Not an easy day to trade, trying to fade the rally all day and only caught 2 good ones. Oh well, hopefully it's a better day tomorrow.

Calling it a day before FOMC minutes. The first trade doesn't really count because I woke up this morning and it looks like it's topping off so I tried to short it with 2 contracts and went back to sleep. Anyway I would never done it w/ real account.

Platform: TOS demo
Instrument: /ZN
Ticks: 10 = $296.88
#round trip: 7
Win: 5
Lose: 1
Even: 1
Biggest winner (tick): 7
Biggest loser (tick): 5
Total Fees: $39.48
Net: $257.40

Note:
1. Today's volume was great, a great opportunity to make money if you guess the direction correctly.
2. The preparation for TST is coming along great. Need to think about slippage (that's the real question).

OK, I finally started doing first day of 14 days free TST to get used on the platform. Did 11 trades (which is a bit much of trading I think), and did ok. It takes a while to get used on the execution since it's not similar to the TOS SIM. It definitely feels real as your order won't get executed right away (unless market order) (limit order needs to clear that particular price first before get executed). Total net : $158 (so pretty much 1 tick/trade )

I also play around a bit with the DOM, gomi ladder, and looking at time&sales (this is definitely a factor of very short scalping).

Gameplan for the next 2 weeks before starting the combine:
1. Find a trade location (try not to trade if it's not around this area)
2. Try not to overtrade (hold winner longer)

Decided to give TST combine a shot. I will start updating this journal on daily basis again.

I chose $30,000 continuous combine on several factors:

1. I'm fairly new on futures trading, I believe TST is a step above regular SIM where I have to strategize more where I choose my entry and exit points.
2. $130 (1st month) and $150 after is considered small money compare to losing my real account money. I believe I will learn more things by doing the TST.
3. It put extra pressure on myself.

Well, wish me luck guys....

OK, started out pretty late and was a bit nervous for the 1st day of combine, there weren't too many good setup for my taste.

Platform: NinjaTrader
Instrument: /ZN
Ticks: 3 = $46.86
#round trip: 2
Win: 2
Lose: 0
Even: 0
Biggest winner (tick): 2
Biggest loser (tick): 0
Total Fees: $7.36 ($1.84 ea/TST recommendation)
Net: $39.52

Notes:
1. 1st trade: was pretty straight forward, get in on the 1st weakness and out after I see no continuation to the downside.

2. 2nd trade: broke the trendline and the RSI was around the there, pretty comfortable with the decision even until it reached 132'115, did submit order to add-on at 132'120 but it never got there. The plan if it got filled I would do stop loss @ 132'130 (was 2 ticks above 2 std deviation), that would make me loss total 9 ticks = $140.58

3. Overall was an OK day, but the 2nd trade was the hardest $15.62 I ever made in my life LOL. No regret closing the position even the price went down after, because I was on the trade too long and just want to get the hell out!

LOL, so after further investigation, yesterday still counted as a trial. Didn't know why the combine account wasn't updated last night, and found out I still used the trial username & password. So I did change it and had a trial run on ES to verify it and closed it for breakeven.

Anyway, that problem was taken care off, and today was an ok day, but decided to call it a day...the price going nowhere.

Platform: NinjaTrader
Instrument: /ZN
Ticks: 7 = $109.34
#round trip: 4
Win: 3
Lose: 0
Even: 1
Biggest winner (tick): 3
Biggest loser (tick): 0
Total Fees: $14.72 ($1.84 ea/TST recommendation)
Net: $94.62

Notes:
1. The plan is to fade the selling, but it didn't reacted as hard as I hoped for. So the 1st sign of slowing down on DOM, I'm out.

Can't help it, the freakin chart just doing pinball, shorting for a tick, both orders are limit order (takes times to get it filled), another $12 saved to the combine. Not bad for less then 2 minutes trade.

I swear now I'm done

LOL Hoop, my plan is to complete the combine in a month, i feel stupid already wasting the 1st day using the wrong trial account instead of combine account. And today ZN is just pooping the whole day, so trying to grind it out, even it looks ugly, i'll still take it. Might use your method to keep my craving down lol.
