Nice!.. glad you had a great day today Sam.
In fact, it was a good day for the bot, not for me (my discretionary trading results were not very good today).
It's very easy to say that after the facts, but today was the perfect day for this bot, and I knew it, few minutes before the first trade. I was quite close to play with much more contracts , as I was sure at 99.9% it will be a positive day, and a big one.
But stick to the rules, and don't change the rules every 5 minutes .
And another "perfect day" will happens again.

Does that smiley mean what I think it means? Why call it game over at this point?

The results (P&L , w/l ratio, expectency, ...) are not what they were supposed to be.
I think the market conditions (volatility ) are very different as they were during the backtest period, or maybe that was the moon phases, or the sea temperature, or something else.
Anyway, this is not a big suprise, no miracle (see post #6 ) , and it was interesting to see in live what the main problems with NT automated strategies.

As I'm developping strategies and indicators on my main workstation, use it for
backtesting and for discretionary trading, I don't want a "production" strategy to be disrupt by
beta indicators/strategies, or any other sort of potential issues.
That's why I use a VirtualBox, with a very light XP installation (no antivirus, no extra-packages/services, ...), only with "production" strategies/indicators.
An other interesting aspect, the VirtualBox production host DD takes only few gb, so easy to backup, easy to put on another physical host if the first one have an hardware problem.
Hi Sam,
You are referring to a virtual machine, correct? Considering that you are using NT7, are you still running XP or have you installed Win7 ? What version of VirtualBox?
Your input, as usual, is greatly appreciated
Jon
