Hey Silvester,

Could you post the version of the news indicator that works?

I made the correction that you suggested but for some reason I can't get the indicator to appear in my indicator selection list.

Thanks, Jeff

sure. hope it works for you. I tried it on a chart and it seems ok.

Hey Jeff
Silvester's suggestions works for jtEcoNews indicator. All you need to do is edit jtEcoNews indicator and then replace "http://cloud.forexfactory.com/ffcal_week_this.xml" with "http://www.forexfactory.com/ffcal_week_this.xml"

But somehow it doesn't work for jtEcoNewsAddIn indicator. Not sure why.

Yes......I did as Silvestor suggested ......it compiled fine BUT........for some reason it does not appear as a possible indicator to be selected in my list.....so.......I was thinking I'd just start over and see if that solved the problem.

I see you're trading 6A. are you using pivots for support and resistance? the reason I ask is because normally currency traders prefer fibs.

for index futures, the underlying has an opening and a close. so you can calculate those pivots. but for currency futures it's a bit different. fx is more or less a 24 hour market.

no criticism, just trying to help. good luck.

No worries. Yes I do use pivots. But pivots are not calculated by some indicator. I place pivots manually from Daily Notes - Metrics for Day Traders website. So far I have experienced that currencies are respecting these pivot values, so I am assuming it's safe to use them, unless someone else has different experience.

Create a pre-market routine......write it down and post it on your workstation.

My pre-market routine consists of the following.......

#1 Check for news releases

#2 Draw support/resistance on charts

#3 Globex high/low

#4 Previous day high/low/close

#5 Top down analysis on daily,60/15 minute charts

After a while you will do these things with out even thinking........

No trades today. I was busy in morning. When I logged in afternoon, market was too choppy to trade. So I decided to stay away. Have a good weekend everyone.

I read a lot about crashes and the jtEcoNews indicator. I'm not using it, so I don't know what's wrong. I've seen fat tails made some other changes to the indicator. those changes are not in the file I posted. so maybe it's better to use the modified indicator from fat tails.

sorry for the confusion.
