Last hour of trading. It has been a big down day and I think I get get a little more to the short side. I'm trading against my core long swing position ( both sim AND the real one via UPRO ).
I closed the trade after I realized that the entry was not the best. I was looking at a 1.5 - 2.0 point gain as not enough... like it was a scalp ( I don't want to try to scalp ). But those small points were because of the entry. Too late to change the entry so I got out on what I see is a gift at this point. Market has already sold off a lot and I'm starting to get more bullish.
Sold all my UPRO ( for small gain ) and got long 2 ES contracts.
Reasons:
1. I'm supposed to be long the 2 ES contracts on a systematic system I committed myself to trade. I exited them at break even at the Friday close because I thought that the selloff Friday would spill over into today. I'm happy to be correct.
2. More control over the positions in the ETH session ( although I'm not supposed to trade then ).
3. The UPRO accounts are reserved for my end of day systems and I need to keep the cash ready in case of a signal there.
I feel better aligning myself with my actual plan. However I admit I'm terrified!
