Wow. Doesn't take long to get down the page of posts ..

I mark up my charts and journal daily in my notebook, but I did not get a chance to type them up and post. I'll need to do better from that perspective.

Sunday Feb 24th

Recently Sunday Globex session has been slow and not trending well. Let’s see what this Sunday brings.

1/ 6:13 pm ES Long 1 contract ; 2B (Ema on major Ema), target 8-10 ticks. Stop out for a loser – 6 Ticks.
- WAIT FOR A DIFINITIVE TREND – Reminder Sundays …..
2/ a bit later , ES 34B 1 contract short (bounce on 34 ema ) target is 200 ema. Stop out for a loser -7 ticks
3/ 6:57 pm ES T20 long (8ema cross 34ema) failed. Stop out for a loser -8 Tick
- WAIT –

4/5) 8:36 pm CL 2 contracts instead of 1 (fat finger mistake). Decide to keep 2 contracts Short. Stop out for a loser – 12 tick ( - 6 ticks & - 6 ticks )
6) CL Ema bounce. Stop out for a loser – 6 ticks
7) CL T20 20 Winner + 8 ticks. Nice trade finally.
8) CL momentum / trend continuation trade, trailing Stop loss .. 0 ticks.
9) T2 slingshot. Target is + 5 ticks .. Went to + 3/+ 4 .. reversed and stop out for a loser – 5 ticks. Damn.

The Good: nada
The Bad: -- Too many trades for a crap day .. FOMO (Fear of missing out) I guess,.
The Ugly: -- Exceed my daily loss limit.

RESULTS : Total 9 trades; 1 winner, 1 scratch, 7 losers.
Daily results after commissions = - $454

Monday Feb 25th

Look at CL & ES in Globex session. CL looks like crap, ES looks to be trending nicely.

1/ 6:40 pm ES 34B (double top) 1 contract short , target s2 / 8-10 ticks. Stop out for a loser -7 ticks
2/ 7:XXpm ES 2B 1 contract short , target 8-10 ticks , Stop out for a loser -9 ticks. Wow.
3&4/ 7:15pm CL 34B 1 contract. Got a second signal so added to position .. 2 Long. Went up +5 ticks .. move SL to BE – 1. Scratch trade .. 0 ticks & -1 tick
5/ ES T10 short. Stop out loser – 6 ticks

The Good:
The Bad: I should have been able to get some positive ticks from these trades.
The Ugly: 2 large losing days in a row .

RESULTS : Total 5 trades; 1 BE, 4 losses
Daily results after commissions = - $307

Tuesday Feb 26th

Busy day, had an outside meeting after work. Missed a trading coaching seminar so I will need to watch recorded session first chance I get. Maybe on the weekend. Got home around 9 pm. For some reason globex Asian session looks completely dead. Maybe market for Asian session is closed ???? Finally London kicks in.

1) ES 2B Short 1 contract. Target 8-10 ticks, Stop out for a loser – 6 Ticks.
2) ES 2B Short 1 contract. Target and SL order in place, need to go to bed. Let the trade run during London session. It went quite positive but did not hit my target. Stop out at – 4 Ticks. Looks as though maybe decent strategy though.

The good: not over trading
The Bad: no winners
The ugly:

RESULTS : Total 2 trades; 2 losers.
Daily results after commissions = - $133

Wednesday Feb 27th

Worked till about 6pm and then joined a trading coaching webinar (from Hooters lol). Very bad heavy snow fall. Got home around 9:30pm. Market stills looks pretty slow but chart looks decent.

1/ ES 2B 1 contract long. Target 6-8 ticks .. Went up to +3 so trailed stop. Stop out at – 2 ticks . massive run to the short side afterwards.

2/ CL 34B nice trigger but slow. 11:30pm. Set and forget trade. Limit target order of 20 ticks, SL at about - 4 ticks at the time. No ATM strategy to trail stops. Will have to update that soon. Stair step .. Target hit for a + 19 tick winner. Cool.

The good: One good trade at a time. Some green ..
The Bad:
The ugly:

RESULTS : Total 2 trades; 1 winner +19 ticks, 1 loser -2 ticks.
Daily results after commissions = + $158

Thursday Feb 28th

Worked till about 6pm, and then took part in a 2 hr trading coaching webinar. Then drove about 1 hr home arriving at 9pm. Another 14 hr day … Arrrrh.
9:30pm start looking at CL & ES, and other markets such as Cdn $, Jap Yen, etc.

1/ ES T7 / BTF (double bottom), 1 contract Long. Target is previous Hi which is about 10+ ticks. Market was quite slow and hesitating .. and was grinding up. I took profits for a Winner at + 9 ticks. Immediately after I took my profit, it picked up speed big time and went another 6 ticks or so.
2/ ES .. had a few reversal candles (T25), and a T2 slingshot from the FAST market, so jumped back in 1 contract Long. Trail stop, Stop out as – 3 ticks.
- WAIT -
3/ ES . Market topping, loosing steam as seen by Divergence on all 3 time-frames (3D), so I took a Counter-Trend trade 1 contract short, target is a few ticks before the 89 Ema (about 6-7 ticks). Getting late, close to 11:30pm, so I decided to set & forget this trade again to get some sleep. Came 1 tick from my target, and reversed. Stopped for a lose at -5 ticks. Arrrrh.

I still like this set & forget strategy, however I need to update my strategy to trail stop. Youtube here I come.

The good: Good trades today. I like this set & forget strategy for the last trade of the day depending on the situation, however I need to update my ATM strategy to trail my stop.
The Bad: Should have stayed with my first trade a bit longer, but a little gun shy due to a crappy low volume & choppy week.
The ugly:

RESULTS : Total 3 trades; 1 winner, 2 losers
Net Daily results after commissions = + $0

Friday Mar 1

Woke about 5am. Only opportunity to trade is early morning on Fridays due to my day job.
ES & CL not looking very clear at the moment. Later when I look back at CL, it actually looked very good so maybe I was half sleeping.
Look at some of the new market I added to my market analyser, 6Y Jap Yen is in a major down trend.

1/ 6Y Take a 34B to the short side. Stopped out for a loser at -7 ticks. I think it’s ~6$ / tick. First trade on this market.
- LOOK AT CL AGAIN - LOOKS REALLY GOOD. HOW DID I MISS THAT ??

CL chart attached for reference, 3 or nice potential scalp trades. Not sure why I did not see them.
- DONE –

The Good: nada
The Bad: Be careful by adding new markets. Depends on volume and do my homework.
The Ugly: nada

Trades: 1 trade, 1 loss.
Net results: - $ 48 (43.75 +4$ est) . Need to update commissions for these other markets.

jigg View Post
If you review the trades where you lost money, are you able to see if there is anything that could have helped you close the trade earlier? eg. is volume increasing once the support is broken or vise versa. Could you adjust your entries a bit to so your sl is tighter?

thanks for the journal its good reading

Many thanks jigg !! I see you are in Singapore, been there many times. I used to be working in China for 10 yrs and we had a sales office & warehouse in Singapore.

Some of my trades such as the slingshot which is when long term scholastics is oversold or overbought & %K hooks over is an earlier entry so has typically a smaller stop. For mid level Ema bounces (34ema), I usually wait for the 2nd candle to close in the direction of the trend and my Stop goes 1 tick above or below recent swing hi or lo. For the Deeper retracements to the 89 or 200 Ema, the rules are to wait for the third candle to close in the direction of the trend so the Stop may be a bit more. But the target is more as well. So yes I am looking at entries and stops .. it's definitely part of it.

I'm not looking at volume per say, but I am looking at the bid & ask on the trade master, and the tape (T&S) is printing just below that. I usually crop that out on my pics. Also I have the ladder / Dom on my other screen. Sometimes price action goes wild after chop or as it breaks out of sideways channel so I try to open up my target and have my finger on the "close" button to catch a quick move. v

Still plugging away here. Just a few days behind in posting my journals.
Question: is there a way to rename my title so it’s not only February ? I couldn’t see that or figure that out.

Sunday Mar3 (my birthday)

6:10pm watching ES, CL and 6J ; ES & CL very strong yup trend with practically no retrace, while 6J has a big bounce following its major down trend, that looks to be rolling over again.

1/ 6:42pm 6J 34B short 1 contract ; Target ~ 15 ticks (1 tick=$6.25) . Trail stop, stop out at a loss of – 3 ticks (~$22).
2/ 7:43p, 6J 34B short 1 contract .. try again .. AC1 & AC2 (2 higher timeframes) , looks in a very nice downtrend. Same trade as above. Stop out at loss of -9 ticks
- Small Break -
3/ 7:52pm CL 34B out of sideways channel / chop. Sometimes this is a spring effect for a big move. Grinding up, take profit winner at + 7 ticks ($70)
- Wait -
4) 8:30pm 6J still looks as though it wants to go down. 34B 1 contract short. Seems as though trade is going against me, look for an opportunity to exit. Went to -8, divergence is against me and Long term scholastics is heading up.. Got out on a cycle down at a loss at -2 ticks
- CL .. not sure .. / ES going up.
5) 10:XXpm ES in an uptrend on EC (entry chart), AC1 (anchor chart 1) & AC2 (anchor chart 2). All Ema’s are going up. Trade is 2B (Ema bounce on 2 charts), 1 contract long. Went to about + 3 ticks and auto trail kicked in. Ended up getting Stopped for a loser at – 3 Ticks.

The Good: Updating my ATM strategy to have a trailing stop in case of set and forget trades from Asian playing out through London session. Playing some real good defense with scratch or small losses. Losses are smaller than CL winner.
The Bad: nada
The Ugly: nada

RESULTS : Total 5 trades; 1 winner, 4 small loosers.
Daily results after commissions = - $ 72 (-64 + comm for 6J )
