I'm still "chasing' on entry, would like to hold back and entered on a pull back. I need to believe in my read and have conviction on the play.
I should have half of my eval passed end by the of the week. The rest by the end of the month... my goal for the rest of the month is to not touch my size. I need to remain diligent on my risk management. I don;t want to fail another round of PA.
Re-learning footprint... I think I have a better understanding of how I want to use it... today was a mix bag, some good, and some bad.
I need be more focused on managing my risk. I played the open and had a string of 3 loser in a row... no breaks in between. I need to let price play out. A bit of overtrading, and lack of patience after my first failed attempt. I did add to zone areas instead of dca... got lucky I think.. I need to keep my contract size the same. I can only try again....one day my monkey brain will understand.
I over traded today. I did well at the early morning session... got caught once or twice when I need to wait for confirmation.
I tried scalpnig mnq after 9:30 PST, it didn't go well, my s/l kept getting hit.
I did take breaks in between my trading, got away from the screen win or lose... that did help.
I passed a few of my evals, and I got a few more evals that need a few more day of trading before they can become PAs. I slammed the size a few days ago so, after today's win I've reach the target.
APEX has another 90% discount going on , so I may open 1 or 2 more next week. I want to trade with good trading habits and solid risk management.
Its been a few, took a break right before the US - Thanksgiving Holiday and did some reflecting. It felt like the year went by so fast , and yet so slow at the same time. Every week, day in and day out, I kept blowing up my evals or PAs. I kept making the same mistakes over and over again ... it didn't make sense to keep posting here as there wasn't anything new to unravel.
I still am unable to go a month with out blowing up my account! Maybe next year, next month! haha, I racked up a few more evals during the 90% and blew those up three days later .. ugh .. same mistakes! I couldn't take the L, I had three chance where I could of taken the -$100, but for whatever reason I wanted to have more, be back to where I was yesterday. It was rather silly, I was hoping, I was not reading the chart. Looking back, there was clearly a wall of sellers there. I wanted to more, while holding onto 50 mes contracts ..... yeah that flush got me good
The only smart thing I did this time, was not convert all my evals over PAs. I went with monthly on this one... i'm just tired of pissing my money away!
So far things are turning alright ... i have my slips here and there, but I've been stacking up, tomorrow will be my 10th day, and I should be able to request my first payout!!!!! Finally after a year, wow....Lucky PA#39!
If I'm able to trade well tomorrow, I will reach the 10 day mark for withdraw.
My strategy hasn't changed much.. I stack footprint and look for balance/imbalance...
I use 2/3/5 mes contracts and scale in up to 15-30 mes max, after 4 -5 tick in profit. Yes, sometimes stacking doesn't work. I need to work on accepting the loss more gracefully.
I use footprint chart: 4500 tick,
I have 30min,60min, 4 hr chart.
Still use 60/20 ema
I've learned to recognize my triggers and walk away from my charts. I'm planning my trades more now, but a few bad habits have popped up again ...DCA or moving my S/L a few times these past 9 day. So, new year, new me ... I'm going to continue to work on that.
I don't think Ill be posting regularly like before ... I'll give updates every other week. I do linger on APEX's discord.
Stop loss is preset OCO/bracket . 15 t/p - 15 s/l . - you can go for 20, but for me and how I trade, I notice 20 tick profit, doesnt happen often for me. I only trade MES/ES ... so 15-20 ticks is average, mnq you would need more breathing room.
My issue is I still jump into fast sometimes, I forget to check my other time frames, or I miss some important detail in the footprint. So I move my s/l to that "zone" I've pinpointed on my char via footprint.
I also use a R:R tool preset to , 1risk:1.7reward to adjust when I move my S/L around. Ideally, I should be scaling out contract size, or even better just dropping the trade as a loss when i've entered wrong. Still hung up on the sunken cost .....
I remember those days. Struggling not to revenge trade. Eventually 1 good week became 2, and 2 became a month and 1 months became several.
However I was still prone to blowups even after being consistently profitable for 4 or 5 months at a time.
It wasn't until I moved to a higher time frame that things got easier for me. A lot easier.
I use to scoff at the idea. After all, I had pretty good stats... most of the time. But argh the errors. I could never be perfect in my execution for any longer than a month or so. Seemed to take so much effort to be "locked in" and in a calm state every session.
Now on a higher time frame, I literally never break my rules. I don't have execution errors anymore either. I didn't realize how stressful trading the 5m charts was until I stopped doing it. Higher tf is seriously like hitting the easy button for me. I still trade intraday, but it's like night and day.
Mistakes were always my trigger, and now I just never really make any anymore. Now a days I just place a trade and move on with my day.
I don't expect anyone reading this to suddenly switch, but just keep it in mind whether it's next month or next yr when things are really stressful or frustrating. Just remember, they don't have to be.
