Welcome to futures.io.

Welcome, Guest!

This forum was established to help traders (especially futures traders) by openly sharing indicators, strategies, methods, trading journals and discussing the psychology of trading.

We are fundamentally different than most other trading forums:
  • We work extremely hard to keep things positive on our forums.
  • We do not tolerate rude behavior, trolling, or vendor advertising in posts.
  • We firmly believe in openness and encourage sharing. The holy grail is within you, it is not something tangible you can download.
  • We expect our members to participate and become a part of the community. Help yourself by helping others.

Thanks GruttePier for a great webinar It was well organized and covered your execution and thought process.

I like the detailed quantitative journaling as an evaluation tool. A few questions about the "My stats (2)" slide. I tried crunching the numbers but couldn't figure these out:

1) what's the equation for "Total net profit (points)"? does it include trade size?

2) what's the equation for "Risk per trade (points)"?

3) is "Profit as a % of total risk" summed over the whole month, for example, (total monthly profit) / (total monthly risk)? if not, how do you define it?

Thanks again for the webinar and best wishes.

I am not quite understand what you meant?

Just to add my thanks, dank u wel!

Impressive organisation and chart marking. Very good to see some mature & steady live trading not slipping back to Sim.

If you don't measure it, you can't manage it. I have already wisely told my assistant it takes 20 days for a habit to form

Succes gewenst,

Rory

June 22nd prep

Market overview
- Japan, down 0.6%
- China, up 0.6%
- Europe, up 0.3 – 1.0%
- Oil, down 0.8%
- Gold, down 0.2%
- Bonds, up 4/32

Overall sentiment is neutral.
Yellen speaks again at 10am (16.00 CET) and oil report at 10.30am (16.30 CET).

Important price levels
- 2089-90. SR level
- 2085. SR level + weekly R1 + yesterday’s high
- 2074-75. SR level + R1 + yesterday’s low

Overnight volumes were very low.
Overnight made higher lows and higher highs, tested yesterday’s HOD but failed to break it.
Small opening gap.

The markets are clearly waiting for clarity on the potential Brexit.
Price is chopping in a 10 point range (2075 – 2085) for 2 days. This is likely going to be 3rd day in a row.

My initial idea is to stay on the sideline today, watch for an opportunity and don’t force anything.
It’s going to be another tight range day. On the upper side I’ll be looking for fades from the 2085 and 2089-90 level. On the downside, I’ll be looking for fades from the 2074-75 level.
An opportunity for a breakout upwards is more likely than a breakout downwards.

I’ll be on the side line today. If there a to-good-to-be-true opportunity, only then I will take it.
