sorry to hear; we've all been through this...

do you think added pressure when trading live, or maintaining a public journal contributed to losing streaks recently?

Absolutely not, for me it was no different from trading the Gauntlet.
It was a mechanical system so it wasn't impacted by emotions or anything else, only the last day i messed up out of frustration but it wouldn't have made a difference anyway.

The market conditions just where not what my system needed and then a $2500 loss limit is very low.

best of luck moving forward. i can only imagine how frustrating it must be, esp after passing the 60-day gauntlet twice. i'm sure you will bounce back even stronger.

tough luck, but not sure if you're drawing the right conclusion to blame the markets. I didn't see that big differences between first 2 months and the 3rd

In the time i started my account between i went over the DD limit i had just 1 decent trade. I did everything exactly the same as before except for the last day in which i made some mistakes.

Compared to the first month and a half of this year in which i made the highest return on my Gauntlet, NQ has had loads of slow days. As mentioned before it is a 100% mechanical system so i did 100% the same as during my Gauntlet. Except for the last day, but that wouldn't have made a difference anyway.

I am not trying to say that "the market" screwed me over or anything like that ...

It was just bad luck with the timing of the account in which $2500 just wasn't enough to survive the market conditions that did not match what my system needs to be profitable.

I will either have to find a way to switch between markets (NQ, CL, ..) when they are most volatile or find a way to only trade when NQ is most volatile.

Take a look at NDX since i only traded US sessions.

My gauntlet went from 8th of January to 8th of March.
The live sim account started at 27th of March so i missed the few nice moves that happened in March in between the end of the Gauntlet vs the start of the live sim.

From 27th of March untill now was just crap, with very little nice strong moves and reversals.

Sure, but like you say, then your system doesnt work on all market conditions so you should not trade in that case

If one knew in advance on which day his system was going to work and on which day it was going to fail he wouldn't be here wasting time but instead would be counting money, drinking a mojito on a beach in the Bahama's.

Not one trader in the history of trading was and not one ever will be profitable only.

This was just a case of unfortunate timing, could i have done better if i knew in advance which day's would have been slow or which day's markets would have nice volatility, well duh ...

Today for example, take a look at ES, we had a nice down move right before the US session, around 16 points.
Since the US session we had nothing but shit, is there anyway to know this in advance? Obviously not.

Maybe you could benefit from using the VIX:
