Having an edge in
chop or trend is a very good thing.

drawdown better. Suppose if my strategy were 2 separate automated systems and both have an edge, in their specific environment, the 3rd differentiating factor can come from the trader choosing to override whichever system the trader deems as more profitable or not as profitable, kind of like, I think this system is not performing as well so employing something like Kelly's criteria to sample the probability I can reduce the exposure to the system while the profitable system gets full exposure.

well new update for this week.volatility in the markets, allowed us to make some nice trades, but some inbetweens mainly from gbpusd is still rather choppy, may have cause a great start of a week to suffer some minor setbacks.

so please refer to the previous post with the blotter, this is the updated one, it supercedes the post above as i saw some potential trade opportunities however, it did not turn out as well as i have thought so we still end the week -$8.

so actually i have been trying to see what constitutes a strategy acting out of order for example say, a pure trend following strategy which does not perform well anymore.p&l drawdown which tracks the probability that the strategy will hit 90% drawdown.

and for the maneuvering of the trade when the markets were chopping especially when the trade war news came outhft took hold might manage their book, and there is no prediction involved, i had made the moves while observing the markets and there is no prediction nor is there any model or anything involved, its by pure price action and gut feel of what is going on. and prior to the news, i did think i may be wrong on the trend seeing as it is moving up but after that, the trade war news came out and i pounced on the move to salvage the situation.mean reversion trade is suitable. So this is the main analysis for it, if price broke out above 1.3328 on the news, it could prove fatal to average in .
