Hey everyone,

Luke 14:28-30 says:

28 For which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost, whether he has enough to complete it? 29 Otherwise, when he has laid a foundation and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, 30 saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish.’

I want to be able to count the cost and finish well. I export my trades from NinjaTrader into excel and use it to help me count the cost. However, I haven't taken many screen shots of my NinjaTrader window in the past, and I'm going to try to improve upon that here. I'll also include screen shots of how I use excel to help me, because that's where my real "journal" has always been.

I appreciate any input you all have and look forward to learning as much as we can together!

Dan

Pretty standard channel to start the day. I saw some resistance at 45 (not pictured) which worked nicely with my bear channel and put the short trade on with two targets.

I gave up a good amount of ticks at the end of the day. I expected a retest of the low at 43.00 which hasn't happened yet. I saw more strength in the pullback than I would have liked and exited.

This was an aggressive short for me. The key was the weakness on the retest of the high of the day.

As with CL I gave up a large number of ticks here. It appears that another bullish move was solidly in place and I exited for 27 ticks per contract.

Here's my real trade journal in Microsoft Excel. This is where I import my NinjaTrader trades automatically each day and have it calculate the fees and taxes I can expect. It has really helped me "count the cost".

That's odd, they displayed on my computer. I'll be out of the office today, but I'll try to upload them again soon. Thanks for letting me know!
