No trades today. NT7 is giving me MORE problems on my home PC. Now they have told me that I don't have enough memory, when that was never a problem before and refused to do more troubleshooting until it was fixed. So I upped the memory to 3GB and now I have to wait until tomorrow morning for this to resolve itself, hopefully. I just want this s/w to work as it should. I am really not understanding why it isn't and am getting no true explanations.

i WANTED to trade this evening, but the market replay isn't running either.

What model is your home PC?

It is an HP with upgraded memory, processor, ram, motherboard, hard drives, power supply, and video inputs. I like the computer and it has worked great with everything, except this.

the computer I trade on at work has windows 7. I think that is the next upgrade for this computer.

Spent most of the morning working with NT and Microsoft support to determine that my volume licensed XP machine needs support solely from the IT support team that purchased the volume licensing and regardless of the problem. So it looks like I'll be updating to Windows 7.

Came into work and again, was very busy. However, I pulled my charts up and put them in unused space so I could see something develop. A short developed and I took it. I sold off at 814.3 and bought at 813.5. +8 ticks on that trade, which was the lowest of the short except by 1 or 2 ticks. So I'm happy with the short. Stuck to the rules, made the trade, and it came out a winner. Very happy.

Admittedly, I got out of the trade too early. I met my goal and exited the trade, but today appears to be a trending day as the market continued its downward slow for an additional two points. Given the previous trading days I had, I was very skittish about the market moves and reversals. Today appears to have calmed down and I will trade a bit more, well, less trigger happy to get out of a trade.

Second trade was a long. Alot of fakeouts today but I was able to get into a good move up and came away with 18 ticks. Bought at 814.7 and closed out at 816.5. I attempted to close at 816.9 but missed the exit as it only hit that price once. Given that it was the high of the day, I closed out. Long shadow and doji told me that the price would be reversing. I exited the trade at a best possible price. Seeing the trend, I sold off, anticipating a EOD move down in price. As the price was increasing on the long trade, I was seeing big orders come in for shorts, over 100+ more than once.

Currently riding a short. And the short is now in the money at 815.4

Closed out of the final trade. I got pulled away from the computer for a few minutes so I couldn't see PA so I lost out on what could have been. But I did close out at +10 ticks.

For the day, +8 on the first trade, + 18 on the second, and +10 on the third. Not a bad day and I'm very happy with the day. I did feel in the groove today.

Next week I begin my training class for the promotion, which is only a week long, but it is from 8am-5pm, and in a different room so I won't have as easy access to my trading platform. I will trade the replay at night though.

Thanks Mike!

Today is making me a bit nervous, seeing bearish trading in the morning and hitting, what, monthly highs thus far?

My first trade was a long, but I accidentally clicked Sell instead. I reversed the trade two ticks later and got in. Price was moving VERY slowly and on the 1 min chart I saw a doji and bearish professional bar selling and so I exited the trade, thinking it would be at the high and go down from there. I was apparently wrong, as the price action reversed, but I walked away with a profit so I'm pleased with that aspect of it. But to get just 3 ticks is not a good trade. Especially seeing as how if I'd of waited even 10 seconds more the trade would have gone up 6 more ticks in profit which would have signaled me to stay in the trade and went on to generate 20 or so more ticks before leveling off.

Took a second long. This is not typical for me as I don't like to re-enter a trend, but the price blew through R1 and R2 was only 18 ticks past that. I got in, or tried to, three times. Lost out in almost a point of movement and am pissed that I did. If I hadn't spent $800 over the weekend on midwife and other stuff, I'd have my chart trader and now and could set entry points on the chart. So I got in and went long. Again, I should have stayed in. Price went up to 18 ticks in the money and I closed out at 11 ticks in the money. Price has since gone up, again, another 15 ticks, so that would have been another 20+ ticks. Overall, since my first entry, the price has gone up over 8 points and I've only gotten 1.4 points out of the move.

There is some bearish sentiment now, wit the price having dropped now over a point.

I might make more than 3 trades today. I have the discipline to make just three trades a day, but today I'll be making probably two more trades. I want to maximize my gains for the day, as every trader does and to not take a trade which has a great or almost perfect set up because I have exhausted trades on previous profits just doesn't make sense to me at the moment.

On my third trade, it was a short. I watch the price bounce against the 830.0 mark repeatedly and bet it would fall. I sold at 829.6 and covered at 827.9. Pulled out 17 ticks on the trade. Overall, this was a test trade. It didn't fit my rules but I wanted to get in on a move as I think it is bouncing in the 827/828 range to 830 range today. I don't think there will be much more downward movement for the next few hours.

I only had a chance to make the three trades yesterday, so I guess that is good

Today I'm trading a day I'd not traded before, to make up for not being in the market on Wednesday. One of my coworkers trades the CL and TF and he uses a tick chart to place his trades on. I tried that this morning, and, well, my first long of the day is attached. The entry felt good, but PA was a bit crazy. I've paused the replay so I'm not sure how the market will perform after I resume, but I see my exit points based of the doji's and market uncertainty. I was in a short when the tick chart crossed and so I reversed the trade.

Entry at 801.2 and exit at 803.0.
