Jeff:

Thanks.... I probable should set NEWS to ALL at this time since CL is being really affected by Global news. I cant log into Zenfire as it seems to be down on weekends. I wont be able to test the news portion of the template until Monday I guess. This is the only problem with Zen as I cant get any data on the weekends.

I posted the request for an alert for your indicator.

Thanks

@Joules360

Ok, I will post the .cs file version when I am at my trading computer. That should work in NT6.5. You just save into the NT indicator folder and then from inside NT open any indi to Edit it and press F5 to compile all indis.

If this .cs file does not work in NT6.5 you can take your original NT 6.5 Econ News indi and edit it to make the changes I made to my version (as described by @FatTails).

Jeff:

Steve from New Zealand helped me fix the news so its works now.

I love your template and I really think you are on to something with the 15 minute CL chart. I added a 34 EMA, 5 EMA and a 25 Lin Regression along with your other indicators. These will help with S/R.

Looking at the inside bars alone....the signals are much more accurate than the 5 minute. I haven't figured out how to play the outside and reversal bars as of yet...but ..I plan on doing some reading on those.

I put up a 5 min, 15min and 30 min to see if there is any chance of using the 3 time frames to filter each other. In essence I could try to take a trade from any of the time frames if I can see some confluence with the others.

I am just wondering if the 15 min chart could be traded alone...or...is there a filter that I could use? Would you only take an inside bar with the trend or against the trend ....or both?

Thanks in advance for your input.

Hey Joules,

Glad to hear that you got the news indicator working.......

I think using multiple time frames is ALWAYS a good idea.......

As far as only trading inside bars with or against the trend........go back to post #960........focus on the sentence that describes the FIVE conditions in which inside bars are found........they are as follows......

*TOPS

*BOTTOMS

*CONTINUATION FLAGS

*MAJOR SUPPORT/RESISTANCE

*CONSOLIDATION BREAKOUTS

If YOU decide to only trade inside bars WITH the trend...........you are limiting your possibilities........

Jeff

Thanks... I got a lotta reading to do. The trades are limited, however, they seem to be good for 15-50 ticks when they work on the 15 minute chart. The key will be keeping the stops tight on the failed ones.

What is your stop on a 15 minute CL time frame?

I agree with this assessement...however for me, I have decided to master one of these and when I make money consisently, then I will learn the others....one at a time.
