Welcome to futures.io.

Welcome, Guest!

This forum was established to help traders (especially futures traders) by openly sharing indicators, strategies, methods, trading journals and discussing the psychology of trading.

We are fundamentally different than most other trading forums:
  • We work extremely hard to keep things positive on our forums.
  • We do not tolerate rude behavior, trolling, or vendor advertising in posts.
  • We firmly believe in openness and encourage sharing. The holy grail is within you, it is not something tangible you can download.
  • We expect our members to participate and become a part of the community. Help yourself by helping others.

You'll need to register in order to view the content of the threads and start contributing to our community. It's free and simple, and we will never resell your private information.

It is good to see...

some of those oscilators again...But some of them harken back to a time that was not so sweet. For me for right now, the first thing I'm going to atempt is to get the red signal line to alternate color based on slope of the line. Let me think about what that will display and see if this is a useful path...I nee3d right path right mountain.

Oscillators galore

Since you are oscillating between all of these indicators pulled out of your Ninjascript pantry, why not take the Adaptive CCI that I just posted in Elite downloads for a spin.

https://futures.io/download/vip_elite_circle/1551-download.html?view

Seems to be just about as good as anything else I have seen for plotting detrended cycles.

If you are really serious about multiple signal lines on your KVO plot, the indicator could be modified to generate as many signal lines as you might desire at any given time As an added bonus that approach would reduce the CPU consumption of the indicator by around 2 orders of magnitude due to not just eliminating duplicate indicators, but also due to various techniques that can easily be applied but that I have not seen used elsewhere: Redundant tick rejection, calculating the MA values within the indicator, and using arrays of limited size, rather than DataSeries objects, to store the datasets from which the moving averages are calculated.

A DataSeries has at least 256 elements, but an EMA only requires a data set of TWO elements, and an SMA of period P only needs a data set of P elements, which is also usually a lot less than 256... I think.

This approach might seem like overkill... until not using it causes chart freeze in a fast market.

The KVO is the blue line and that is graphic representation of the difference between the 34 period and the 55 period smoothed EMA of the volume force. Is that correct?

The Red line here is the 13 period smoothed EMA of the KVO. Is that correct?
@Fat Tails Harry, I believe that I see that same language in your indicator script.

Correct, as explained on page #3 of the document posted in #514.

how we think chapter 4 the uses of reason

The rational and logical can control the impulses and decide what to do. We can control us, watch us.
This job is done by prefrontral cortex part of the brain.
we feel impulses and emotions but we can control them, think and choose
to take good decisions we need to stay in a "deliberated calm state"
if i receive a lot of data, the prefrontal cortex could get saturated and our decision probably will be wrong
it is important to focus , filter the useless information
we need to choose what to think, and keep focus on that, if not, we will not be sucesful
the creative solutions come from that part, when we think ,and take past experiencies in consideration
we have the tendency to see only the short term, quick benefits
it is more difficult the self control thinking in a long term rewards

La lucha es de igual a igual contra uno mismo
The fight is fair against oneself

I want to continue the original thought of reviewing the KVO as well as the points mentioned by @Big Mike and @Zondor. I am hoping to have some time today...but not sure.
