Hello,

I use this method for my entry and exit points, although my latest posts are related to levels of importance for the market, so i take this levels and plan my trades using my method to plan my entry and exit, if you can see in yesterdays trade i get in 92.25 that is around a BRN (92.20) and exited the trade exactly at 92.37 why? well 92.37 was an immediate resistance level marked with my support/resistance indicator.

Cheers.

Hi JD,

In your latest trade screen shots are you using this method to trade or do you have additional rules/items you are looking for before taking a trade?

Thanks for sharing,

Thanks for the reply JD. What indicator are you using to plot S/R or do you manually draw the S/R lines?

JD.

Well first, it sounds like it is Back To The Future's vendor product, which is commercial and it would be piracy to post it if it is not given away free. If it is given away free, you can just link to their download page on their website.

But you are correct, no DLL's.

Mike

Hello,

well, we half month October past now, its time for my mid month analysis, and as far i can see we could be facing a change in trend either up or down, October has traded a range of 6 dollars, from 88.00 to 94.00, but i see a price wedge forming and every time we get closer to the tip of this triangle the price decides for a direction and this is were we can get in and make some profits in the way, you could check the attached image if you like.

Hello,

What do you see??!, well, i a few things,

1. medium sellers in the tape, you can see selling from 13 to 43 contracts that tells us something, i cant see any buyers to creak 91.26 if this continues to the night session this could signal a falling prices during Tokyo and London sessions,

2. If price breaks down 91.00 we will see prices go touch 90.00 and even lower.

3. Look at the levels for today, price went exactly at 91.10 and have sustained to fall further, for how much time??

but at the end actual price action will tell everything!!

Cheers.

Hello,

Yesterday i lost the opportunity to trade due to some problems with CQG and AMP server connection, but now we are doing great.

I just closed my first trade of the day, for a 20+ ticks gain, i used Mid Number and Big Round Number strategy based on Stochastics and TDI patterns, the tape also told me that were buyers and not so much sellers, i think today will be an interesting day, it seems to be a RANGE day, 92.33 as top so far and 91.30 as bottom so far, lets see how much profit can we make today!!...

Cheers.

Hello,

Some have been asking about my Levels of support/resistance on crude Oil, well let me tell you that this is based on an indicator called FPC (Fractal Pivot Confluence) of backtothefuturedotcom, i use them because they give an accurate intention of the market on where has historically occured a open/close or high/low, depending on how you set the indicator, i use this and of course my own analysis looking at the whole picture, but generally i save time using this indicator, combined with my strategy that is based on price structure, momentum(stochastics) and directional analysis (TDI indicator).

this is just to drive you exactly to the indicator i use to plot this areas of responsive buying and selling.

Cheers,

JD

Hello, and good morning all,

Well, today we have Crude Oil inventories, this could move the market either way, now, lets review some levels for today, 92.76-92.92 its the highest level for today meaning if this zone is broken we could have a run up to 93.50-94.00, the lowest level is 91.30 immediate support is 92.20 if we break this level we could see a run down to 91.00 zone, also the number for the inventories are interesting, if you would like to check this out, you can find it here: This Week In Petroleum Crude Oil Section,

Cheers.

Hello,

Lessons learned today!

I have two accounts for trading, one to trade S&P 500 and one to trade CL and other currencies,
but today, i mixed the accounts and opened a trade in the ES in the same account i trade CL, WRONG!!!, i started my morning with this mistake, that costed me about $400, a trade that taught me a lesson,

LESSON learned on the ES.

First and foremost perform a correct analysis of the situation,

but what killed me today was a simple rule that i passed over, DO NOT TRADE WHEN THE MAs ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PRICE OR 4-6 PREVIOUS PRICE BARS, lesson learned for me!!.

Now here comes the CL into my aid!!!

i saw this trade the opportunity to run about 60-70 ticks, to recover the loss generated by the ES, and that was what happened, i run this trade for 60 ticks recover 412 loss and made some $$ in the process.

So i finished my day positive 18+ ticks.

Cheers.

JD

JD , when do you plan to switch to December Contract?
Volume looks like December is now more than Novembers Contract today compared to yesterday.
also Open Interest from yesterday was Much more in Decembers.
Thanks.

Good Trade, i often stop out with being to close while Trailing also.
Yes, i see you have switched to December now, i was wondering should i switch when i seen the Volume and also Open Interest are more now compared to yesterday.yesterday was when i checked Open Interest was Much more in December , but Volume in December was still lower than November.
But today the Volume is now more in December, so i will switch to December as you have.
Thanks.

Hello JD, i just wanted to share this with you to see if you may find it useful.
i mostly use Renko charting for my trading decisions, but i have found that some where around the size of a 10 tick chart is Good for Trailing with Stop Levels While i am still watching larger Renko chart for a larger Intraday Trend.
the 10 tick or around that size is also useful for Entries along side your larger Intraday charts.
i send a Chart to show how Nice it looks.

Posting this info of Volume and Open Interest for CL contracts so that everyone can see that
December contract is the Most Liquid contract and in my opinion the one to be trading.
I was watching this earlier this week and November was still more liquid, but now i think
it is time to be trading December.

Well,

I only was able to make +34 ticks it has been a great day, to trade for the full time trader.

This week seems to be an interesting one, due to some news but overall the market is playing, the big money has been selling since last week, (check image attached on CFTC), so this could trigger a long trade since they are positioning themselves.

Cheers.

Well,

I only was able to make +34 ticks it has been a great day, to trade for the full time trader.

This week seems to be an interesting one, due to some news but overall the market is playing, the big money has been selling since last week, (check image attached on CFTC), so this could trigger a long trade since they are positioning themselves.

Cheers.

Great trading JD. If I may ask what is your exit trigger or target.

Thanks
Hector

Hello Hector,

Regarding my targets, i normally target to close my trades at round and mid numbers,

Round Numbers: 00, 20, 50, 80, (ex: 90.00, 90.20, 90.50, 90.80)

Mid Numbers: 10, 35, 65, 90 (ex: 90.10, 90.35, 90.65, 90.90)

This way i will always be inside the range and this will take me to profits faster.

now this goes in levels, i mean if i get in the trade @ 90.90 my immediate target will be 91.00, and if i see buyers come into the tape i could target 90.10, 90.20, 90.35 and so on.

If there is a plan for you to follow, you only need in CL 20 ticks daily to make around $4000 a month with only one contract!!.

Hope this helps.

JD.-

Cheers.

Hello,

Well i just came in time to my office to trade the Crude Oil Inventories report which came out very positive +5.9M and the forecast was 2.0M, this caused the price to fall, and we took position to the sell side 2 minutes before the release,
why:
1. API data was revised higher for stocks on Crude,
2. Price kept going higher just before the news release (this could be interpreted as big money trying to keep prices high then they can sell and make money in the news all the way down. what we did)
3. 85.69 was a magnet price to the downside.

Well we are done for the day, with +50 ticks in the pocket.

Cheers.

JD

Hello,

Well what do we have on CL??, first there is a test and a very big clue to be a day that favor long trades, it needs to break 86.30 and test back 86.30 to confirm a upside biased market, here you see the levels.

Hello Friends,

Well what do we have on CL?

1. Price is between Todays Open and Yesterday's Open (86.00 - 85.65 respectively) , this is a range of 35 ticks, Consumer sentiment data came almost without change.

This brings us to three scenarios,

a. Price breaks 85.65 and tests 85.24, 85.00 (we want to see sellers in the tape, downside pressure and responsive buying at this zone to be later broken.

b. Price Breaks 86.00 to test 86.26 - 86.40, this should be done by breaking this level and after this test it again to check if there is buying interest and "they" wanting to have higher prices than yesterday.

c. Price goes Range bound respecting this two levels 86.00-85.65 and this could trigger some profit taking.

Here you have the images.

First time responding.... thanks for the informative thread.. a question...

for senario "c" above, I shorted the range at 86.02, target 85.63, stoploss 85.87 on the second fail to rise above 86.40 (about 9:40 est). would you have traded this range?

thanks

Hello,

Toucan, perfectly done, yes i would have traded that opportunity, i was looking at S&P 500, may just to be sure i would have traded the test of the level, after the failure, but still your spot works perfectly, check this here.

sandptrader and jdneeman..... thanks...

I added crude and natural gas to my trading earlier this year and am still learning. I don't trade ranges very often, but this one had enough range to meet my target. I am more of a break out kinda guy and appreciate your analysis of the top/bottom ranges.

thanks again

Hi,

I have read some of your posts and was wondering if you happen to have a summary of some kind that has all of what you have shared on/for indicators and methods.

Thanks

Based on what you are asking, there may be some that have compiled some data with results of their Trades and or Methods.
As for me, i am using Indicators and support/resistance that form technical Trade set ups.
but i have not compiled any statistics or data.
I use Multiple size and style charts to make decisions, and usually try and trade in the direction of a larger size intraday trend, and use smaller chart for Entry/Exits and Stop placement.

well this is quite a good article on Crude. from Joseph Southlakis:

December Nymex crude oil futures have been trading within a relatively tight $84.94 to $87.14 balance bracket for the last 14 days. Additionaly, the market has consecutive "inside days", pinching the ranges into a pennant shape.

BE READY FOR A BREAKOUT

When a volatile market such as crude oil becomes contained in a pennant shape for several days, a significant move usually follows the break from balance, which could last a few days.

UPSIDE MOVE

The 1st step is to see which way the market breaks from Fridays "inside day" range. If the market breaks from the inside day to the upside, it may test the 87.14 balance bracket high. If the market gains acceptance above the 87.14 balance bracket high, it may attempt to fill the 87.14 to 88.58 gap.

DOWNSIDE MOVE

If the market breaks brom Fridays "inside day" to the downside, it may test the 84.94 balance bracket low. If the market gains acceptance below the 84.94 balance bracket low, 83.65 and 82.10 are the next downside references on the weekly/monthly charts.

Be careful of the market fake in one direction, then rip in the opposite direction. Be patient as it is better to be alittle late entering a trade than alittle early.

I have some more things to share , but will hold back until becoming an Elite Member.

i wanted to post some charts for learning material.
these charts show a larger intraday chart= Renko 11 bar size and the other charts are Renko 4 bar size
for Entry/Exits and Stop placement.
There are 5 focus points on the larger Renko chart size 11 labeled A, B, C, D, E.
These points are shown individually on each smaller Renko charts size 4, they show Divergence
on each turning point based on the larger size charts A,B,C,D,E areas.

We at the end of the month already, markets were closed, i dint trade today, but checking what happened i see that today was plenty of opportunities to trade, i just show one here, an almost perfect setup using round numbers, divergences, etc. could have rendered a good amount of ticks.

Best Regards.

hello JD, i like your detailed analysis of that Set up, i was trying to follow from the time it occurred and i am positive you are 2 hours behind my time for that trade.
i mean i am EST or eastern standard time, what time is your charts set for?
i know you are in Israel so Amp must have you on a different server?
That was an Excellent Set up , many indications to take that trade like you have shown.
by the way, i wanted to let you know i Appreciate you allowing me to post some charts in your thread and be a part of Crude Oil trading.

hello JD, i like your detailed analysis of that Set up, i was trying to follow from the time it occurred and i am positive you are 2 hours behind my time for that trade.
i mean i am EST or eastern standard time, what time is your charts set for?
i know you are in Israel so Amp must have you on a different server?
That was an Excellent Set up , many indications to take that trade like you have shown.
by the way, i wanted to let you know i Appreciate you allowing me to post some charts in your thread and be a part of Crude Oil trading.

Also Renko size 4 chart showing it's Divergence turning points along the way so far today.

Just wanted to see what will unfold as the day goes by= Learning material

Hello all,

Well actually i dont see any good to trade today, volume is really low, 38K contracts traded at this moment, spread is quite wide 3-5 ticks, but its an opportunity to spot structures in the market, without volume there is no liquidity, the moves could so slow or too fast that can blast your position if not handled correctly.

Cheers.

JD

Just a chart showing S/R areas, these lines are not exact, but give you the area of S/R on your own charts.
This is same chart i usually post, lines are from yesterdays action.

Good Morning All,

Well we are almost at years end!!, what do i see on Crude??

1. We are in a narrow range of 86.10 - 86.62,
2. There is a price wedge in medium time frame, this could spark a break either side.
3. There is a bunch of news to be released in about 5 min.

For me it seems that the price will rocket up. there is divergence in the 6 range chart developing.

JD

Don't worry the opportunity will come!, i have had some things on hands since a while, i have made all my analysis, risk, NAV, etc... and i think 2013-2014 are point decisive for me... so far lets continue making some ticks here.
