Welcome to futures.io.

Welcome, Guest!

This forum was established to help traders (especially futures traders) by openly sharing indicators, strategies, methods, trading journals and discussing the psychology of trading.

We are fundamentally different than most other trading forums:
  • We work extremely hard to keep things positive on our forums.
  • We do not tolerate rude behavior, trolling, or vendor advertising in posts.
  • We firmly believe in openness and encourage sharing. The holy grail is within you, it is not something tangible you can download.
  • We expect our members to participate and become a part of the community. Help yourself by helping others.

You'll need to register in order to view the content of the threads and start contributing to our community. It's free and simple, and we will never resell your private information.

Maybe...

KVO 3
1) KVO crosses signal line
2) KVO crosses zero line

As tertiary application in support of other data, don't really need a new chart.

Shit...

can I say shit directed at myself in my journal?

@Fat Tails

I am sorry Harry that I was distracted looking at code (cause that is so fun and easy for me) that I did not see the smoothed version. Might that be "cumulative" as the article mentions buy including multiple bars or is this smoothed "externally"? Of Course I'm going to read the script and try to learn.

Is the signal line color change bothersome for you? I'd like to see it and I'm going to give it a try?

Dan

As I go deeper...

with this KVO I do notice that the "jagged" line is key in sniffing out those little divergences from extreme level. That is a conflict for me because I prefer:

1) color
2) straight lines
3) smooth squiggley lines

89) rough jagged lines

But I think I really need to stretch my preference and give this a real look.

Thus far I really like the anaKVO!

@Fat Tails as usual thank you so much for the great contributions and for stopping by here to comment/help me.

There is ES

with out all my artwork. If you apply those same three ideas I think KVO does better than hold it's ground.

I'm going to...

Futures Edge on FIO
take the color change language from anaBollingerUniversal and try to create a color change for the 13 period signal line in the anaKVO. As I have already changed the way my anaKVO displays value data I will ultimately strip off the ana prefix as to prevent inquiries on my changes from clogging Harry's inbox.

Please post your finished version here. I'd like to try it out. Thanks.

After all, it's what you learn AFTER you know it all, that counts!

I was asked to change..

the name to omit the ana prefix. I used find/change to swap anaKVO with dbKVO and this is the attempt to complie.

Great...

now none of my indicators will compile.

I think I am using the same name twice so I will delete what I tried to create and see if that will restore me to where I started.
