Welcome to futures.io.

Welcome, Guest!

This forum was established to help traders (especially futures traders) by openly sharing indicators, strategies, methods, trading journals and discussing the psychology of trading.

We are fundamentally different than most other trading forums:
  • We work extremely hard to keep things positive on our forums.
  • We do not tolerate rude behavior, trolling, or vendor advertising in posts.
  • We firmly believe in openness and encourage sharing. The holy grail is within you, it is not something tangible you can download.
  • We expect our members to participate and become a part of the community. Help yourself by helping others.

You'll need to register in order to view the content of the threads and start contributing to our community. It's free and simple, and we will never resell your private information.

A good SIM trader would still be short and still be pressing the shit out of that trade! There is NO WAY that a sane person would try to give a live run down of an open real trade. SO if there is one happy thing to feel good about when missing a trade...that would be calling it out all day in a progression that everyone can see.

Damn it!

I am really enjoying what you are doing here as I watch the NQ go nowhere fast. Certainly takes some balls to press like that. I'm still growing mine with some good fertilizer from your and tigertraders' threads among a few others.

I think we should have a contest for the biggest balls award here at Big Mike's. I will be the first to nominate tigertrader for the 1st annual biggest balls award for pressing the crap out of a trade. I nominate wldman for the biggest growth and up an coming biggest balls award.

Thanks wldman

I'd a been...

spastic on that sell button if I was not trying to figure out what the hell was going on or post the details here.

But YES, it is absolutely essential to grow a huge set for pressing winners. Most guys get it wrong backwards...they expand their risk and let losers run because their analysis and view is more important than actual price data. The average in or pressing a loser is for, well losers.

When you can add to a position and still have a first stop that locks a profit you should add to the winner till your balls fall off because you almost certainly can not lose. Press the shit out of the winner till a pullback takes you out locking a nice run. I am not the King of the super press. Some guys will leave their stop at original level or break even. I like to lock the profit and move that profit lock to trail a runner.

Have to run as my mom is still at the hospital.

I hope everything is OK, Dan.

Mike

Due to time constraints, please do not PM me if your question can be resolved or answered on the forum.

Need help?
1) Stop changing things. No new indicators, charts, or methods. Be consistent with what is in front of you first.
2) Start a journal and post to it daily with the trades you made to show your strengths and weaknesses.
3) Set goals for yourself to reach daily. Make them about how you trade, not how much money you make.
4) Accept responsibility for your actions. Stop looking elsewhere to explain away poor performance.
5) Where to start as a trader? Watch this webinar and read this thread for hundreds of questions and answers.
6)

Hey...

@Sk8ter @rickr

Did your housekeeping issues get resolved? Those are above my pay grade tech wise but I can try to help.

Dan
