Welcome to futures io.

Welcome, Guest!

This forum was established to help traders (especially futures traders) by openly sharing indicators, strategies, methods, trading journals and discussing the psychology of trading.

We are fundamentally different than most other trading forums:
  • We work extremely hard to keep things positive on our forums.
  • We do not tolerate rude behavior, trolling, or vendor advertising in posts.
  • We firmly believe in openness and encourage sharing. The holy grail is within you, it is not something tangible you can download.
  • We expect our members to participate and become a part of the community. Help yourself by helping others.

You'll need to register in order to view the content of the threads and start contributing to our community. It's free and simple, and we will never resell your private information.

Yes, I have been quiet. I felt that I wasn't thinking right about a few business related issues and decided to go introspective for solutions. Still enjoying that process.

Do you mean doing some self-reflection in order to re-direct focus?

I've read a couple of books on the subject .. they do get a bit into "spirituality" but not in a religious way. More like reflection of your own personal viewpoints and how you connect with others.

Hope you find what you're looking for .. I for one thoroughly enjoyed the content in your thread and look forward to more when/if you're able.

I'm around though and I'm happy that you enjoyed the thread. I'd chat about stuff or hear what is on your mind, but I think I'll be absent from "wizard" status for a while.

Be Well.

Koyaanisqatsi

Actually to refer to Koyaanisqatsi without being disrespectful.

Would be Godfrey Reggio. The documentary filmmaker that made Koyaanisqatsi.

Documentary filmmaking has nothing to do with trading.

To come up with this word Koyaanisqatsi.

It was a name for a film. This has nothing to do with trading.

I've actually spoken to this man, this director three times. He owns land in Santa Fe. I was working on my own documentaries. I was trying to get him to be my executive producer.

At the very least, know where you got this term from, and maybe sit down and watch the entire film/ Phillip Glass did the music for that film

Please don't throw around this term Koyaanisqatsi loosely.

Futures Edge on FIO
Would someone please let me know which indicators have been used here, #225 of this thread, see link below.

An explanation of how they work would be ultra useful as well.

Many thanks!

Get over yourself man. Who the hell are you to say use a term carefully. An explaination was made, deal with it or move on.

The indicator from post #187 has a minor bug. The smoothing does not work with Butterworth, Gauss and Supersmoother Filters because they were not called correctly. I have now modified the indicator. You will find it attached.

I will also try to get the original indicator replaced or removed.

--------

The HeikenAshi Experimental (aka HAMA) a great indicator - can it be translated to Ninja 8?

Could you point me to this indicator please?

It might be an old version of the anaHeikinAshi, which is available in the download section of the forum.

NinjaTrader 8 comes with genuine Heikin-Ashi bars.

I would need to check whether smoothed Heikin-Ashi can be implented as bar type or as indicator.

Thank you for the original NT7 and for your willingness to look at making this into an NT8 version. This page has the discussion and the indicator - https://futures.io/trading-journals/20222-koyaanisqatsi-hototo-wldman-out-balance-20.html. The original design contains multiple moving average capabilities, and whle others may use all the settings, but I only use the WMA - weighted and either Valcu or Vervort is certainly adequate without redoing the entire indicator if that streamlines the effort?
