as it is friday and i don't trade as much i just put in 1 trade on a seemingly strong support in a range and called it a day at 4 points. i didn't even have to draw any trend lines cause i drew these the other day day things just worked very well
hello journal. i enjoyed a nice weekend away from the screen but now i am back. i have to be picky about my trades and continue to control my self. today i came into see bounces off the 168 resistance and 2161 support levels i drew on earlier days. maybe a range day between the two but have to watch for signs of a break . also gotta keep up with the news and fed announcement good luck to my self and everyone else today
bad day today. negative 412.50 it did exactly what i thought it would do bounce in a range and then break lower. but i never got a good entry and was too hesitant to enter the ones i saw i was gonna quit at negative 200 but then i tried to win it back which was very stupid.
my current combine stats before i see a giant negative 400 on there. i pretty much wiped out 2 days worth of trading considering i usually get 200 a day.
Im a beginner trader and a stubborn person. not a good combination lol. I am at a point now where when i am trading well i constantly ask my self questions, is this trade worth the risk, whats the market doing, how much pressure is on the up/down side, is my stop in a safe position without having an overly large risk, should i get out of this trade because the time or movements are not what i anticipated, should i cut my losses. i think that is what FT 71 always talks about in terms of conscious competence stage 3? My biggest weakness today was that i let myself fall back into an impulsive gambling trader who became oblivious to what i saw right in front of me. i started off the day with 2 winning trades and 1 loss and i was standing at 112 pnl, but i quickly gave it all back. As i started to lose my methodology and ,y careful habits ive spent so long building begin to fade away and i become more and more reckless. I begin to trade my PnL saying i can make it back just one more trade if i lose i'm done one more and im done one more and im done. then i walk away come back and i am disgusted by what just happened. X.X BUT i am still a beginner trader and i feel i am still getting better and better. before i made this journal it was even worse even though i was recording my days in my own personal journal. i use to just blow up my account in a single hour haha. Now looking on the bright side im glad that the worst of me will only take out 2 days of trader rather than my entire combine. this is a long post and there is a lack of grammar or proper spacing but id like to say thanks to the futures.io bmt community i don't post much and i am still new but i spend so much time browsing the forums reading journals even reading journals from 3 years ago haha and all the webinars and market commentary that i see is a great help and the elite membership is probably the best money ive spent since i started trading.
wow todays an early day for me i cant really find an advantage today and after yesterday i just wanna put in a small good day. i ended up 187 -30 for commission. i could have held and made a decent profit, but im not experienced enough for holding trades haha. Whenever i feel pressured to get out early it continues, but whenever i sit on my hands and let it run it comes back and stops me out. Today seeemed pretty simple with a channel higher off of my largest EMA but hindsight is always 20/20 right?
The market popped off at around 1pm what happened looking for news but can't find anything specific. im not good at following news and don't have any payed services so if anyone can fill me in would be nice haha
seeing these big moves always make me think if only i can catch that haha. i try to practice swing trade on sim 101 because i almost always end up with giant losses
short trading day today. i had to go take care of some stuff this morning and didnt get back till noon est. took a trade long after seeing a trend up but got out at 1 tick when i noticed we were in an all time high and saw heavy resistance. I reversed thhe trade at 2184 and took 2 point in profit where teh red arrow is.
