Day 3 of Trading Combine

What a day today! So much action, gotta love Wednesdays. Today was the first day trading CL on the combine as well. I didnt trade CL from 10:00AM - 10:05AM as I hear you aren't supposed to do that. And I now see why... a 40 tick swing in under a minute... WOWZERS! Not like any target orders would fill here anyway... still insane to watch.

However, I didn't make too many trades today and just accepted my winning day at 1-0 for both CL and ES making my total on the day 2-0, and up $375 on the day. I was looking for one last trade on the day to get me to my daily profit target but I will take this either way.

I have been slacking on graph pictures so here is a poorly done one:

And as always an update on the combine account:

Man once you get familiar to CL you will start to literally feel the pressure before it explode and ride the wave... "or die trying". Check my journal and see what i mean.
Congratulations on your day. Keep the good things going.

Day 4 of Trading Combine:

Another fun day to trade Crude today! Im starting to favor CL over everything atm... I made 4 trades on crude today and had 3W/1L On ES the bot executed 2 trades but only 1 of them showed up on the combine unfortuneately. I would have been 2/0 in ES but something went wrong with execution and it didnt work... Either way my record for the day was 4W/1L and made $540.00 aka hit my profit target! Woot! Would have been up in the $750 range if the first ES trade woulda went through but ah well. Best day on the combine yet

I really cannot do screen caps of my graphs anymore... I went and changed how the bot functions in general over a week ago thats why I havnt been doing it... I tried it yesterday but they really dont make sense now... I will work on this for the future but as of now I will just do a quick recap of the trades made.

CL:
9:01AM - Went long @48.97 expecting the initial price to rise however it continued down and ended up stopping out 30 minutes later @48.82

9:36AM - Went long again, this time @48.69 because we were heavily oversold and I should have double downed my position but didnt want to get risky. This was an easy price point to make some profits at, hit my target an hour later @48.94.

11:46AM - Entered a short position @48.81. Hit my target verrrry shortly after at 48.56 and covered.

12:15PM - Went long on accident at 48.57 this was the same time the bot glitched for ES and didnt take a position when it said it did (I lost interent temporarily and something went crazy) This ended up working out however and I hit my target of 48.71 30 minutes later.

Heres a pic for confirmation:

ES:
I did one trade in ES, and it wasn't even the correct entry that I wanted, the bot was basically screaming short short short around noon. I got 7 different short signals in this time, the bot took the first one and put me through 3 hours of pain. At this point my profit target was already hit and I just wanted to close out of everything. I was down about $150 on this ES trade and just kept waiting and waiting for it to get back to even at least. I tightened up my profit target to only 4 ticks and ended up getting it thankfully.

Here's a pic if you're curious:

I will be uploading my TST portfolio here around 4:45, feel free to check back, but as of now the account is sitting at $50,833.34
EDIT: Here is the account pic:

Pretty uneventful day today won 1 trade broke even on another and lost 1 for a total of a losing day. Combine is still up and going strong. Not too upset with the first week. Need to pick up profits next week if I want to hit my target in a month! Heres a pic for where the account stands after the week has been completed. Hope everyone has a great weekend

Hey all, today was terrible. 0/4 and in the middle of losing my 5th one at the moment. How do you as traders deal with days like today? Makes me think my profitable system isnt profitable even when I know it is haha. A very discouraging day to say the least... Bye profits! Lol ah well tomorrow is a different day. I will be posting an update on the combine at EOD but nothing spectacular to see.

To be honest, trading today really made no sense, even watching level 2 wasn't making any sense for the price movements that occurred. I know I am not emotionally trading as I have taken out all of that with the bot, and all of my indicators were correct with historical success... Guess today was just a day to chalk up as an odd one. Welcome to Mondays!

PS: The funny thing was today when I woke up and put my belt on it was upside down... From that moment I knew I shouldnt have traded today :P

EDIT: I ended up winning my last trade of the day. So 1/4 down $425.00 on the day! Not as bad as I thought...

Hey Dayzed, I started following your journal today. I've been on the combines for a while, I passed a 50k one last december but failed on FTP. Now I managed to pass another 50k one this month and I'm on my 6th day of FTP. Red days are always difficult, I believe the key is trying to identify when the market is unpredictable and staying out of it. When I have bad days I always try to dig myself out of the hole and end up losing even more. So I believe its important to have a max daily loss limit (lower than the combine) and respecting that. Anyway, good luck on your combine, And keep posting.

Please don't take it the wrong way, but my impression is that many people fail Combines with valid methods which would have passed them, if only they hadn't been anxious to hit the target within the first month.

Congratulations, and good luck with remainder of the FTP.

That makes perfect sense, to me. Good luck to both of you!

Hey RichGirl thanks for stopping by! My daily loss limit is $750 which is 250 under the max daily loss limit of the combine. I have not hit that yet! But yes a very important concept nonetheless. As for your combine passing congratulations on that! How long on average to they take you to pass??? Good luck on the remainder of the FTP.

Hey Tymberline, not taking it the wrong way at all! Very good advice to be patient. However, keep in mind the bot places all of my trades not me, so the emotion aspect of this is completely not in consideration, this prevents me from doing things like rushing to profit targets etc... If the bot gets a signal it trades, there were 5 signals today 1 won 4 lost, but nothing was done differently emotionally to trigger said events.

Thank you to the both of you for your comments! Tomorrow is a new day and I hope everyone had better success than I today.
