Interesting TF trade Porter. Why did you not short at 10:35AM EST @ 1216.2 when price exited the range ?

Alright, I don't know who else is thinking it but I'm calling it - I think this is bs.
I went through every post you put up - you are new to futures trading since November 2014 as stated in the first post, and you have posted 4 losing days in 9 months, all of them in November and December 2014. You have had no losing days in 2015. You literally have close to a 100% win rate . Your stats are impossible.
You also said that you would post a video of how you do your trades but you keep putting it off due to computer problems - but you can still trade and post screenshots ? What type of computer problems? You only need to install one of the many free screen capture systems you can find on Google and flick it up on youtube - I doubt computer problems are stopping you from doing that.
I would also hazard a guess that if your results are real, you would have a mountain of investors ready to shovel money to you to manage and job offers from every bank, prop shop and hedgefund under the sun, so it would be in your best interest to prove it.
Happy to pull my head in and apologise if you can produce proof such as broker statements but you will have to excuse me for being skeptical. It would be a shame if you are misleading the people that are following this journal, such as via hindsight trading or hiding losing days.

Hi Expro,
my rules are flexible. I hope that I can do a short video soon.
Flexible rules??? Then is this system not reproducible?
What is your aim with this trading journal?

I don't want to reproduce the system.
I hope you can find in it usable ideas.

I think he's using multiple time frame tick charts, heikinashi bars to all turn the same color, waits for 144tk to cross or bounce off of 20ma. 10 tick stop loss and initial 10 tick target that can be adjusted according to how it's trending. If the bigger time frame doesn't change he likely adjusts his target further away. I don't believe he trades the hours that are too unpredictable (such as NY open at 9:30 AM EST ) That's my best guess after sifting through his posts.
I got the vibe he doesn't care to share his method. I think this is sort of having 50/50 chance with a likely hood of catching the bigger trend (which is probably the edge). I do think he adjusts his stops as well, just don't know exactly what he looks at. (guessing the 20ma cross in the bollinger bands).
If I am right, this seems more focused at low to moderate volume hours rather than the high volume hours.

Hallelujah!
Even though Opstar has a good explanation for OP's strategy, it's likely to be a fruit of our pattern-seeking brain more than anything else.
What doesn't compute is why Porter would go to all this trouble, he's not selling anything. I guess some men just want to watch the world burn.

Isn't this the whole point of being on futures.io (formerly BMT )? Porter's not making it any easier.
Other threads, much more helpful than this has proven to be so far, have been taken down in flames. This has been going on for months without a iota of skepticism raised.

Speaking frankly the point of futures.io (formerly BMT) first is your own way to live. Journaling is the same story. Porter doesnt have to prove anything to anyone. He is not a vendor, he likes to trade, and that is it. He is not responsible to help anyone.

Hi,
I'm new on this Forum. I would like to participate just to congratulate Porter for his Journal.
His system, whatever it was, is really the Holy Grail. Or better said, I bet most of us are trading with the goal to get such a performance. Glad to see some achieve it. Just keep it up!

Yeah don't count on it.
This is exactly why there should be responsibility in terms of proof so we don't get twinkly eyed new kids on the block being mislead.
I asked for proof, I got told to go away. Don't need to say anymore. Actions speak louder than words.

That's your opinion and I respect it.
The fact is that on futures.io (formerly BMT) plenty of people come to add value, and not much is to be found here. If nobody brought anything to the table, this place would quickly die. And there's so much effort on the part of moderators to avoid content dilution (from consolidating threads to weeding out bullshit), that a popular thread like this, that adds so little, seems out of place on futures.io (formerly BMT).
Porter is free to do whatever he pleases.
But when you do it publicly you implicitly become open to criticism.

I find a significant amount of value in this journal. Porter hasn't provided a simple, mechanical trading strategy. Rather, he has forced readers to analyze his charts and learn for themselves what he does - which I believe I have to a certain extent. I've learned more from this journal than any other on this site primarily because it has forced me to think, research, and develop a self-generated strategy.
You are free to state your opinion, but please realize that your posts add little value to this discussion. There is absolutely no implicit requirement for journals to state their trading strategy - doing so is completely discretionary.

You've learned that you need to find your own edge from 20 pages of this (and not from the Ask me anything thread?) And that's more valuable than the wealth of knowledge on the spoo thread? The homework thread on ES? The volume profile thread?
I understand we all learn in different ways, but I find your claim hard to believe.

What I'm trying to do is to coax some explanation out of Porter, for my benefit and that of whomever else fails to glean insight from mute entry-exits on a chart. Opstar's got a solid hypothesis, it'd be nice to have it confirmed by OP.
There is no requirement obviously, but if you don't ask you don't get. Again, many a thread has been shot down because of lack of substantiation, it'd be a pity not to share more our of Porter's strategy seeing the brilliant results it has.
I don't see how it's possible to disagree with the notion that the sharing of information, especially on a platform created especially for the purpose, is the right thing to do.

You promised a video but did not find time ......maby you have another excuse.
I dont need your video but a promise is a promise.
Maby it got lost in "moving from location "
maby you are taking trades in replay data and let believe others that you took those trades.
I dont care....you have the right to make your journal but.............. be serious. That's all what matters to me.
the only thing you can loose is your credibility.
you lost mine, for shure

Well, simply stated, this thread has helped me tremendously - believe it, or don't - it's beside the point.
The question of whether sharing information is the right thing or not was not being discussed - not sure how you arrived at that. While forums are designed to facilitate discussion, again, there is absolutely no requirement a person share their strategy, especially if it's successful. This is where the conflict lies: A trader with a successful strategy would likely be reluctant to share (understandable), while others skeptical of the trader's success wish to see the strategy to assess its validity (understandable).
A note to the mods: Please do not lock this thread - there is much value offered here. And a note to Porter - please keep posting.
With that, I exit this discussion.

Yah that's generally what logic is.
I pointed out that I would gladly apologise and congratulate if results are real by way of proof. I never said he had to share his strategy, just proof he isn't pulling everyone's leg. I have respect for those who are good at what they do but none for liars.
I pointed out the implausibility of his results, got told to go away. I asked about his video which he clearly can't produce in real time and like everyone else got ignored. If you can't come to your own conclusions, I can't help you.
If you want to learn from a potentially bogus set of results go right ahead, it's your own time and money you're wasting anyway.
This world is full of bs, bs in this category is particularly strong. Draw your own conclusions.

If you look at his charts, then use the same settings on your preferred markets, you will get a feel for trading opportunities arising. I have integrated the dax with a 70 and 444 tick chart , trading the Eurostox against it, think only BS is that Porter is no novice and has definitely shared a gem for some reason.
Which makes futures.io (formerly BMT ) what it is

I would also hazard a guess that if your results are real, you would have a mountain of investors ready to shovel money to you to manage and job offers from every bank, prop shop and hedgefund under the sun, so it would be in your best interest to prove it.
While he is showing an excellent win rate and results, I doubt you could trade this method as a CTA . The targets are way too small to scale up in size. If you added 50-100 contracts to this method on the TF or CL you would get eaten alive by slippage .
In order to trade this using OPM your targets would need to expand to 80-150+ ticks to make it profitable in the long run.

I started a small account, because it is the student period.
And all the trades you post are cash trades?

@Porter ,
With people questioning the reality of this thread, why not simply post an account statement or any other form of verification?

Just to clarify, your charts are CL futures - your cash trades are also CL futures, and not spot FX CFD 's? I noticed you list LMAX in your profile.
Given your charts/postings, account size, and not taking losses - you're basically a unicorn.

As someone who posted real-time trades (all cash, all of my trades) daily for over six months that included multiple forms of verification (not just statements), I can tell you that no one questioned them. They did complain I was bragging, but no one questioned the actual documents.

Do you have a reason why you didn't start to increase your contract ?
You're steady from a long time, I'm just curious
Thanks

I'm glad I took the time to watch and study every post in this trade.
I will implement your trading style tomorrow on a sim trading account and if you want I can post pictures just the one/three contracts as you do it.

Nice one Porter!
I looked at my charts and if I would of traded the same trade my rules would of entered me at 1126.0 and I would of been out at 1122.6
If I'm right about this, will you let me help others in this community by sharing this method?
I believe there are others out there that don't fully understand that your pictures really do say it all but they need to implement them to what you already know about the market.
