Well, I took 2 short trades for 5-7 ticks at that area, BUT between 7:15 and 7:55 (on your chart). You were there too late from my point of view. It's hard to explain...I have my rules you know.

Anyway, I see some red areas on your chart. Why don't you wait for price to come to these areas then check footprints and decide whether you want to trade or not...

Cheers

My first two trades of the morning.

I look for impulse moves then find volume imbalance clusters to lean against on the retracements. Both trades failed as the market did not follow through. Fortunately I recognized the inability of the market to go up and got out both at BE.

Why don't you look for the opposite?

An impulse up, then a trade back?

I guess that could work if the impulse was an exhaustion move and you could somehow spot where the impulse ends, but I am looking for impulse moves that begin larger moves. Other reasons. 1) impulse moves can go on for quite a distance in CL, how to spot the end of the impulse for an entry? 2) The retracement of an impulse that starts a longer move will not offer up that much reward. 3) If an impulse move is the start of a longer move, there is more reward to trading in the direction of the move.

How would you fade an impulse?
