Welcome to futures.io.

Welcome, Guest!

This forum was established to help traders (especially futures traders) by openly sharing indicators, strategies, methods, trading journals and discussing the psychology of trading.

We are fundamentally different than most other trading forums:
  • We work extremely hard to keep things positive on our forums.
  • We do not tolerate rude behavior, trolling, or vendor advertising in posts.
  • We firmly believe in openness and encourage sharing. The holy grail is within you, it is not something tangible you can download.
  • We expect our members to participate and become a part of the community. Help yourself by helping others.

You'll need to register in order to view the content of the threads and start contributing to our community. It's free and simple, and we will never resell your private information.

So...

short was the way...for now. 14 ish was good support. BUT I'm still nothing done. I thought it was strange that the data came and 6E did not respond for over 6 minutes...that or there where big bids resting around 14-15.

Well wldman is a bridesmaid once more. Nothing done on the day and probably headed out empty.

...DANG that AAPL numba rocked.
Dan

I don't really know you but I would not get too excited about that AAPL stock

Here is their latest financial announcement

Stock Market Quotes | Stock Market Quotes and Symbols

here is the income statement from that report

the thing that strikes me that a whole year has past and Apple's revenues barely are better than the previous year....a year when those numbers were terrible and caused a decline in their share price

I suppose some of the good numbers are a breath of relief that their numbers were higher but I doubt this will result in a boost to their share price.

this chart shows the share price locked in a small ichimoku green cloud...it does not look bullish to me.

I know you are not focused on Apple and your remark was probably just a casual one as you surfed those news items...Ibut I thought I would offer my 2 cents....hope you don't mind.

LOL...

@Underexposed

Stop after the first 5 words and then think. Do I really want to post this. Is it productive? Is it positive? Who am I communicating with? What do I hope to accomplish with this?

I don't "surf" news items.

This time around I've been buying aapl stock since the spring of 03 when Jobs said he was interested in competing with traditional handhelds and PDA's via a phone device. Occasionally I've exercised long puts, put have maintained and added to net longs for over ten years.

Ask me how that has worked out for me before you talk to me like I'm some kind of newbie to equities and finance.

My initial aapl stock has a cost basis of less than 10 dollars. I've been doing the conversion and adding quarterly...do the math man.

Ok as a long time AAPL guy what do you make of the 7:1 split?

Well...

It will mean an entire new raft of potential buyers...folks that can buy or feel like buying a greater, but still relatively small number of shares. What it means for me is that I can buy more puts and sell more calls possibly across exp months. The increase in the buyback is good as well imo. The nice increase in the dividend along with net premium will allow me to buy more...essentially for free out of flow from the investment. To me that is how to accrue wealth.

The issuance of debt to increase the buyback is a small concern, but rates for them are essentially zero. Is Ichan involved...what is his track record?

Just offering an observation from my perspective. No disrespect to your abilities implied on my part. I am not a newbie at stocks either and I have a degree of success at reading stock charts.

Despite, the 7% bounce today, I doubt it will hold...but that is my opinion ...we shall see.

I mean no disrespect to you...as I am sure you mean no disrespect to me...right!!!

So...

@Big Mike

I was thinking that I could start a "spoof" journal...one where I buy the low and sell the high for size across numerous products every day. One where I capture like 5 times the ADR in any particular product...all backed up by wonderful and beautiful charts.

Would that be fun?

No.

Due to time constraints, please do not PM me if your question can be resolved or answered on the forum.

Need help?
1) Stop changing things. No new indicators, charts, or methods. Be consistent with what is in front of you first.
2) Start a journal and post to it daily with the trades you made to show your strengths and weaknesses.
3) Set goals for yourself to reach daily. Make them about how you trade, not how much money you make.
4) Accept responsibility for your actions. Stop looking elsewhere to explain away poor performance.
5) Where to start as a trader? Watch this webinar and read this thread for hundreds of questions and answers.
