Greece confirms...

they will make scheduled payment. Wldman done for the day. One modest winning trade. One lucky scratch. Happy to have stayed out of my own way.

Trade well everyone.

Evaluation...

for fundamental view, I get an "exactly correct" A+. For making it happen, I have to lower the grade to C+ because I missed the major move and bailed on the second short trade of the day. When Greece announced that they would make today's scheduled payment and the euro did not catch a bid, that was a sure sign that nobody cares we are going lower.

However, in my own defense, the grade school called just before 10 am to say that my girls have strep...come and get them. So I got the girls dosed up at the pharmacy, threw'em a milkshake and we where on the lake fishing before 11 am. We caught one small Largeie and one nice Crappie. We made 41 ticks net. So all things considered, wldman might not be to far out of balance after all.

Late start...

did no "homework" no morning review. Logged in at 6:12. Got lucky long from 1.2718. The remainder bias from yesterday had risk very tight at 1.2712. Nothing "new" today to change the overriding bias I have that the Greek issue will not resolve without some drama.

Primary target on method 1.2731 secondaries @1.2738 and 1.2742. So that is 14 ticks, 19 ticks and 23 ticks...total 56 ticks. Aside from the half assed wake and bake approach...that is not a long term winner, I do need to identify and implement a way to increase persistence. By not letting the winner run yesterday and what appears to be the same today, the cost might be 100 ticks.

Preparation: F
Trading:B it pays to be lucky.
Discovery from process: A
flexibility to change: D

Feel that...

Futures Edge on FIO

Are you a NinjaTrader user?

there is a little bit of an issue with live type posting of trades intraday. It is a distraction. The other side is that if I post one summary review at the end of the day some people will question that practice. I cant be concerned about that right now. Especially because this thread is for my benefit and I seem to be the only one following it right now any way.

S 1.2741, short is the "gut" here but that trade is against the immediate short term trend. Above the 200 period that will be primary target. Covered 1 @ 1.2724 for 17 ticks. Protective profit lock stop on the other 2 @ 1.2733, plus 18 ticks for 35 net on the trade.

L @ 1.2746, hate the long. bot 1.2745 for a net -3 ticks.

S @ 1.2743 well into primary and secondary targets @ 1.2713 and 1.2706 for 30 ticks and 37 ticks respectively. Final cover off a profit lock stop @ the 200 period or 1.2729 for 14 ticks.

So 113 ticks net plus the first trade of 56 ticks 169 ticks adds up pretty nice.

I'm not going to find fault with any of the mechanics today. The prep work was/is a disgrace today though.

Thanks Mike...

the entire point was two fold. 1) take the action of doing daily prep and review, and 2) being publicly accountable.

Me 2

Hope the girls are well, did they pick the colors for your charts ????????

The girls are actually carrying firewood right now for our nightly campfire. So, yes they feel great. I'm taking them to school in a few minutes. The local authority says 24 hours on antibiotic before you can return to school.

No on the chart colors. But they do look kind of sissy. I was trying to do some research on the visual and psychological ergonomics of color display. Most of that research is actually military and related to airplane and tank display screens.

My idea was/is to find a way to have one color type mean sell or short and another mean buy or long. I wanted to have that built on the same hierarchical approach as the series of indicators used in a method. So the "top of funnel" if you will, say the trade side eligibility, indicator be a similar hue but less intense than the trade entry trigger. Ergo the trade identification based on the hierarchical visual could more easily become a conditioned response...also I could view that from down the hall and not be chained to the monitor.

Does that make sense?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

On the view you see here, I look at that modified bollinger ribbon as the surface of the ocean, price then responds to conditions like a beach ball floating along at equilibrium, being pulled under by energy or being bounced out of the water by some energy. So I thought about a water/sky color concept. Have not changed any charts yet and NO, the idea was not conceived while under the influence. DB

great visual. I find things like this really work for me.

re: your screen grabs. I found posting while in a trade was usually too nerve racking/distracting so I will usually just grab screen captures a few bars after entry and then another when done. Then post the shots and commentary after trade or eod. I also like to go back and look at the view I had "then" aspect.

Nice journal...and pretty colors. tough crowd eh.
