@tradethetick, just want to say that you are not alone here.... Been there, done that.

I hope you can make your current experience turn out to be a good learning opportunity. Keep plugging. Many here will be willing to help, where they can.

Bob.

Your system isn't going anywhere. Too many loss days in a row. Stop trading it and find what is going wrong with it. Sux, but you gotta' do it, or you will whittle away that 147K to nada over time.

@HoopyTrading, he probably has figured out that things aren't going so well now, and probably doesn't need you to tell him so. In fact, he probably could use some useful advice, or at least some encouragement that progress is possible. Not just some guy putting him down. We don't really do that here.

Is there a point to this kind of post? I can't see what it is. Can you provide something constructive?

Bob.

I don't see it as negative at all. Maybe tradethetick hasn't figured it out and needs a reality check to take a closer look at how he's trading.

Hang in there my friend.

I am not yet a successful trader. Still working on my combine too. Hope what I share here will be helpful to you.

Important "indicator"..... ave win and ave loss.

Your average win is way too small compare to your ave loss. No matter how high your winning % is, it's not probable to be a profitable trader. You can either work on getting

1. your ave loss lower, or 2.increase your ave winner.

I am working on that too. my ave loss is smaller than my ave winners, but my winning % is on the low side. Looking back at my previous trades, I was "saved" by my larger winners many times. My goal now is to work on my process of letting my trade reach the bigger target. I have the tendency to over managed and cutting my winners short.

Good luck.

Yes there is a point to it, called tough love. Some people just never learn, including myself sometimes.

We already told him to cut size, did he do it? No and thus he has big losses. Otherwise what is the point of journals like this if we can't comment on it?

I appreciate the concern but all systems have drawdowns. I am trading the same method I was trading on another journal It has been a profitable system.

TopStep has some rules that I am adjusting to. And this month has been more volatile and trendy than normal for CL. I tested this method in January using the combine rules and got to +$6000 so I decided to go for it with the actual combine.

The results have been less than stellar so far. If CL gets back into it's typical rhythm, then the winners should start accumulating.

Until then, I am licking my wounds...

I do appreciate the comments. Keep them coming...

I have cut size. I am keeping losses to $1000 per trade. The win rate has been high (prior to February) so I was risking $2000 per trade. That was much too high for the combine. I am now trading between 5 - 10 lots depending on the initial risk of the trade.

I do have to say that daily posting is hard, especially when posting the actual trades and not just charts that look nice in hindsight. Pulling the trigger and posting the results is reality. I have not seen too many people posting their successful combines. Hopefully others will have the courage to share.
