Will use this as a personal Journal as an attempt to become disciplined in doing this. As a beginner trader, thereīs a lot to pay attention to, thus, sometimes I forget to journal my trades.

For future entry feel free to comment and advise kindly

I think I'm already late for the following challenge, but here it is just in case:

Hi,

It seems Globex could also provide good setups besides the low volume, but what I find interesting the most is that is open the whole night. The low volume makes it difficult for me to predict a direction (no volume no strength in a certain direction) so today I created a sim account to track my performance trading Globex. Will see whether the same RTH strategy works.

I took a single trade on $MES (1 contract)

Analysis: poor. Short on a support level thinking the opening gap fill was going to happen right after my entry ( xD ) and I didnīt check the whole strategy.

Execution: good. Respected the stop-loss. Identified the entry mistake. Monitored DOM and price started to move in my favor. Once it started to go below my entry price spotted the new support zone. Early exit because my entry wasn't good and I didnīt like the trade anymore after it bounced from the support it hit and also the 4yo needed me! So, I took the 2 ticks profit left and head out.

Environment: Quite day, not very good night sleep, workout yesterday, wife out on a 12hr shift so I had to split my attention between trading and preparing daughter dinner (bedtime and so on ), not enough time to prepare before Globex open (maybe another reason for a bad entry, plus the rookie errors of course)

Result:

Max drawdown: 10 ticks

Profit: 2 ticks

Of course, the move I was looking for happened 5-6 mins after I stepped out, it went down to 4164.50 (14 ticks)

Hi there,

My futures live and sim account will be working under the same rules, only 3 trades per day! The idea is to find high probability trades by double (and triple) checking the strategy. I have a TraderSync account so, starting tomorrow will add the data there and put either a link or a picture here (the trades overview and charts are fancier there)

Analysis:
trade 1: Again missed the fact that there was a resistance area above
trade 2: After reassessing the previous trade, found the support area for a potential bounce
trade 3: used the resistance zone to go short since the upward movement was struggling

Execution:
trade 1: wanted to get in the "breakout", which didnīt happen. Stopped me out at 4179 (12 ticks, SL planned was 16 but since I realize I forgot some strat rules I wanted to close fast) I saved 4 ticks from that trade at least.
trade 2: All considered, good entry, 5 ticks drawdown. Here I forgot (was impatient) to let the trade go further until it closed below my 8SMA. Took 16 ticks profit when it could have been at least 30.
trade 3: trade 3: Once the bull move slowed down on that resistance area 4185-ish, went short. Slight flushed down to 4181, moved my stop 6 ticks too early, and got stopped out. I need to aim for more ticks perhaps … but after that, it moves all the way up to my entry price. I think I would have closed the trade if I hadnīt been stopped out (who knows) 6 ticks profit there.

Environment:
The government enforced again quarantine for another 15 calendar days, kids have to study from home. Natural Gas company notified leak in our kitchen so few things happening during trades which made me uncomfortable, anxious. My wife is a ER doctor so her emotional and physical state has now become even more important. The little one didnīt want to take the virtual classes then there was an argument (emotional capital affected there)

...

Reviewing my trades, I notice the last trade on $MNQ, ... Took an extra trade, no part of the rules!!! Gotta enforce that, just for the sake of being disciplined.

Hi,

This is a late quick entry for yesterday's trades. pretty busy at work and my wife got home late from her shift. So, was too tired to post last night. I deem this entry a fail for my journal but at least I need to post.

So... I took 3 trades, red on the day (small loss). The real deal is that I felt like forcing the trades to make the regular mistakes because I missed the market open so, more patience needed, even more important preparation before the first trade is what I highlight over the last week.

Hi,

Second busy and stressful day in a row. I wanted to jump into the 3 trades per day, but it wasnīt really time feasible.

Took one trade:

Analysis: Considering that ES had tested 2 times the 4176 levels it seemed a good place to go short.
Execution: some drawdown at the beginning, then it moved nicely to 4174 (Camarilla Support 2). Afterwards, it came back to my entry point and I wanted to respect the planned stop loss (4 points) but Forgot to set the AtM too.
Environment: already tired from the 9-5 job.

Donīt know if I may set an early breakeven strat for this cases where at least I could have close BE and not with a loss

Night,

Took 1 trade during Globex.

Used the Weekly R1 resistance level to go short. It was a really long trade until it started to move. This time I move my stop to 1 tick below break even so it doesn't become a loser once the price closed above the 8sma on the 1 min chart. A couple of minutes after that I got stopped out. I respected the rules sold resistance and as soon as it didn't work and after waiting that long, it was just time to get out.

Trade details can be found here:

Here is the chart.

Hi,

I tried to start my trading session earlier yesterday April 29th (which may be the solution for those busy days at work)

I made one mistake, I place 4 trades instead of 3, I was right in the direction but my stops were too tight. Anyhow here they are:

Hi,

Today April 30th, already used my 3 trades for the day. 3/3 losses, so as per my commitment no more trades for today. Ended the week red, but feeling more under control besides that, I didnīt get mad like other times. It doesn't feel good lossing but I think there are a few wins this week, including, realizing when entered short on support areas or long on resistances areas.

Hi,

Catching up on the journal.

From my live account May the 3rd 1 Loss

Wanted to go with the downwards trend, butttt it went all the oposite way and hit my stop. Good thing was I didn't changed my stop. Respected the plan. Crappy plan though! xD

Hi,

Catching up on the journal.

From my SIM account May the 3rd 1 Loss

Came in early, made a poor review of the chart. Price was already above the camarilla R4. Also, the whole movement happened during Globex hours. May consider this in future trades, Above R4 it is likely over-bought.

Hi

May 3rdinto4th Globex
2 contracts:

After the selling during the day, it looked oversold to me so I bought 1 contract at 4178.75 added one 4173.75 for swings a double the stop-loss.

May 4th intraday.
SIM account
Terribly executed. Didnīt activate the Stop loss and then hoped for prices to bound.

May 5th
Live account $MNQ 1 contract
1st trade: tried to play a bull breakout, stopped out even.
2nd trade: enter short looking for a 20p move, stopped out even, half an hour later it did move as I wanted but it was late for me.
3rd trade: 4ema was holding (price continuously opening and closing below it) so a jumped on a short again, small drawdown. Finally, it moved 10 points and I was happy to take the win there. It dropped some more but history has shown me that catching the top/bottom is not easy.

May 6th
3 SIM trades, stopped out at my breakeven levels, so 3 tinny winners. The auto/breakeven seems to be helping preserve capital. Stop could be wider in some cases but I'll keep on using it as is for a couple more weeks looking to make progress on the market direction so my entries can improve.

Up to date now with my journal

Hi

May 7th, took 4 trades on the live account (and another one on sim during Globex May 6th)

Globex trade: on $MES 4194.50 went short. To the end of the session, it went up 20-30 points, so it was showing me some over-bought momentum. Held it for almost two hours and it didnīt move as much as I wanted so I closed it (2 ticks win ... well 2 ticks on my favor on MES is even for me, that's a trade that will cover the commission/fees)

Next 4 trades happened really fast (Globex early morning)
Around 735am I was starting to look at $MES and $MNQ charts. MNQ ripped almost 100 points above the Camarilla R4 so went entered a first short (auto-breakeven ON) it was moving was the breakeven got hit and stopped me out even. Price was testing the R2 pivot as well so I took another short that was blown in a matter of seconds for a loss. Then entered again short ... at this point realized I was chasing this, but remained calm. Took a deep breath and identified were the real resistance level was. Enter a short again on MNQ at 13799 down to 13757.50. That last one trade covered previous losses and left some profit.

Not completely satisfied with the execution honestly. Few good things on the process but there was rush to enter, also I overlooked my indicators. I think I need a checklist at hand the mental checklist is not working.

Hi there,

Today's trades.

Manage to take 2 trades only.

Last week I made some profits on the live account. I decided to use the sim account until I can catch up on the live account balance.
1st trade was on $MNQ buying a support area. The breakeven got triggered and then it rolled over and kept the downside direction for a while. I got stopped out even and I couldn't skip some meetings when the bear move was taking place.
2nd trade was on $MES around 2 pm. Found a support level too. Breakeven got activated but this time after it moved 2.5 points above my entry I began to move my stop higher so I can lock some profits.

Emotional capital was at 90% I could say. The other 10% got depleted due to the tough feeling of Monday at the 9-5 job.
I felt a rush to enter before the market open but realized it on time so I gave myself time to focus on some other stuff and the result for the day was good.

Hi,

No trades for May 12th.

I did took some yesterday.

I ended up green for the day but I risked more using 1 extra contract so, for my emotional capital sake I made it a rule to trade only 1 contract at a time.

Cheers

Hi,

Here are my 2 trades from today on $MES, Sim account:

Breakeven strat was on for both trades.

1st trade saw a chance to join the 1st oversold area after upward trend premarket as a result of Globex sell-off. Took a quick 4 points profit.
2nd trade, the price kept going up consolidating over the camarilla R4 level for several minutes. It seemed to me that it had lost the steam and the downtrend could come. Took my 4 points profit on the "hammer" formation. However, I gave the trade a lot more room against me than usual. I thought that as I had a first winning trade earlier I could use it to double the max drawdown. This time it worked, but honestly, I don't think it will most of the time.

Emotional capital: rough sleep night even though a slept +7 hours. Played video games until midnight (not good apparently). Also, the little one gave us a hard time yesterday so it might have taken some energy from me.

Trading with restrictions (max 3 trades per day) has been working fine, with more green days than red ones.
Also, using the sim and the live accounts like taking turns (if the live one goes above the sim, I stop trading the live one and switch to sim until sim catch up with the live acc balance) is working too. It makes me choose my trades on sim more seriously because if I want to make some real money I need to catch up. Of course, there is no guaranty that when I switch to live I will make money, but I'm more likely to follow my rules since I've been forcing myself to do so on SIM and on live trades.

Cheers

Regards

Hi,

Switched back to live, took 3 trades ( 3 losers )

$MNQ consolidated around 13240 then pushed higher up to 13350. Looked like a turnaround price attempted 3 times looking for a move to 13300 but no luck there.

The best thing I did today was respecting my stops and stepping away after 3 red trades. Also, I felt less anxious or irritated about the losing trades.

A recurring mistake here is that indicators were telling me to go long when I placed the first trade (short) from there the price move up around 20 points. So, I need to stick to the strat more closely, considering intraday prices above R3/R4 riskier entries on the long side.
