Welcome to futures.io.

Welcome, Guest!

This forum was established to help traders (especially futures traders) by openly sharing indicators, strategies, methods, trading journals and discussing the psychology of trading.

We are fundamentally different than most other trading forums:
  • We work extremely hard to keep things positive on our forums.
  • We do not tolerate rude behavior, trolling, or vendor advertising in posts.
  • We firmly believe in openness and encourage sharing. The holy grail is within you, it is not something tangible you can download.
  • We expect our members to participate and become a part of the community. Help yourself by helping others.

You'll need to register in order to view the content of the threads and start contributing to our community. It's free and simple, and we will never resell your private information.

went long...broke even....

went short....good 7+ pts...
tried couple of longs....but day like today....could not get it correct.

idea is simple....not be greedy...end +ve is bottomline...maybe selling over... over n out..as of writing see price move higher...but once out...stay out.

no bias...and not going to hold in either direction...taking a lil of the pie is what is ok for me though the range is huge. this is more from my limitation of not being able to be present near the screen due to other commitments especially after 2 hours into the open

marker to self:- also since have systems with excel in place for study which is not ready ....not going to have more bias till it collects data over periods of time

Just wondering... Did you get that NQ excel sheet I sent in a PM over on the futures.io (formerly BMT) beta site as a test?

still not ready for ES. Will not step into ES till can find time as it takes peak performance and dedication for looking at screens which i cannot do now at all.....and need to remove emotions & especially ego when in a trade as i saw that was the biggest detriment for not cancelling a trade gone wrong.

Last time i had a trade on ES which was a success was probably more than 10pts & has been yrs or sometime...probably during the end of EU crisis had bagged 13 odd pts with 2-4pts a trade rather than some rock stars capturing it in 1 trade. But that is History....& bad habits have kept creeping and still to understand how/why. So going back to ES the attempt will be to stay right and capture few pts rather than homeruns. have never been a homerun guy...rather singles and quick exits.

long term equities with hedges is easier w/o stress ...... but have a desire to trade ES .... so will keep at ES for next few months.. as am not upto par per previous perf. Will enter next yr into longer term pos's...with hedges in market depending on conditions then. dont want to look at future as there is quite some stuff to do in the present.

am totally off any long term pos's...... but not sure if the run ends here(ofcourse anything can happen)... anyways believe volume is the key to read short and long term. Sharing what i may look at when into long terms....

cheers n wont really journal in public domain....till i can devote some screen time in the am's or can start capturing excess of 5-10pts. guess whichever comes 1st

had said wont journal...but days like this if watching markets want to pen a few to reflect back.

its more of a marker as this has been a very eventful day. this place wont see me show trades for a while..... though was a great day and read on the markets. need to control ego and practice humility with full discipline.

hoping can do a tribute and thanks to few folks/mentors in a few months who have played an amazing role knowingly/unknowingly in my trading aspirations. some live many miles away.

anyways seems like today...& especially tomorrow's "friday markets open/close price"...will be interesting...since many long only portfolios would be now scaled back & some closed.

below is what i see... if was in a long equity would have evaluated...if not in ES..depending on entry point this might have been pure noise....(not a advice...just marker to myself as not in a single pos). and would like to see broad index hammers....which is there...but not as evident as on NY.
