Into the pandemic induced volatility I put live trading on pause and put more focus on different strategy testing within SIM to not have the time go to waste. I also found time to fit exercise into my schedule so now that is part of my lifestyle, a good change. Figured now that markets are resembling an animal that's more normal and Im kick starting LIVE trading again Id give a public journal a shot as another change that hopefully will keep me in check and in end be a positive shift.

Currently only focussed on trading FGBL and will limit myself to 5 contracts per trade, the rest of this week Ill finish off on SIM and starting next will be live.

Anyone else out there that is on the same path or has value to add please feel welcome to post back as and when suits.
Thanks

Today started out very slow with the IB relatively small and all within the VaH/VaL from Friday. Mixed external factors with stocks on the uptick and EUR on the downtick making for a struggle to breakout, only a few trades in the chop and missed the IB_H breakout as it was time for the daily run.
Intraday trend feels correlated with EUR so on a pullback ill look to get long, expect around 173.17 but will see how US opens things up.

A bit of a frustrating day as the tight range for the first 3hrs of trading had me fighting the tape for a breakout, was able to keep PnL in the positive but def put me in a mindset that I needed more confirmation so I didn't get chopped up. Right at that point is when the rest of the days rally started and I kept telling myself to jump on board but never really felt strong enough given the early tight range bias and worries of just buying the top. Need to stop being tied to the past and just read the current tape. Then even worse for some reason tried fading the trend, always wrong, oil dropped / bunds jumped stopping me out. Took another short signal though it stalled out at Yest POC so didn't really produce much of a runner even though stocks and EUR were making a run at the highs of day. Guess Lagarde takes the cake today keeping bunds bid, but couldn't break Yest-High so prob not enough to derail the TREND lower.

Positive for the day: Once in a trade and I got information that deemed the trade no longer valid I made an exit, didn't wait for full stops to be hit.
Negative for the day: Didn't pay enough attention to the tape, there were 2 easy signals that would have kept me with the intraday trend.

PnL: +1tick
Potential PnL: +55ticks

Overnight Asia bought bunds taking them above Y-High and opening up a shift in the downtrend started two weeks ago. Possible the bid for bonds is due to FED later this week so for now going to look at it as a consolidation point. European open period bounced around with a retrace of the overnight strength and struggled to break above Y-High, outside of oil most other risk assets seem to be taking a breather from their recent strength, at end of open period USD at intraday high and euro stoxx at intraday low. Daily CD is close to net 0, so nothing implied to price action. For a breakout the levels I am watching to the upside are 173.76 then 173.83 and to downside are 173.50 then 173.27, otherwise ill prob get chopped around again.

Session Times: Overnight Asia 00:15:00 to 07:00:00, Euro Open 07:00:00 to 08:30:00 UK time

as a side note, am going to sign up to be an elite member as find it disingenuous to have a journal in a community without supporting it. Thanks again BIG MIKE.
Good luck today.

1st trade setup, .83 broken and all risk assets on downtick, so expecting continuation to be bid.

Always a balance on waiting for confirmation and getting in at a optimal level, I use LMT orders and always kick myself for not waiting for more confirmation and then aggressing..... Need to work on this as expect the latter will provide higher expected value compared to the extra tick or two I gain from trying to pick a low/high locally.

This time the delta divergence triggered allowing for an extra contract.

Got positive confirmation so shifted SL to BE and exited 1 contract at local high

reduced risk at pause point as S&P seems to be struggling to hold losses below 3200, also moved SL on last contract to just below the positive confirmation of .83, suspect 174 going to be tough to break but will hold out for 174.11 as last target (IB_HIGH of 06/04)

bailed on the trade given the pause in momentum and other risk assets (stocks/oil) turning. Watching for 173.80-173.75 to re-enter the trade but lets see the price action when it gets more in context.

Need to work on holding winners longer, always get a bit ichy when mkt pauses and I have gains.

Next setup, not high confidence so only 1 contract and will want to see a break of .96 in 20mins or will look to exit, also to the downside a break of .83 ill get unconfortable but given gains today ill allow a bit more rope and look to exit on a touch of .78

Unfort didn't get filled on the second move lower, so ive bailed as suspect if we see .88 again its going lower and will re-evaluate post the move.
