So weekend has come and it is time for preparation. Good news: NinjaTrader released updated version of NT8 Release Candidate 1 and I finally decided to try this beast.

So below there is the screenshot of my new workspace created in NT8 for index futures trading.

It consists 4 basic charts and JigSaw tools for orderflow. I'm a scalper so I don't bother about intermarket analysis and other fundamental stuff. I just watch news calendar to avoid been trapped in position during news releases. All what I look at are HVN and LVN, power of market swings, cummulative delta, MACD divirgences and order flow around key levels selected by Volume Profile.

1. My first "long term" chart is 1 hour. My everyday routine envesages identification of LVN and HVN on daily volume profile located on 1 hour chart. Red lines are fresh or untouched HVN's, blue lines are fresh or untouched LVN's. Those lines marked on 1 hour chart are spreded through all working charts automatically by platform. Also I have MACD and daily Pivot Points just for confirmation of current market bias.

2. My second short term chart is 5 min. I have MACD, VWAP, cummulative delta and PriceSwing indicators on it which could be found in elite download section. With their help I evaluate power of market swings and decide which side to trade - long or short. Also I use 5 min chart for so called "Open Range Trade setup" wich in general envisages taking a trade either inside of first 30 minute of RTH range or breakout-pullback-continuation trade.

3. My decision making charts are 1 minute candles with MACD and cummulative delta where I'm looking for divergencies on key levels and 5 min footpring with current and prior day hi\lo\open as reference levels. All indicators are available in elite download section of FIO.

I use Footprint and JigSaw tools for sharpening of my entries. I'm not an expert of pure orderflow trading with JigSaw. I just learning and crawling through Peter Davies's lessons on the JigSaw website. So it will be next step in my trading expertize. That's why I still held charts on my workpace. I still need them

Traded on simulator during long weekend. Found exceptional hour! All major FP setups during just one hour of the trading!

1. Price rejection on the level

First impulse with volume BEFORE the level (first sign that level will be rejected) then test of the level with lower volume and big imbalances on the bar highs (second sign of the reversal).

2. Stop Run

Huge bid imbalance and almost zero prints on ask.

3. Absorbtion after Stop Run.

Fast return to the level after stop run.

This picture occured during Globex hours. Nevertheless it's still valuable.

Today's preparation to trading session started from uncountable faluiers of NT8. I already tired from this buggy shit. No more betas... release candidatas and other pre-release time consuming "toys"! I have newest ever PC assembled by proven company which I buy already third PC. Parts have been produced in April-May of this year, all licenced software installed. I really pissed off by the performance of NT8 on my machine So, back to basics... Hello again, NT7

Regain the calm and start afresh. All our tools and toys have a lot of fails and wishes, I really sympathise though.

I might look at NT8 in about a year's time. Hopefully the bug reduction count will be well along an asymptotic half-life decay by then, maybe Release Candidate 12-18 or something like that. I wish them well with it because I love NT7 and also want 8 to be a big success, but I am appalled at the prevalence for calling clearly Alpha software Beta. I said two years ago that 'airware' was the better description and that has been correct. Let's hope for better soon, I want them to do well.

Also don't forget that Windows is itself a nightmare environment for large scale development, but then nothing large is easy.

What I did right today? I took almost ideal Open Range BPC trade after the news release as planned. I stopped to trade just when my daily loss limit has been reached. It's all..

What I did wrong today? All the rest. I scaled out on b.e. the second part of my ideal trade just watching in a couple of minutes how the price came to my target 2 aria. I made completelly WTF short entry hoping for stop-run through low of the day exacly into charted demand zone at 170-173 where I originally planned to go long. My greed didn't allow me to scale the third trade which gave me 7 ticks despite I saw the divergence in cummulative delta and make my day at least close to zero loss. At least in my last trade I didn't wait till stop loss and exited manually couple of ticks earlier becuase VPOC has been breached and orderflow became agressively long. Saved 50 buks but not my mood

How I could improve? Again.. and again... and again... I need to learn to sit on my hands and stick to my original plan. Actually I could make two ideally planned trades (and market gave me exactly what I wanted during prep) and even entered in one of them but... I want to say to newbies who will read this journal, friends, don't trade CME on live until You will not have at least 5000 on Your account per contract traded. Otherwise it will be extremely stressfull business... Undercapitalisation will just kill Your self-esteem and nerves even if You can make good entries and analysis. It's my case. When real money are on stake the brains start to think completelly different. One more time I convinced that trading is pure psychology game and just a little bit skill Holy Grail is in Your head and heart, not somewhere else...

Today I had only one trade. I decided that ES will go higher from narrow IB and I will trade breakout of erlier charted supply zone. But instead I got so called setup of MP "one tick", supply zone occuerd tough resistanse and market went down full 8 points It would be better if I would go short from supply zone Actually it is not first time when I try to trade breakout of day's extremum and been stopped out. Many years I can not learn this lesson And worst thing was I shifted my stop loss for two more poins behind VPOC. So... Oooops... I did it again... And again and again... Despite many years behind I'm still good in analysis and defining reversal points and bad in trading of my own analysis... Sad, but true.

Went short in M6B from 3360 aria. Average entry price 3356 (2 contracts from 3362, 2 from 3350), stop 3400 first target 3325, second 3300.

1 hour uptrend line has been breached and first test of break level has been confirmed. Unfortunatelly it was night and I didn't place limit timely. So entered the swing trade after second test of LVN zone.
