Ok, not good trading today. Moving to BE+1 a bit too soon as I didn't feel confident in the market moving and then why would I take those trades??

There were no super clear trades in my opinion until about 10am to 10:15. The longer terms were screaming up and I stuck with it but the spreads were larger than normal and the market was rangy down.

Had I picked short on some of those pivots I would been a bit more profitable. Tired though and need to condition myself to take a break, come back and trade some more if the market starts to move.

What I did do well is let go of my trades, and focused on what I saw... It was very strange today as all my areas were 1 tick off.

Ok, I am very frustrated with my over-cautious trading. I was also not supposed to trade today as FOMC days are a bit 'rangy' most times.

Today I started my market replay data and it showed yesterdays market! I didn't realize it till I reloaded the data just on my 4181 and then I noticed it right before I started. So, I started the day thinking, "I can't trust the data, I should be cautious"...

I did my best not to overtrade. That is why I ended up without larger points and I made a big mistake on one of the entries. I scaled out WAY too soon. I actually was looking to reevaluate but it came down quickly and knocked me out. It ended up hitting my target that I had just identified on the tick and reversed. Well, today is not a proud day and I am going to do some EFT's to break this over-cautious cycle.

My wife made quite a few gifts (over-trading) but she caught a nice 5-6 point run.

Well, today I tried Vovan's setup. It seemed appealing to me! I really liked it at first, but I felt a little squashed so going back to the other setup and will focus on that for now. Maybe revisit if I change my screen setup or whatever.

I wish I could use his setup as I like the one-screen concept for sure.

Anyways, I was a mess today, but I figured it was long. Caught a couple 2 point runners (didn't let them play out) and then a nice 5 pointer. The best trade today was between 9:34 --> 9:38 EST

28 trades, yuck, but not something I would have done live. Since I don't count it, just uploading raw vid. Didn't talk hardly any, not worth watching really.

I was very happy to be positive for the day. I told myself, it is ok to walk away with a loss and I didn't focus on my trades except a couple times. I could feel the anger build up in me a little bit as it danced through my trendlines but this is the best mental ability I have had in a while.

I also found myself wanting to be a victim, poor me. I noticed it, and threw it out the window and stayed focused. My new Mantra "Trade what you see!".

I also replayed it with my chart I have been trading for the last couple weeks and boy, what a difference a setup can make to one's yes. I would never have been shorting.

All is good. My trading has definitely taken a turn, now give it a few months to season and I should be live easy peasy.

Ok, good profits today. 2 major things that need improvement:

1. Let my trades run without micro-managing them. It isn't always going to trend without a retrace! I need to be OK with giving some back, but part of me likes making the 2+ points and if it knocks me out, fine then I will get back in. But, pullbacks are harder to identify sometimes. I need to let it flow and use the rules I learned.

2. I need to be able to continue to take trades. I would have been up over 10 points today had I done that. Part of me says, "No, be done for the day and walk away", the other part says, "If you are fresh, continue to trade and just trade what you see".

If I were to want to fix two things then those would be them. Happy with my trading as I know what the market tends to do from the looks on the indicators. Well, at least the majority of the time I know where and how.

Made a greedy short trade coming out of the gates and didn't get filled. Glad I didn't and then made another gift as I probably wouldn't have wanted to go long.

I wanted to throw a big shoutout to Horst.

I know he got a bad wrap on this forum as a fake, phony, a-hole, whatever.

But, out of all the people who have helped me in my journey next to myself, he is #1. I was thinking about all the guidance he gave me when I was frustrated, funked up, head cloudy and just ready to give up on the day trading. He didn't have to, he got no money from me and he just wanted to reach out and help another trader. He assured me that anyone can do it, that I have the skills, but just lacking the confidence and an inch away from doing it.

To me, this is the biggest challenge with trading today is the lack of support from people who have little incentive for you to succeed. I am happy there is this forum as it has kept me honest with myself which is all too easy to fool yourself while the years pass by.

In addition, I owe so much to Horst that I will name my first Ferrari "Horst". hahaha...

You are a persistent bastard, I'll give you that!

This is probably the most honest journal I've ever read (part of). It's nice to see that things are going smoothly. If you keep this up, I might just retire early and let you trade my account...

I have noticed one very important thing.....your posts are now starting with a + in front of the number of points instead of a "-" sign. You are doing something right.

Keep it up.

Thank you. I have had that happen before, then......

I think this time, Psychologically I know where I stand, I know who I am as a person clicking the button and my context within trading has changed all together.

Like everyone, "I wish" is always a nice thing to say, but "I wish that I would have listened more when I started" hahaa....

Thanks for the support PW & Lornz. To another year of 'honest' trading. haha...

Here is my spreadsheet for the last 18 days (since I started keeping track of my maximum drawdown).

My goals is to have the following:

2.0+ = 20 Day Avg.
2.0+ = 60 Day Avg.
1.0- = 20 Day Avg. Draw-down

If I don't start holding my trades longer and letting them breath then I will have to take more trades which means that I will have most likely a larger DD per day average.

So I believe this will force me to steer the ship in the right direction. Once the Daylight savings shifts back, then my trading time will be 04:30 (market open) and will trade live market and be done w/ Replay until March.

My project here in Hawaii is about to break ground so it should be interesting as my schedule will be VERY VERY busy but trading will be my #1 concern.
