higher.
@10:30 he called a 'selling the spike' trade. Oil was @108.25 and he called it a measured spike on the 1/2 hour and 10:30am est close.

He wrote 5/15 and that is take 5cents profit and 15 cents profit. It was a winner on both.

Dry was only going to help me with questions on the lingo. But researcher cover a big part of that with his post.
Just want to clarify that dry did not offer to go into info related to their secret sauce.

Well the only way I am affiliated with them is by a membership. Yes I bought the course, and pay the room fee per month. They are very good at what they do, they teach very well and are excellent traders with a lot of passion, very hard to find now a days.

I do believe you need to work hard and pay for what you learn and earn. If someone on here is looking to get a free copy of the course, then no I am not willing to share this openly. They spent a lot of time on the course, they deserve to get their share and reward for it and I will not just give a hand out.

It is a cost of doing business, this is a business so treat this way, pay your dues. Give them a try for a month or two, then you will know for yourself, all I can say it is certainly worth it.

Thanks

Does this method that they teach only work on CL? If so, how come?

Thanks.

Well in the room and in their advanced training method course it is geared towards CL. They rarely ever trade anything else in the open room hours, this is not to say that maybe on their own time they do not trades other instruments.

You would have to contact them directly to find out if it can be applied to anything other than CL.

These guys are calling trades after the fact.

They now post the trades as they are supposedly taken, on a 5 minute chart instead of using shorthand in the chat. An email was sent out touting the new system showing a 99.74 long call at 9:08:12. I pulled up a smaller time frame chart and you can see that the last touch of 99.74 came a minute earlier at 9:07:08 but you probably wouldn't have gotten filled, even if you had your order in.

I'm new to this website, and to trading cl. Going on 5 moths. I too am a member of the bontrade trade room, and purchased their course. In response to aircal's post, the main trader makes many great calls in the chat. They are currently testing posting calls on tradeboard vs chat window. If there was a delay that day, for whatever reason, it's definitely an exception to the norm. Like researcher247 said, "One won't hit all his trades (sometimes they are split second for entry).". Besides, they emphasize an education (yes, one has to buy the course to understand the concepts) more than merely following the main trader's calls.

Thus they equip you to understand the calls, and sometimes make them yourself, not just follow a call. There are other traders in room who post their own calls. Anyone who's been in the room for a full 1-2 days will realize this.

I endeavor to be as objective as possible, and don't mind playing devil's advocate. I've benefited from this forum, and wanted to contribute to a fair review of Bontrade.

Respectfully,

elmatador1973 (aka Manny)

I sent the chart from my earlier post to Scott at Bontrade. At first he brushed me off, but then he gave me a code for a trial in the room so I could check it out live.

I was in there twice this week and Manny is correct, the trader does make some great calls. Yesterday (5/12) one trade went for over $1, although you had to have the stones to watch it go 19 ticks against you before heading in the right direction.

Some of the trades were too fast for me to get in.

After making a few posted trades, the trader and the members revert back to speaking in 'lingo', so as Manny says, you would need to take the course to really make it work for you.

Summary: good room, but you need a large account.

Did a trial with them. They seem legit, but it is tough to catch their calls at times. It is all text calls, no voice.

I am a member now for almost a month. I bought the course too. It is expensive but I am very pleased of the investment made. I am still learning all the setups (there are over ten). It is nice to see almost every day calls made for 50c to $1. I am not able to take all of them yet, but I did take several for 30c-40c. The overall risk to reward ratio is very good. There are two types of calls: the ones posted on the 5minute chart which are very straight forward and are for those who pay for the room only. The chat is where a lot more calls are discussed, but it is manly for the advanced members. You really have to get the course to understand it. I bought many other courses before but this is by far the best one. One thing that I like a lot about their approach is that they have many types of setups some for 5-10c and others for big moves...and it is plenty to choose from and learn.

Probably after the BIG Mike Forum is the second best thing that happened in my trading so far.

The Chart calls are tracked and stored and were at one point emailed out. They are "incorrect" at best. The chart calls may have been posted on the chart but the stops are ignored. Here is a typical scenario.
The first call is made: Buy CL 95.00 (so you go long near there)
Then this: Reduce CL 95.10 (so you may get this also)
then price drops way down and you should have stopped out at break even but then 20 minutes later price moves back up and.....
Reduce CL 95.50 is posted

So now you ask the room "did I miss something, i thought we were stopped"
The question is either ignored or answered like this "well, you need to pick your own stop based on your own risk tolerance".....which is true, unless you are following their system which calls for the stop to be break even.

So lets look at the opposite situation.

Buy CL 95.00
Reduce CL 95.10

now price drops down and never comes back up. So you ask the room..."where did we stop out at?"
Now once again you are either ignored or your answer is this, " After the first reduce we normally move stop to even, but thats up to you."

You can however rest assured that the results posted on the site will definitely favor the moderator. So by the end of the day, the chart will show that the room made 160 ticks and you will be sitting there holding your ten ticks pissed off. That is of course if you didn't take several stop outs before that (which you will get often).

Be prepared to be ignored on technical analysis questions unless you have paid $4,000 for the manual.

Almost no calls made in advance. Stops never specific. And the records of calls are just simply far from obtainable.

Sounds like EVERY SINGLE trading room I have EVER been in. Free, trial, paid or otherwise.

Bontrade now offers a funded trader program, that sounds very similar to Topstep Trader - see the TST thread for details, especially if you want to be funded but don't want to buy a $5000 course.

@Kuvala
Its been awhile since you posted this so not sure if you're still interested.
I would not think they would recommend to you contract quantities, risk is something you need to calculate based on your tolerances and experience.
As mentioned though, having the ability to break your trade up into two parts(one for specific short target and the other for a runner)is something they advocate and its normal for the way they operate.
So obviously you need to trade 2 cars. minimum.

Aside from that,i have a permanent membership with these guys and find them very professional(i haven't been in the room over the last 6 months due to other things).
I have even received emails from Scotty asking how i was going and if i needed anything.Say no more about service.

Smith(ProJ) was built for this game and he knows his stuff. If you're new it can go over your head but give it some time.
Also you need to give these guys a break.Image you're running a trade room helping others while you trade CL.
To ask questions about the 'why' of a trade while CL is going ballistic is a bit unrealistic(hey that rhymes lol)
You must do your homework and understand prior to session about their methods so that you won't need to call on Smith while he is in heat of battle.
I think they do a great job and their service is highly recommended.Hoping to get back in there full-time again soon.
just my 2pennies

the last time i posted a bout bontrade i was during the trade room for about 3 months and i made money everyday but then they stoped posting the trade calls in the charkbood text they was using so you could see the calls and understand them now every thing is in the text form and if you have not bought the couse you will not understand what they are talking about .so if you are not willing to pay 5000 for the couse dont waste your time in the traderoom because you will not know what is going on.

Oh boy. $5k for a course You must be kidding

I have a very simple and straighfoward method to evaluate trading rooms and other signal services as follows,

a) why they do not disclose their audited account statements and give the trades (date, time, product, dir, quantity) in the easy format (.csv or .xls) so everybody interested in could check the system ?
b) if they do and the results are so amazing as they say why an earth they need others money ?

Just think about it.

If you have such a good and profitable system why you would not disclose your results if you still are after the new subscribers: The most efficient and best marketing method ever known by human kind, allmost no questions can be asked and the product would sell like a hell ?

If you have such a good system which can produce for example 10 tick daily profits consistently you will be a millionaire within a year and a billionaire within a decade (using dynamic position sizing). So why bother to take care all the public business, customer and teaching overhead ? Just trade by yourself, get rich and be free !

---

I think in this case they have something quite good in their hands and can occassionally achieve good results but not consistently so their equity curve gets occassionally big hits. Curve does not look good and the system is fragile in the long run. Being in the boat at the wrong time you can lose much or all. This is what they do not tell you nor show you the real trading results.

So they need to collect money from others to keep their own equity curve up and linear.

This is how I see the bontrade.org so it does not look any better than other 1001 producers in the cyber space.

Hi,

Just my 2c if you are in a trading room and cannot see there screen and the actual trade setup or it is only text or voice, DO NOT SPEND YOUR TIME AT THAT STUFF.

Saber

I agree.

Also I will repeat my self and say that if the teacher/room cannot prove (audited account + trades) to you that the system works (or has been working) at least for them how can you expect it will work for you ?

To trade by the sim account or not telling all the executed trades and at the same time giving you an impression that it works okay in live sounds like a scam to me.

People will consume their time and hard earned money for these services. These services who cannot prove should be criminally classified.
