In all cash....hmm have i missed the market. Well will see. Sure market looks like it is showing strength. Am hoping can get into some stuff as am not convinced what the markets are showing me for NYSE/Nas/Amex & Russ for a pos...but these are just my thoughts and has no relevance to what market does and will do.

But would still like some further strength or a quick down. well will see ...though i would have loved a 100pt'er from here to buy...well next 7-12 days may tell or a max wait into 2nd wk sept for me is my thoughts for now.

may tag along a trade if am able to get in. May need to be staggered will see. May also be open to longer term Options on my fav's which am trying to explore for a potential SDA pos. Anyways this is only a marker to myself & my thoughts for my future reflection only with all open ended possibilities.

cheers

did get into a small pos on volatility. Seems like market chugging & possibility of a higher move. I did take the pos looking at EOD as of yesterday & nothing real strikes out with today's EOD.

May get into few addl pos on volatility if markets chug higher but not yet decided. Will depend most on what Market breadth is showing or will need to cut pos. Nothing of note on my radar. Breadth not revealing much at the moment...though still a lil wary but flexible. Market knows better.

Note to self...if market takes off keep an eye for 10d/30d & NH-NL Ratio and similar A/D ratio for future reference which may have not yet caught up. Skewness and new patterns?..also compare 10d/30d ARMs. Small caps seem to have chugged along better. Explore pos taken and underlying breadth data. Also explore Decl Vol.

above is a note for my understanding only.

cheers

well what can you say markets rule. anyways am not seeing anything ...will be keeping a look out for High.Lows & A/D ratio for a while. Seems my entry on the volatility price is still holding...lol not sure for how long as this beautiful market chugs along higher.

anyways a lil busy on the personal life....not much Day trading since early Year. In for the swings in SDA. Hence will try and post charts or excel stuff i am looking at. Some of it will be cryptic as I may not want to divulge more and ...it;s more for my reference.

cheers

It's a wait and watch for me. Nothing jumps out. Few volumes are poor...few ARMs shouting today...but nothing out of the blues.

It's now been quite a few days when i got into the small volatility play...8.19.2014 to be precise. Surprising those prices are still holding for me with S&P chugging higher. Well anyways i wont add onto it for the moment.

My mental buy on some of my momentum plays would have triggered if S&P had gone lower which did not happen...so no buys happened on my fav's. Will be a tad sad if do not get to buy anymore this year...but it's ok. The returns on the SDA i have is something if i can maintain and repeat Y/Y i am done.

I still am expecting s&p close band to be 2100-2200 for year end...which is 10% away from here. I will however not play for 10% since the RR ratio is not valid for me. Make it a 20-25% and the equation tickles me. This is what i would need markets to do if it wants me to commit myself of taking the risk in getting into few multiple small positions ...that too with caution.

All of the above is for my learning only. Nothing I say is for anyone other than me though this is a public forum.

cheers

nothing really happening at my end on the SDA. Busy in life currently with trading being less prioritized. Journal-ling for the love of it..though not very active. Anyways.... will only report as a journal entry if i sell or see something unusual.

Still on the VXX. Will wait till maybe month end.

attaching screen shot for my reference only...colors don't mean anything.

no trading...flat. may get into some positions in next few days since the price points on my momentum trades did not get to my buys. Lol its never a guarantee they will.

Love what breadth & VWAP/TPO/VolProf charts have shown...but for most part it is a after the fact...unless coupled with other analysis.

Will mostly be into swings for this year.

Not into day trades at all at this time due to too many things and time constraints.....but if i was would be very interested in what Velocity of Trade shows when price moves and the positions of commercials.

I have sometime in hand. Will detail what I would look for in trades if was day trading. This is my journal no inference by anyone should be made implicitly or explicitly by what i detail to myself. Will try and post few charts. Some of this might be words & some charts as they may have proprietary settings which i may not have priv's to share.

Day trading is not easy. Never has been for me. But lets say it's not difficult for a disciplined mind. Anyways will go ahead & describe the philosophy behind decision making some without explicit charts in what i believe over few days/weeks.

There also are patterns for the discerning eye when there are potential 20-25 point drops...which is what I love. The life force behind humans is "Breath". The life force behind markets I also firmly believe is "Breadth".

cheers

have we based and moving higher. I dont know. All i know is i did not buy into the stocks i wanted to. If it does come to vwap on ES which is @ 1944 as of writing this... may see what to do.

anyways i had mentioned my journal would illustrate a few methods i use.. one way i make inferences...is study index breadths when topping out & comparing them to TPO/Vol Prof. If I look at them over a period of time the analysis never fails. That does not give me day trades as I do not have time for that currently. But breath is also key to smaller moves. But there is a sign which gives a probability of a impending move at saturation levels"OB/OS". I will not share explicit charts on the same as I believe that is my bread and butter if into Daily monitoring....i.e 10-20pt moves or bigger when it happens.

But throwing some charts(ADSPD/VWAP/TPO) which I do have as some portion of my arsenal which goes from 1min to 30mins.The inputs are many as I have distribution over min 7 monitors of data and at times too much info can overload....so if i am day trading...will glance at them but main indicator is Index BREADTH....which i would reply on for small or the large moves coupled with Volume/Commercial activity & Velocity of Trade.

Bottom line for me...is being able to read when Market Larger participants go from Long to short/vice-versa & Breadth which has Volume info. There are actually top of line feeds available but being able to read data from them to make inferences needs skills and expertise I do not currently have so i rely on index Breadth.

too bad none of my buy points hit on the stocks i wanted. no clear direction here if levels such as 1860 -1870 not breached. If so will play along. why miss a play. (for my understanding & context only).

well seems no real panic as no real out of context issues per my understanding.
there has been zero capitulation for a long time. They seem to have taken out few late longs.

May get in...... will watch tomorrow's open & Mondays and see what EOD excel shows this evening.

cheers
