EDIT 9-16: Funded live with $200,000 and mirror trading an additional 100K challenge account.

Maximum capital allocation at FTMO is $300,000 per trader so I've set out to complete 3 of their challenges with the end goal of having a $300K funded account. I have just passed the challenge phases in 3 x 100K accounts and my trades are shown below. Risk was calculated using aggregated equity across accounts, not per account, at 1% (R = 3000$ per trade).

partial fill for +0.3R, stopped the rest for -0.8R, reversed for +1.6R (+1.1R total)

I will post updates after the verification stage, once I am funded, and for every live trade. I'm open to any comments, questions, insight, etc. I'd also be happy to explain any individual setups or answer any questions about my strategy.

Safe trading, Brandon

2nd of 3 passed, 3rd of 3 failed. The verification stage was much bumpier than the challenge stage because I ran into an issue regarding risk that I had failed to take into account, but never ran into in the challenge stage. Because I was using aggregated risk across all 3 accounts but only using 1 account for a single position, if my single account equity itself ever fell below my 1% risk level, I was forced to take trades at less than 1% risk, even if my aggregated account equity would have allowed me to put a full 1% on. I've never had to spread risk across accounts before, and there are ways I could have more safely divided it, but I’ll take this mistake and move on. Additionally, I realized that considering they only permit 10% drawdown, 1% risk is actually too high, so I also changed my R value midway through the verification when I was already in drawdown. I plan on running an additional 100K challenge account mirroring my live trades so that if all goes well, I will be able to merge that account up to 300K total after my first profit split. I also missed so many fills by such a slim margin on high R setups that I now plan on not only journaling trades, but also live orders & why they were cancelled.

Individual trades are shown below, I'll post an additional reply with analysis of execution/strategy mistakes before I start trading live. Interesting to note, across my 2nd and 3rd verification accounts, my aggregated profit was -$3859, while my risk adjusted profit was +8R. I'll address what I'm changing to make sure this discrepancy never occurs live also in that reply.

Hi Brandon,

Hope you have been doing well! I was seeing if anyone had mentioned FTMO here and your journal is the only one that popped up. I mainly trade /ES and looking for a good prop firm for a funded account. How have your experience been? FTMO has fixed stop loss while other futures prop firms usually have trailing drawdowns. Just wondering if it's a good idea to go with FTMO. Is there any spread or data issues that you have encountered?

Thanks very much!
Maze
