Today's been a great day!

One contract at a time until I'm up two trades seemed like a good idea and I'm trying it for the first time today ^^.

First trade was -$60 but second trade was spot on and landed a nice $150 with a -$10 max open loss.

One more to go before I can increase contract size. Still learning how to trade multiple contracts and advice is warmly welcome and greatly appreciated .

These two trades were taken an hour before market open and I'll take next two trades between 11-12 chicago time.

I'm excited to go another round today Haven't taken even 1 impulse trade today and when this has become a daily habit I believe I can profitably trade. Let's see what happens!

This April contest thing is really helping me write down my actions and take less trades, if anyone's thinking about starting their own I'd warmly recommend it! Hope this is the push you needed to take the step.

Interesting turn of events, here are the pictures of the evening session.

First of all good idea having a couple trades before taking multiple contracts on as I feel more in the flow with the market if I'm already a bit ahead. On Monday I could try scaling in and out of trades and see how that feels but only after I've profited from a couple of single contract trades.

Conclusion:
+70$ after a day of trading although it could easily been 400+ if I'd had bigger targets with stops following 5-8 points behind.

Next time I'll try and see if that will help the daily P/L.

I've had three great learning days past this week. I've experimented with both single contracts and scaling.

I'm still not experienced enough to go live with my scaling because I'm not 100% sure which stop I'm trailing with yet.

Today's results after a short 20minute trading session.

+$160

Why I stopped for today: I have to finish a book this week and I want to focus completely on what I'm reading.

I'll go live again in May if things work out this week. Tomorrow will be my last day of trading this week and if it's also a + day then It's a 4/4 for this week !

Wow, I didn't imagine I'd get so many likes on the April contest ! Thank you for taking the time to thank my post, I'm so grateful that this journal means something to you too !

Highly recommend scribbling/taking notes of your trades because at least for me it makes me concentrate and take responsibility. Also less trades per day taken when I have to jolt down what went wrong with the previous one .

On topic:

I have traded SIM this week and been profitable on Monday only (yay 575$!).

I got stopped out before the open yesterday with two losses at 5am chop.

Haven't started for today yet and we'll see what happens.

Updating with what's happened this week:

I've traded one hour or less on three different occasions. Weekly total: +755

Monday Tuesday Friday
+575 -235 + 415

Improvements made this week: Smaller targets first and bigger targets later.

One thing have to improve next week: Take profit at 3p+ or move stop there because it hurts when a trade goes up 8P just to return down to 0p.

One hour of trading (most of it spent eating dinner with family ^^ )

Monday

+270

Improvements that I could make:

If I move my target from 5P to 7P I should also move the stop from taking 2P to taking 5P so that I'll have at least 5P made. It was a big step up from last weeks 8P that went back to 0 but I'm still not fully there to taking all my profits.

Done for the day even though there could be so much more left on the table. If I keep this going for two more days I'll fund my account with live money on Thursday so that I can live trade next week!

I've been doing most of the trading this week from my laptop ( yay it's back from maintenance!! )

So the pictures would be rather small to show the trades I took (I like to show all four charts) but if anyone wants me to continue posting pictures I'll do that. Right now they're just on my laptop so that I have a picture journal of how the day went.

Now to the interesting part! The results of this week! Weekly total: +525

Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday
+270 -375 off day +230 +400

Improvements made this week:
Continued trading when on a roll. Still only for maximum of one hour at a time though.

One thing I have to improve next week:
Limiting my losses to maximum of -250 per day.

I funded my account on Friday so that means some of next week's results will be LIVE results!

Week 20

Have had about one hour of trading per day, last two days less than previous three but still happy with the results .

I want to keep track of both SIM & LIVE results because I've realized that the more strict I am at keeping my rules in SIM the better I do when I go live.

The results of this week! Weekly total: SIM -35 LIVE +345

SIM results:

Monday
-55

Tuesday
+455

Wednesday
-370

Thursday
off day

Friday
-65

LIVE results:

Thursday
+15

Friday
+330

Improvements made this week:
Checked the market three mornings in a row to see where price had gone previous day.

One thing I have to improve next week:
Limiting my losses to maximum of -250 per day!

I know I had this same improvement idea for myself last week, but until I master it I can't grow as a trader. Just look at the sim results, which I find to be more important because it's more data than the live, it's obvious that it isn't going to be sustainable in the long run to have that big of a losing day when my biggest winning day is almost same.

Week 21

Been trading for 1½ even 2 hours some days this week, I believe biggest mistake was turning the computer back on after I was down -390 on Thursday thinking I could still save the day.

I could go on and on about why I made the mistakes but excuses won't help.

I'm back to sim trading consistent profit now until I have a proven track record (again) of being a successful trader. I still believe I can learn from my mistakes and grow to become profitable because I have an edge that's proven in simulated trades that's also been proved in live trades many times. It's only a matter of psychological issues when taking losing days now. Oh and those profit days I was down -200 or more both but worked my way up shouldn't do that should just cut losses and move on.

The results of this week! Weekly total: SIM +150 LIVE -1155

SIM results:

Can't log in on sim right now have to log in later today and check for these results. I made more on sim than I did on live this week

LIVE results:

Monday
- 400

Tuesday
+ 250

Wednesday
+ 70

Thursday
- 1075

Improvements made this week:

I checked my daily statements and knew exactly where I was and where I wanted to go before trading session began.

One thing I have to improve next week:

Cut losses, go for a walk, turn off the computer - do ANYTHING when reaching draw-down limit of the day.

Thank you @FuturesTrader71 for taking the time to make the video

Happened to stumble upon your video 6:30 am this Sunday morning...

It explains better than any thought I've had past 3 days since I blew the account. It explains exactly what I thought as I was breaking all my trading rules and how to grow and avoid it happening in the future.

Highly recommend this to anyone struggling with taking losses, it's going to be my go-to video before trading. My system works it's just that I don't handle losses effectively yet.

Can only get better from here

Good morning for anyone that reads this early on ^^
