Hey Everyone.

Been lurking on this forum for quite awhile and recently joined. Somewhat new to futures. I've always traded stocks mostly based on price action and stimulus events. Starting to take trading more seriously and currently working on my trading plan/rules and educating myself ect. I do plan to stay fairly stick to price action but do like to have 20 EMA, pivot pts and VWAP on the charts though. Still educating myself on the pivot pts and VWAP as they currently just adds color to the chart.

I'll post more and better markup my charts and reasoning for the trades, lessons learned ect. but wanted to get this placeholder out there and share my first few days. I work during the day so not a lot of time to trade but I'm working on that.

Below is a rudimentary trade log (open to other suggestions) from the past three days and the charts from yesterday and today (didn't think to save the first day). I'm currently using CQG Desktop. Not big on sim trading and with the micros out there now, why not learn live. With somewhat decent risk management, I should be able to work through building my plan and rules without blowing up too quick.

Thanks,

Chow

Trying to get caught up with posting my trades but don't have a lot of time right now so here goes......

I incorporated a new log/metrics based on what I believe was created and posted on this site by user Pandawarrior. I like it a lot better than what I was using.

Some quick top of the mind things I need to do (certainly not all inclusive):

-Continue reading the book Trading in the Zone. Really has been helping and thus far.
-Keep working on building my trading plan and rules.
-Stop making impulse trades
-Incorporate MAE and MFE into the log to work on targets and stops ranges
-Start adding comments on the log and in the charts on why I entered/exited trades. Incorporate lessons learned.
-Find more time to dedicate to trading without distractions

In the charts below the trades are marked (up/down arrows) by the trading platform but going forward will make them and the charts easier to see and comment on.

Definitely open to feedback.

Thanks for looking!

Chow

Hey @14chow, appreciate you starting your journal... just a heads up, the screen shots are very small and difficult to see what's going on with them. Looking forward to more from ya man...
