i sold another lot @ 42 after this post, & it did b/o of the 35s support....for about 10 seconds, i really thought it wld at least test the lod. I paid 32s for 1, then watched it tick all the way back up. I sold again @ 41s, got stopped on 2 @ 44 - had my SL in wrong place.. shld have been 1 tick higher (prev higher), & still short one - i suppose its a free trade & i am still in it. I am flat ish for the day inc commissions if i scratch this.

figs out in 20mins.

out of the 1 lot paid 38s, fig now. +5 ticks for the day.

long & wrong

got caught out on that when it rallied to new highs & came off had 2 gd buy areas 42s (prev res=supp) & 27s - prev demand on 15mins, doing 1 lot averaging ins lost 25 ticks, down 21 for the day.......& this was the down move i was looking for when short for 3 hours earlier.

not great trading, & not getting my short earlier this morning def impacted my thinking, i upped size to 3 lots & got taught a lesson. also the speed it came down & the fact there looked to be no real support anyway on way down was the warning sign to wait. i dont mind trading with bids in when playing intraday levels but clearly i still need to be cautious.

plan next trade.

Sell area....

35-36s as a sell but cos its still within yesterdays range this cld just rally back up into the 40s area again.

buys - well my 22 level earlier mentioned was ok for a bounce. again, if it comes back to low 20s will be mindful that it cld push on through towards yest lows.

Trade review

Trade 1 & 2 sold 43/42 +5 ticks BO trade LHs / descending triangle top of range just forming - 1 tick DD max, great entry, ended up only +5 after quick retrace despite the BO of 35s & paying 32s for 1 lot. Thought it wld push further once 35s went but nope. Take my 10 ticks when its a slow day? Made mistake with SL not above prev highs.

And, wait for it......upped my size......

Trade 3 Buy 42s avge; Stopped 33s (-27) - it bounced initially....wide averaging, never normally avge but as upped size was bit nervous perhaps?! descending too quick to fade; not clear enough level to fade; missed putting my stops in; vol on way down was big.
Trade 4 Buy 25s avg Sold 20s, back to 2 lots (-10); Prev days demand area, look at prev candle! not great & new lows so breaking my rules of catching knifes; trying to average posn as picking areas clearly crap on way down; vols trading on way down was large - didnt have footprint up for this. THIS WAS AN EMOTIONAL TRADE.

Trade 5 Sold 24/26s Paid 28s (- 6) composed myself liked the level to sell & the retrace (some space), w/ trend, didnt want it to trade much higher but cld have sold 28s quite quick after, came off 4 ticks & then created ascending triangle & 25s were @ lower end of this....should have scratched/puked earlier, spotted the triangle on the M15 chart. Thinking was clearly not that composed once the trade didnt go my way. EXIT WAS EMOTIONAL TRADE AGAIN.

Down -41 ticks inc comm (which = 12 ticks), 2 down days running now.

Gotta head off, will think more today about all my mistakes.

Roll on tmrw!

Yesterday review cont....

Morning

Well, last cpl of days (mon/yest) have been bit tough. i have made some mistakes plus I can be hard on myself about not making ticks (looking for decent swings), there have been only a cpl of good setups (for me) for the last few tight days, and if i miss a cpl / scratch another then I force a trade as per yest. I also tried to be more aggressive but def did it at the wrong time/setups. Obviously my discipline lacked yest, also, but i have to accept that not every day is a gd trading day. So i think i have 3 options (maintaining discipline is a prerequisite with all obv):

1. do nothing (obv watch the mkt) and accept the bund will have quiet days, & try & selectively be aggressive
2. start scalping once i get cheaper commissions broker set up
3. look at other mkts as well as the bund

With such small sample size at the moment i will keep my options open, its a bit early to say & my consistency has been ok up to this point. but with re to my style of trading (looking for swings) i believe i need 4-6 setups a day to make ok ticks, yet have always been keen to focus all my energy on one mkt, watching flow & analysing as the day evolves, & even with a few minutes break i have missed poss setups, enforcing that stance. i will try & look in more detail at the eurostoxx & s&p, & do some backtesting in these whilst bund is quiet.

Lessons from yest to reiterate:
~more selective on intraday levels
~aggressive on great setups / never on avge setups
~discipline throughout
~if price consolidates around entry then look to exit & enter on better setup

Anyway enough of yest, i will post my day preview in a min, just wanted to get my thoughts down/out before trading today.

g/l.

Long setup 40s

Looking to go long 40s as per chart. Dont mind it building value a little above it, but too much consolidation here may affect the rr if it does pop lower, if that makes sense. It will def be 10 tick target max if it sets up.
