It tends to quite the noise from the smaller range bars....and I don't just use the 12R. I change the setting depending on the ADR....and I use a five minute bar to help....

az,

what do you do if you get conflicting signal from 12R and 5 minute?

I have been fighting indicator itus this whole week....I've been wanting to find something to help trade the narrow range and slow tape. I have been successful fighting the urge until today.....I succumbed....but I did it in sim......I think I got it out of my system.....I also used the time to test some ideas I have regarding time based charts.....

I did not use the indicators I put on the chart at all.....good for me...I just needed to exorcise the indicator demons.

The time based ideas do have merit though. I will be testing them further in sim this next week.

No charts today as I took only one live trade that stopped out at +1

Cheers.

Again, due to the narrow range, I decided to just sim today but use some of what I have learned over the last few days to try and be patient enough to make some money.

Net result....+32 ticks.

The range opened up a bit and felt almost like normal CL trading. So tomorrow I may be back live.

No right/wrong list today as no live trades.

I used a MACDZeroLag today as part of the continuing indicator itus issue.....only used it to keep me OUT of trades as opposed to using it to enter a trade. In other words, I found an area I wanted to enter at and then used the MACD as confirmation. If the MACD was not in conflict with the trade, I entered......at least this was the theory....in practice I forgot to look at it several times until after the trade was taken.....I'll examine it later today to see if the theory would have worked or not.

Cheers.

Do you pray a lot?

Why yes, yes I do.....

To be less cheeky about the question, if there is a conflict, I generally go with the 12 range as that is the one I am currently most comfortable with.

You must be very religious.

How many times did the Church of Crude Oil forgive your trading sins?

Religion is for those without who require someone else to tell them how they should live. I on the other hand experience relationship with my Creator.....much better.

There is no forgiveness of trading sins. They must be paid for with money!

If however, you should mention other more real sins, there was only one payment for those and fortunately for me, I did not have to pay that price. It was paid for me and I freely and gratefully accepted the payment on my behalf.
