LON

Mechanical Breakout System

Upside breakout: +/-0

Triggered an upside breakout. Reached breakeven, but did not hit target. A pullback into the overnight range stopped the trade at BE.

(Without automatic trade management the trade would have reached target after the pullback)

Downside breakout: -24
Upside (false) breakout: -24
Net: -48

Quite small overnight range with 19 ticks. Showed again than too small overnight ranges are prone to whipsaw.

Triggered an downside breakout. Did nor reach breakeven, a pullback into the overnight range stopped the trade at -24. Triggered a false upside breakout, hit again SL (-24).

Finally the market rallied after BoE Carney statements. Was not in this trade.

Hi Pragmatic,

What are the times on your charts? cest or est ? I see a breakout in London at around 2:00. Can that be cest or even British time?

My own experience with London open is that most breakouts fail, so one should be aware of the many fake outs and look to trade them. They often make the low/high of day, depending on the prevailing trend.
Indeed the best time to trade European currencies.
