How much was this system? On the website it just says to contact them? Strange...

on their website they show the costs.. click on purchase...

EMINI Shark Automated Trading Systems

basically, $299/month... keep in mind that I have used it before, but without the automation, so I jumped to the opportunity once I saw it was automated...

also, the price was not ridiculous like what NextGen T3 wants ($16K for Fibs?!!!) and better than EOTPRO @ $322 with actually working signals (I tried EOTPRO for 3 months, wasted $1K)

I have personally found two systems that I believe work but they were not auto... this is one of those, and I am quite glad is auto...

let's see what it does today...

I woke up late today, could not get out of bed in time this morning at 7AM EST as scheduled.. ended up getting up at around 8AM EST, but it was too late.

eminishark works, which is why I am a big fan of it being automated... the signal it generated today coincided with my own analysis as well in terms of today being a down day in the morning and looking to short crude... I didnt get the system ready to trade until 9:30AM EST as planned, but IMO it was too late by then as CL had already moved close to 3pts...

to make matters worst, I am just pissed off and my mind is not in the mood to trade anymore since I will chase any entries from my charts.. so just taking the day off to clean up my office and around the house and the garage.. I am letting the system trade and we will see what it does by end of day...

lesson learned for today, WAKE UP ON TIME!! every single day, and go to bed early (in other words, dont goof around watching "Chicago Code" show ondemand) ...

1) I am not interested on hearing why an automated system does not work etc. I believe algo trading can work and will work, it is a matter of finding or developing the right one.

Agreed!

Looking forward to your analysis!

Thanks for posting!!

I have been busy, and from the last post I did, I wasnt feeling like spending the hours needed to create a post every single day. The system has been trading fine.

On tuesday, after I woke up late and missed a lot of the action, I didnt activate thigs properly, I had messed up the times for activation because I forgot I was on GMT, and no trades really took place. I checked at end of day and then I realize the screw up.

I decided at that point in time to just get more used to the functionality to make sure I knew what I was doing and not make the same mistakes. I figure I would report over the weekend and just let the system trade on its own the times I left it going.

This coming week I am just going to let it run without intervention to have a full week of no touching or tinkering with the settings. I am in any case going to post the few markets I did traded and tested this past week.

After reviewing a lot of the data on the system, I have arrived to the conclusion the system is best traded as a basket. That has driven me to make the following rule changes:

1) Trade no more than 6 markets
2) Trade no more than 2 contracts per market
3) Trade each market with $20K minimun

I am still working on the proper daily loss assuming $120K account, I dont know if I should stick to 3% per day max loss ($3600) or what. The other idea that I have been poundering with is a Daily Min/Max Gain, after which time the system stops trading.

I need more data, so I will continue to gather it and then figure out what I want to do before I go live with this systems based on the data. I have also noticed that not all instruments are adequate for the system, but I dont know if that is because I am picking short timeframes, there is a lot more testing I have to conduct.

I have always respected CL because of how fast it moves, I used to scalp it and get out with a few ticks and make the sense mistakes that many are guilty of by having larger stops than gains. I truly dont like to trade it, so I wanted to test it with the system.

This while week CL has experienced some really great moves, I missed most of them due to not being all that familiar with the system and other issues. I was going to manually map and take every trade on MSA but I decided against it and opted instead for just using the trade data from IBKR as it was.

Anyhow, Attached are the CL results for this past week. I exported the trade data from IBKR and formatted on a way that it could be imported into Market System Analyzer (MSA from Adaptrade)..

Assuming a $20K account, the system was up 21% for the week. You can look at the details.

I tested ES this past week as well. The week ended up 4%. You can look at the data as well.

I only managed to test EMD for two days.. I plan to test it for the whole week this coming week.. so I will have better data to share.. so far, it was down 4%... but from the data it has to do more with my wide stops than anything else.. and also the runners are not far out enough.. I also had it running through lunch, which is not a good idea... so making some adjustments this coming week.
