As promised my debriefing of my trades of Wednesday and my debriefings proves it again: If I do what my tradingplan tells me to do, it is unavoidable to become very succesful. I only need to reduce my trading mistakes and be patient.
My trade locations were nice.

If I do what my trading plan tells me to do, it is unavoidable to become very successful.

That is the second most wonderful sentence I have read on FIO today.

Good work to see, the discipline is key.

Let us all stop 'snatching defeat from the jaws of victory' and continue to avoid 'the best-laid plans of mice and men' rhyme. I have done it far too many times, success is supposed to be its own reward, so let it happen.

Cheers

Travel Well

And this is why I also not traded today.

As you could have read, I didn't pass my self analyses this morning because I knew I was making to many trading mistakes. This is why:

And my afternoon trades:

So my debriefings are done and it contains a lot of valuable insights.
I knew this morning that things were bothering my and my debriefing showed me what it was.

I found several excuses to postpone doing my debriefing, but I am glad that I have done it......... and I jumped on the trampoline

Due to the errors I made I have reached my week target of >+10R. I only did +2,52R.
At least a small profit for the week an valuable lessons.

Although my trading was not very good, I would have still met the objectives for the TopstepTrading account.
That's a nice thing to know...... but I need to become more consistent.

Have a great weekend!

Hanneke

I traded less days then I intended at the start of July.
This is my result until now for July with just one day left on Monday:

1R = 10 points risk in the DAX
So in total I am 13,5R up with 71 trades. That are 135 point in the DAX until now.

As you can see, my performance is below my targets of an avgR of 0,25R and 2R a day.
It meets the targets and max. limits for a TopstapTraders account.

The further review of the week I will do this weekend.

Thanks.

I don't really know what 13.5R is.
What would this be in dollars?

..........
peace, love and joy to you

Hi Ian (Aquarian1),

Trading is a all about trading a tradeplan with an edge.
I express the results of my trades in R's because it will tells me something about the expectancy of my tradingplan.
This is a concept of Van Tharp to train your traders brain and you can use it for position sizing to achieve your goals.

Since I am still learning and working on being consistent, I train my tradersbrain so that I am used to the R-distribution of my tradingsystem. I currently trade GER30 CFD's because I can scale my risk (R) very easy.
My current risk is 30 euro per trade. So 13,5R = 405 euro.

Every 30 trades I check my avgR. If the avgR is still on at least 0,2R (preferable 0,25), I increase my risk with 5 euro per trade and later on with 10 euro per trade until I am ready to trade the real futures.
The mini DAX future is 5 euro per point, the normal DAX Future is 25 euro per point. When I trade with a SL of 10 point than this means that when I trade 1 future I would risk 250 euro per trade.

By focusing on the trading proces and expressing my results in R, I can simple calculate what I can earn when I trade 1 future or more.
That is why I know that I would meet the targets of the 150k account of TopstepTraders if I would only look at my R-results.
I would need to trade 3 DAX Future contracts: 13,5 * 3 futures * 25 euro per future * 10 points of risk per trade = 10.125 euro.
That is nice to know, but quit an other cup of tea if you compare it with the monetair risk I use today.
Nevertheless .... good to know.

Unfortunately I have had periods with bad trading habits and overtrading in the past, that's why I currently trade with a small monetair risk and building it up slowly. Step by step.
Knowing what the potential of my trading results are, keeps me motivated to keep on focusing on doing the right things, work on reducing bad trading habits and reducing trading mistakes.

I hope I clarified it a bit. If not.... please let me know.

Hi Everybody,

I made it with all your support and Thanks!
So thank you @akeya007, @Aquaria1, @Arie1974, @BaharaD, @banzai, @Brenda1, @cheesecake, @Driss Trader, @epalsma, @gert0403, @GFIs1, @GruttePier, @Helene, @Hubert Peek, @Martijn, @Mightynorsman, @Mimi K, @Moneyreaper77, @Mtype, @NerradC, @NoMercyTrader, @poseidon, @pwie, @quickanddirty, @raphuel, @ratfink, @rintin2x, @rmvg, @Scribs02, @SMCJB, @snakeHead121, @stef, @TraderTS, @Wessel, @WHein, @xelaar!

Since I ended in the Top 3, I won a free Combine account with @TopstepTrader....... but I have a challenge.... I cannot trade the DAX to get qualified so I need to trade an other future as well. I don't know which one yet, but I must be one which can be traded during the European session. Suggestions are welcome.

Since I experienced a lot of benefits from reporting my Journals, I decided to start a new thread:

Thanks again everybody! And suggestions for an alternative future are welcome!

Hanneke
